New Honda Brio SMT - Ownership Review

Hi Nitin,
Since i have taken VMT, it had central locking system within. When i have asked the local shop guy here, he said, it is not possible to do it? not sure how true it is? Do you think i have to install security system again (AutoCop)

central locking is there in all variants along with immobilizer but without a siren (am not sure about the base variant E).

Getting an additional central locking like autocop adds more safety to the car. And its easy since all wiring needs to be done from the drivers seat.

I live in a good colony in delhi and last week 2 cars got jacked from my area. one bang opposite to where i live and the other not even 50 meters. seems they love maruti! since one was swift dzire and other was swift. I am aware that the car thieves can open any lock but for peace of mind i do not regret spending 2800 bucks more. Now apart from the gear lock and central locking, i always make it a point to put steering lock as well for added safety.

anyways we get one key for keyless entry , now I am using the remote so i stored the keyless one and use the normal key.

@anilkumargurla: Honda are very fussy about their warranty and I would not suggest you voiding the waranty for saving a couple of hundred rupees.

no wires are cut nowadays. So your electrical warranty does not get void.

Congratz for your new Brio mate. What color you selected?

I always tend to doubt whether these dealers actually do some under chasis boat or under body coat or they just say we have done it for the sake of saying. If you could check the status of under chasis before and coat and find any difference then it would be obvious.

I understand ur Doubt. Getting a proper 3M Treatment done, depends on the dealer. My Dealer seems to be fair and i believe that they will do the 3M treatment, both body and under chasis. Also he is giving me a 3M coupon which i can use after 6 months for free.

By the way the colour is Urban Titanium.

Hi I have confirmed white Brio SMT. Today the dealer gave me the chasis number. I decoded it and found that the vehicle is of May 2012 make. Should I go for it or is it too old?? Plz advice.

You can bargain on the cost - may be around 10 K. I have done the same for the polo of June 2012. However at last moment decided to go with Brio!!!

Since Brio does not comes with insulated tinted glass, so what all effective options are available to keep away the heat?

During summers, especially in the north, mercury rises so hard that you need some kind of insulation to make the AC effective and drive more cost effective.

Easy peasy. Go for sunfilms. Various options are available in the aftermarket to fit various pockets. Some good brands are V-Kool (best), 3M, Garware, Llumar, etc.
