Re: Next Generation Swift & Dzire Launch By 2017

Not really ugly, they have corrected all the mistakes in design they did in older gen Dzire(s). The side profile is very balanced now. I am happy to see they have worked on angular A pillar and now it merges well with roof. They have also fine tuned boot lid design as compared to current one. (current one has smaller boot lid and wider shoulder).

The ugly part is the front facia, specially the grill and bumper. Grill resembles DC Amby somewhat and bottom part remind me of Nissan Sunny. And ofcourse, overdose of chrome.

After 73,633 units sold, subsidy to mild hybrids under FAME scheme withdrawn

The government has withdrawn incentives given to mild hybrid vehicles under the FAME India scheme. As per a notification from the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, mild hybrid technology will stand excluded from the benefits of the FAME India scheme with effect from April 1, 2017. This information is as per a PTI report.

How they wasted 100 crores!!!

With fame benefits withdrawn , shift to Nexa , New City facelift it would be tough time for Ciaz!

To me interiors feels cheap atleast in pics
I share the same feeling. Overall Looks are okay. But the interiors feel so cheap. Why can't they just give the international swift interiors. Compromising on such minor things will disappoint many. And worst built quality, sub-standard reliability and high price is a bonus. No wonder If AMT Diesel variant costs as much as AMEO TDI DSG.

Well I am too spoilt by the great new interiors by Tata new gen cars. This new dzire seems like being ripoff of various cars,

Headlights of figo,
Front grille of hyundai punto

The Rear tail lights look like amaze.

Interiors are not that great either. I was expecting too much from Dzire. But I can assure one thing. Though the suzuki cars do not have any design element in common, insane sales figures is what is common. Probably that is a trick MAke all the cars look completely different from one another.

What you said is true its not quality that wooes customers towards MARUTHI but the hyphed up resale value factor plus easily available otc spares be it genuine or fake( the choice of choosing a duplicate spare for lesser money) .

New Dzire spotted.
A "Aspire"ing move from MSIL. The front look has been ruined with that loud Chrome Surround by Maruti. Ford's Aspire with that sort of grill looks neat and elegant but it is to be remembered that a particular feature might not look good on every car. The rear though better than present one but still looks bland in front of the competition. Side profile and Interiors look fine. Performance wise is it still carrying the breadwinner series 1.3 D and 1.2 P Engines?

antenna is shark fin type (a pleasant surprise) or it is just antenna base with antenna removed creating an illusion of shark fin antenna.

Best looking Dzire ever it seems from the recent ones , Guessing maruti would up the prices with good margin as this one is the new ciaz to non-Nexa marutis , also they moved the ciaz to the Nexa well before Its entry, good move .

1.0 Boosterjet is surely possible given that Baleno RS already has the engine and shares the same platform etc

Automatic would be a total boon !! If they bring AMT instead...[frustration]
The CVT is pretty good, my SIL has the Baleno CVT and its a good unit !!

1.4 Boosterjet is less plausible but who knows , they might try and compete with Polo GT TSI

Imagine if they plonked the 1.6 MJD [:D] , that'd be insane, probably capable of more power and torque figures than it makes in the S Cross given the weight difference

S Cross has already had people take it to 150BHP and 390nm of torque after tuning

Re: Next Generation Swift & Dzire Launch By 2017

2017 Dzire Unveiled!

The new Dzire boasts a longer wheelbase, a larger boot, a 20mm wider body and a 40mm shorter height. At 3995mm in length, the Dzire still remains a sub-four-metre sedan, but the premium touches should help it set itself apart from the growing competition
The all-new Dzire gets anti-lock brakes (ABS) and driver and front passenger airbags as standard equipment across the range. The Dzire is also designed to comply with new pedestrian safety and side, frontal and frontal offset impact safety regulations. The rear seats also get ISOFIX points for securely mounting child seats.
A new two-pot instrumentation, a flat bottom steering wheel and new switchgear like the one seen in the Ignis are the other notable elements inside the new Dzire’s cabin.
The third-generation Dzire, expectedly, gets a range of new features and creature comforts too. The most noteworthy inclusions are automatic LED projector headlamps, LED taillights, LED daytime running lamps, rear AC vents and a touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Mirror-link compatibility.
the Dzire continues to use the familiar 1.2l naturally aspirated K-series petrol and the 1.3l DDiS turbodiesel motors as its engine options. Both will be available with a choice of manual or automated manual transmissions (AMT or AGS in Maruti Suzuki speak). The latter will be available on all but the base trim
.
