Re: Next Generation Swift & Dzire Launch By 2017

Agreed, this will be an instant hit. Expect 6-8 months waiting on launch date as usual.

This "Weight : lighter by 105 KG" will make car super fuel efficient. Another blockbuster by MSIL. This will also ignite debate between lighter cars and heavy cars though.

Next blockbuster will be Swift, wonder how MSIL will manage to manufacture such large quantity of cars.

So basically a boot added on Baleno with different front. Smart engineering and good packaging as I can see same doors from baleno

Another winner by MSIL.

Now others ie Tata, Hyundai, Ford and rest will face more downfall in sales.

Wisely said that's what my opinion too, boot added to baleno, so it no longer swift dzire because no connection to upcoming swift, may be platform same but just boot added to baleno. When baleno released I just thought if a sedan comes adding a boot to baleno its will be black buster it is happened now, but some how my intrusion is that it will no do 18k per month let us see.

Petrol is 85 kg lighter whereas Diesel is 105 kg lighter than before.
Sheet metal is similar to Baleno

Yes it wont sell more than 15k cars per month as per my thoughts because siblings are so many for Maruti
The new Dzire is expected to be priced between 5.5-10.5 lakhs ex showroom making it costlier than current Dzire as well, so Maruti itself has flooded the market with Balenos,Ignis,Brezza, to insane extent that customer will be tossing coins to choose which one to go with[lol]

One thing I am happy about is that Maruti has added dual airbags ABS as standard and the chassis as per Maruti has got stronger despite lowering kerb weight, so I expect diesel variants to hit 28+ kmpl ARAI and petrols to hit 20+ kmpl , again huge selling points
The fate of other brands specially Tata,Ford,VW, are to pack up and leave

Re: Next Generation Swift & Dzire Launch By 2017

Why is adding a boot to an existing hatch frowned upon in this case? Arent all compact sedans like this - Aspire, Etios, Tigor, Zest, Xcent etc
At least in this case, interiors etc look much different and longer wheelbase etc too, no longer sub 4m if Im not wrong unlike the competition
I think the car looks pretty fresh

While most other cars in the MS stable feel like warmed over versions of each other(which actually is the case with most manufacturers), at least this one looks different

I wasnt planning on considering another MS car but seeing the interiors and the front etc, Ill surely consider this if I dont go in for Figo Sport Diesel

PS- Why on earth another AMT [frustration]
Why not the CVT from the Baleno, much smoother unit and feels peppy too

Dzire Diesel Automatic is appealing to me if they could improve the AMT transmission to be less jerky and manageable at low speeds. It wouldn't be a problem with Diesels due to availability of low end torque. But AMT in petrols ?!? God help them. I would never prefer an AMT in petrols. I am owning one and i know the Problems. But I bought it because it was the cheapest Automatic to buy and my wife was learning to drive. And it is satisfactory to my needs. But anyone who buys an AMT Petrol over a CVT then he/she will repent later. So choose wisely.

Yeah I understand that CVT as a technology doesnt support high torque and that AMTs play better with high torque diesels and seems lesser AMT related complaints with regards to the K12 and 1.3 MJD whereas K10 has numerous complaints though my friend's wagon R is serving him perfect even now touch wood
Petrol should have gotten CVT

Yes manufacturer will definitely claim car has got stronger which I seriously doubt. With thinner metal sheet comes lesser strength else VW, Fiat and even Tata, Ford wouldn't mind giving thinner metal sheet and saving more money.
The side profile looks good as they used Baleno doors instead of Swift doors. Infact I was hard pressed to believe its under 4m from the side view. Even if its priced much above current Dzire I expect it would be a top 5 seller consistently but under 4m segment has got heated up in recent times. Diesel AMT is a solid move by Maruti!

Awesome Body shape and look up market now. I am not really fan of BLUE but still it look amazing.

Main game is about it's feature and price range. Lets see how it goes further.

Cheers to Maruti and Suzuki

Re: Next Generation Swift & Dzire Launch By 2017

Maruti claims that their car will meet the upcoming safety standards ,I think we should wait for the NCAP test before bashing them for thin sheet metal. The work they have done on design, space (under 4m) ,features, safety (abs ,airbags) is really commendable. This make dzire truly desirable!

Since they could not do much with length they worked on the width, nice.I think the mid level trim would be a true value for money.I would prefer this over xcent any day, even though I am against CS.

If it succeed ,it will be no fluke but result of all the hard work and clever planning ,all credit to Maruti.

Is it just me or all the new generation of compact sedans look great.
We have the Tigor, then the new Xcent and now DZire.
They have come a long way from looking like a 'chop' job

Re: Next Generation Swift & Dzire Launch By 2017

Awesome work from MSIL! Once again they have wiped out the competition and made it clear that i am the only king in this road!
One thing to note is all compact sedans are good actually some are far better, Maruti is KING in INDIA only because its got over 3000 service and sales outlets not because its a better over all car maker,

I appreciate Maruti for constantly updating products and bringing fresh products more and more so that the superior competition dosent get chance to show their progress or merits, business has no charity intentions and Maruti does play it the right way, the sub 10 lakhs segment is Indias biggest car buyer market
In Europe/US/Australia/ China its the 15-25 lakhs market thats the biggest seller
So capture the sub 10 lakhs segment by flooding market with lot of choices thats what they have done, and in the mean time they made sure all cars are not overtly cheap to buy and run, so the profit margins remain healthy too per product sold.

The new generation Swift will ensure Maruti cannot be touched in terms of market share for another say 5 years
