Re: Mahindra Begins Development of Next Generation Scorpio (W105)

it does not seem like the scorpio. however, it can be the younger sibling of xuv, the S101, sub 4meter.

Mahindra Scorpio Facelift Caught Testing As Launch Nears

Mahindra is known for extensively testing its new products leaving no stone unturned before its launch, although the effect of testing can’t be really seen. After spotting the 2014 Scorpio facelift testing all around the country, we have received another spy shot of the car being tested in Maharashtra. Our reader Mr. Sunil Bhatikar caught an example of the Scorpio facelift covered with camouflage as it was on a break, parked outside the Parivar Garden restaurant, off the Nashik highway on the 10th of March, 2014. The launch of the updated Scorpio is around the corner and Mahindra will hike the price of the SUV by around Rs. 15-20,000/-.
Codenamed S-594, the front facia of the car was covered in heavy camouflage and from what we can deduce after seeing the spy shots; the new Scorpio will get completely redesigned headlight design and grille as well as a revamped front bumper. The front hood and fenders too see a mild change in design, mostly for a leaner appearance. Mahindra will retain the air scoop on the hood and the design won’t be radically different from the existing model, but rather evolutionary.
The side profile gets minimalistic changes and seemed largely the same as the current model. The tail gate however received heavy camouflage and will see a major design revision. The tail gate operation will be the same though with the handle located on the left side. The overall design will be sharper on the facelift lending a premium appeal to the workhouse SUV. The Scorpio facelift will be updated with projector headlights and LED Daytime running lights, the rear too will get LED tail lights.
The interiors of the 2014 Mahindra Scorpio will also be refreshed for a premium appeal and could get a host of new features added to the list. A lot of new parts are likely to come from the XUV500’s parts bin like the dashboard and the steering wheel. The company should also work on improving the ride comfort of the Scorpio, especially at high speeds. Considering the next generation Mahindra Scorpio will come in 2016, the 2014 facelift needs to be updated extensively to keep it in sync with the competition that has come into the segment recently.

Re: Mahindra Begins Development of Next Generation Scorpio (W105)

New pics of Scorpio been out

Pics taken by Motorvikatan:

According to source its 2017 Scorpio.
But for me its look like short in length may be S101 or may be all new Bolero.

If its a new Scorpio than seems to be not new generation Scorpio. The grill still that awkward Vertical Tooth, New twin Smoke Headlamps.

Seems to all new Bolero is here..
These pictures no way resemble the Scorpio except for the front grill.

This looks like the Quanto replacement model, developed all new from scratch, but more of a Monocoque Chassis than the current BOF.

It looks like a BOF to me. That square section is an indicator. Unless its something else. BUT this looks like the next gen Bolero that is likely to debut 2015.

Remember that Mahindra announced that they are not going to launch any new model until 2016.
So don't expect this to be launched before 2017. S 101, the sub 4 m SUV, may be launched in 2016.

The 2014 Scorpio reaches Pune.

2014-Mahindra-Scorpio-facelift-dashboard-spyshot-1_copy.jpg

A production ready version of 2014 Scorpio that shows a few changes on the new vehicle. The headlamp and tail lamps are in place unlike other test mules spotted earlier. Even front and read bumper is from final design and now completely camouflaged. Notice the tiny towing hook at rear bumper.

The front end is expected to get major a revamp including parts of grille, bumper and a twin barrel headlamp whereas the rear end will get a redesigned bumper and a new LED tail lamp unit. On the interior side, the dashboard gets a whole new design with piano black plastic inserts, rectangular shape AC vents and a new steering wheel. The instrument cluster will also get a tweak in design to match the new dashboard. The side profile panels are expected to get a few design changes but not a complete new design. Vehicle exterior dimensions will remain same except the tail gate.

Scorpio will borrow some parts from its elder sibling XUV 5OO and is expected to hit the market in next two months.

I think the testing driver has given a free ride to his known ones or taken some money for drop [;)]

Similar to what company cab drivers do - some additional bucks !

But doing this, is seriously wrong in a company test vehicle [frustration]

Hope Mahindra does better than what Tata did with the Storme.
I am sorry to completely oppose you here. But Tata safari had a decade old reputation and a butchy looks image to all its users. The designers of Tata have retained most of those looks at the same time added some cute modern ques and brought out a great product which rides very well. The real SUV!!!

Changing the look and feel completely quite easy, but to retain that decade old legacy in design is the toughest part. Anyways Safari has its own serious fan following. I am one of them be it safari or safari storme!!!

Mahindras need to improve their ride and handling. Their cars just jump and pitch like the unstable puppies on the highways. This is proven with the XUV500 reviews across the Internet. No offense here to the Mahindra owners, but facts are facts. I strongly beleive that scorpio retains some of its looks even in that latest avatar as Safari did in the storme.

Looks all squarish and boxish to me. From many angles it looks a Sumo kind of boxish nature and copies the same old jeep like design cues of the old scorpio. Only good thing I notice is that new headlamp cluster which is borrowed from XUV500 (my thought).

Hope Mahindras improve the ride and handling department, and also the cheapos inside the cabin (XUV500 cheapos inside were very pathetic).

Re: Mahindra Begins Development of Next Generation Scorpio (W105)

Looks like Mahindra took design idea for Next Gen Bolero from this sketch available on Internet.

@BoltFromTheBlue, Interior of XUV500 is not good as per the cost but still i don't see TATA is doing great with their Safari Strome & Aria. At least people are ready to buy mahindra SUV's where nobody is interested in TATA vehicle's.

also adding some more images of Mahindra Scorpio 2014 taken from CARWALE.com.

Not many though. Doesn’t matter to us, anyways.

+1
You are correct, note sure about the “cute” thingie though !

and brought out a great product which rides very well.
Hmm ! It’s certainly a good product. Don’t know about “a great” part though ?

Err !
Changing the look and feel completely quite easy,
You mean designing an all new vehicle easier?
but to retain that decade old legacy in design is the toughest part
Are you talking about retaining the body shell of Dicor with some tweaks upfront, the toughest?
Anyways Safari has its own serious fan following.
Yes, Indeed. In fact getting the vehicle beyond that category has always been the challenge, especially of late with the competition getting tougher.

I am one of them be it safari or safari storme!!!
Thanks for the confession. !!

Their cars just jump and pitch like the unstable puppies on the highways.
I wonder, how does one drives along his car on these highways with those unstable puppies jumping and pitching up and down, uncontrollably. Mind you, there plenty of them getting rolled out every month, unlike the competition !!

No offense here to the Mahindra owners, but facts are facts.
Indeed. If at all, they really are.

Looks all squarish and boxish to me. From many angles it looks a Sumo kind .
I am sure Mahindra engineers wouldn’t want to see any Sumo element in their vehicles. Can’t blame them for that, for sure.
(XUV500 cheapos inside were very pathetic).
Err !!

Any assumption when the Beast gonna launch.

I am dreaming to have this SUV. The new Alloys seems neat and nice (5 SPOKE).

The Bonnet line straight to Window bottom line till Rear End. Roof Line parallel too with window lines. Twin Headlamps are welcome. Now orange partial Headlamps is new Mahindra Signatory - XUV, Bolero, Xylo all has this in headlamps.
