The alignment is good.
Will get the PS pipe checked. However, I dont see any oil deposits under the vehicle even after overnight parking

So the svc found nothing in the PS system.
I also got the stab bushes changed.
The cost of the bushes is 160 for 2 and the cost of the labour is 165 [surprise]

For the suspension + steering noise they did Suspension re-torquing by which the instances of the sound coming has reduced but it has not completely gone. They charged 135 as labor charges for the same.

Any ideas on any good mechanic in Pune who can have a look at it?

Hadn't you test driven the vehicle before taking the delivery?

I did take a TD but at that time the noise was not there.

Please call the SA who was handling your XUV that day and tell him about your displeasure strongly. Just for this issue alone, I wouldn’t change the A.S.S, unless you aren’t satisfied with it overall.

You don't have to. Call him to pick your car at home and drop it back after the having the work done, if you are Ok with it.
I had a chat with my RM just now and will be taking the vehicle back tomorrow. I am not really comfortable with anyone else driving my car.

Re: Say Hello to Optimus: A Tuscan Red Mahindra XUV5OO W8 FWD

A strange update today in the morning. While coming to office was not able to hear even the slightest sound from the suspension/steering over a distance of 10kms covering some bad roads and not even the office parking lot where there is absolute silence with some extreme left and right turns.

For now I wont be going back to the SVC for this issue and will keep an Ear on it, to check if it returns.

A similar thing happened last year in May as well there was a consistent sound while turning the steering to extreme right even on stand still and it haunted me for a couple of weeks when I finally took the Optimus to SVC the sound had disappeared and hasnt been hear ever since.

Any ideas if the suspension system needs some bedding in after re-torquing?
I am no expert, but according to me there shouldn’t be, unless any component/s were not aligned or bolted correctly during the re-setting/re-torqueing. Can't eliminate some minor squeaking associated with rubber bushes/parts immediately after re-setting though.

If it reappears again, get a detailed check up of the entire suspension system to detect underlying issue, if any.

Re: Say Hello to Optimus: A Tuscan Red Mahindra XUV5OO W8 FWD

Long Time no see.

Sorry for the break in updates but the truth is there wasnt anything to update. Optimus is running hale and hearty without any kind of niggles or issues.

Optimus has just returned from a Pune-Goa-Pune trip covering close to 1050km both ways.
With this 1000km run Optimus has crossed the 19k km mark.

Overall trip was really good flawless performance. However I do think that Mahindra should improve the brakes on the Cheetah.

The best part of the drive was at one point of time after crossing Belgaum while coming towards Pune there is a long downhill stretch of perfect road without any kind of traffic what so ever and visibility good upto a couple of kilometers. Did some high speed testing there and the Optimus crossed the 180kmph mark (not more than 2-3 seconds north of the mark and then back to cruising speed of 110kmph). It wanted to go further but since there was a vehicle on the road I decided against it. (Mods Please remove the figures if need be)

Nothing extra to report apart from the positives already talked about a lot in this thread and other ownership threads.

AC however needs to work extra in this summer heat.

Didnt get the time to take pics of Optimus much as I was too busy enjoying the drive, but will post a couple of pics shortly.

Gurus kindly solicit any advice that needs to be taken for the 20k km service and/or any other points I need to take care of.

Will be utilizing the Car Spa voucher sent by Mahindra during this service.
