Re: Mahindra Begins Development of Next Generation Scorpio (W105)

If the gear lever has a pull up mechanism, it could mean the new Scorpio has the 6 speed gearbox from the XUV! And maybe 140 bhp too! [clap]

For non-M&M followers - the Scorpio's mHawk engine was always capable of 140 bhp, but the older gearbox (now present in the Scorpio) was not capable of handling that amount of torque and power. Which is why M&M developed the new 6 speed gearbox in the XUV. So, if M&M has carried over the gearbox to this new facelifted Scorpio, it could also mean that they could bump up the power to 140 bhp.
Hi Raj, from a known source it still has 120 BHP.

And suspension is similar to that of Xylo with Anti Roll bar, for comfort on bad roads.

They are still testing and tweaking the suspension.

Plan is to make it more roomy and better space utilisation.

Mahindra scorpio caught testing again

Scorpio - YouTube

Though the vehicle looks almost identical to the current gen Scorpio I felt it looked planted on the road.
We have to consider the possibility that mahindra may have plonked the 140bhp mhawk in the facelifted version.

Suspension is surely tweeked.

SPIED- 2014 Mahindra Scorpio Facelift with Automatic Transmission

The new spy pics show the the car’s new dashboard that is darker in color than the outgoing Scorpio. The AC vents are now rectangular with silver accents. The new simple instrument console houses a tachometer on the left and the speedometer on the right. There is also a MID between the two meters. The XUV500 inspired steering wheel uses a different color scheme and includes buttons to control the audio system on the left and cruise control functions on the right. A rotary knob sits near the lower part of the steering wheel, which is likely to be the ORVM control knob for the car. The 2014 Mahindra Scorpio facelift uses blue and grey upholstery for the seats.

Earlier, the car was spied many times, but its the first time the interior spy shots show the automatic transmission lever. As per the ******** report, the car uses a a 6-speed automatic transmission. This automatic transmission will be offered with the same 2.2 liter mHawk turbo diesel engine, which generates 120 bhp of max power and 290 Nm of torque. The engine will also be available with a 6 speed manual transmission.

Here are few additional details of the 2014 Mahindra Scorpio facelift:

The car will receive projector headlamps, with a smoked effect.
The bonnet scoop has been redesigned and now looks much better integrated.
The tail lamps have been redesigned, with a rectangular profile.
The car features beige interiors with wood inserts.
The infotainment system has been upgraded. A touch screen module may be offered.
The Scorpio will continue the 7 seat arrangement in a 2+3+2 layout. Similar to the current Scorpio, the last two seats face each other.
We can safely expect Mahindra to showcase the Scorpio facelift at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo next month. With the SUV segment competition on the rise like never before, do you think the upcoming Mahindra Scorpio facelift will perform as good as its sibling- XUV 500 ?

Same Speedo is available in Ford Eco Sport.

Dashboard style is derived from Mahindra Bolero (which looks ugly to me), & on that dashboard XUV's steering wheel looks weird.

hope outside work will make customer's happy

The current generation Scorpio is offered with a 6 speed fully electronic automatic transmission in its VLX AT variant. Might get the same in the facelift as well.

Re: Mahindra Begins Development of Next Generation Scorpio (W105)

Anybody who saw the New Scorpio seen space increase between seats as company is giving small dashboard like mahindra bolero, so there is around 5-7 inches space available to make some better & comfortable seating arrangements!!![clap]
its not good as XUV500 or Xylo but still its a Good News for Scorpio Lovers....!!!

Spied – Mahindra Scorpio facelift & mildly updated Bolero caught on test

The Mahindra Scorpio facelift has been spotted on test near Surat, Gujarat, recently. Along with the Scorpio facelift, a mildly camouflaged Bolero was also seen.

Speaking about the Bolero facelift first, we notice a thin layer of camouflage on the bumpers and wheel arches of the SUV. The Bolero was last updated in August 2011 which saw the addition of a digital dashboard, a new engine and minor cosmetic changes. Mahindra might want to freshen up the Bolero to hide its age, but clearly sales have shown no signs of lag.

On the contrary, sales of the Bolero have increased with its age with Mahindra selling in excess of 100,000 units/annum in 2011, 2012 and 2013.

Coming to the Scorpio facelift, various spyshots have revealed new details about the SUV. In our previous update, the Scorpio facelift was snapped wearing LED taillights, a feature which is not seen in these images. The front fascia of this test mule sports tinted headlights, and it is believed that on the top-end variant, projector headlights would come standard.

The ODO looks as in ecosport.

The dials might be a treat to watch, as in XUV.
