Hi Sudeep,
You have bought some valid points like black color getting dirtier faster and uncomfortable during summers and i will use them to defend my side of the story[evil]. Hope my family agrees to what i say.

What do you mean by black color din't impress you much? Could you be a little more specific. Was it because the glass hatch not gelling well with the black color body or is there anything else?
Yeah,
The all glass hatch which is a style statement in Brio, doesn't standout in black as it does in other colours. I have seen Black Brio both on road and in Showroom, there are a very few on the roads.

Also consider silver, I liked it a lot when I saw it on road. Do check out Jazzy's thread if you haven't already,

Boy!!! I must say you are genius in getting such good information. First you posted the amazing offers on Brio and now concrete information about AT Model of Brio. Just Amazing.

I must say i would have considered the AT model given the traffic conditions in hyderabad, but for the price i am getting the Manual VMT model i am sold. The Brio AT is going to be available only in the higher end and it is going to cost at least 50K more than the present Brio VMT. This significantly increases the price of Brio AT for me taking into consideration that the current offers that i am getting will not be valid at the time of its release during Diwali.

Eventually i have to compromise somewhere and i think that the present deal i am getting is a VFM. Nevertheless it is a boon for all those customers waiting to get a easy to drive AT hatchback with Stylish looks.

I have one hell of a stubborn brother at home. He teamed up with my mom and sis and down voted me. My dad is like anything is okay. Looks like its gonna be the Black Brio after all. I am a tad disappointed, but my brother and sister are the ones who will be using the car. If they are happy with their choice, good for them. Leaving the color aside i am happy that we are entering the lovely Brio Family[:)]

The color of your car might not seem like a safety feature, but a light color can reduce your chances of being in a crash, and a dark color can increase your risk. A study conducted in Sweden found that across all car body types, the lowest accident rates belonged to pink cars, and black cars had the highest accident rates.

If you just can't see yourself driving a pink car, consider silver. New Zealand researchers found that in crashes and collisions the rate of injury for drivers and passengers of silver cars was significantly lower than for any other color. The study, published in the British Medical Journal, also found that occupants of black, brown, and green cars suffered the highest rates of injury.

A follow-on study out of the Monash University Accident Research Centre in Australia looked at more than 800,000 serious motor vehicle accidents in which the vehicle had to be towed (i.e., it was so badly damaged that it could not be driven), and evaluated risk and damage from the perspective of visibility and available light. Using white cars as their comparison standard, researchers looked at accident rates for cars by color. They examined rates for cars in the colors red, yellow, green, blue, grey, brown, black, maroon, orange, pink, and purple, and compared the accident rates for cars of each color to that of white cars.

Not surprisingly, they found that in daylight, colors that ranked lower on the visibility index were at greater risk for accident involvement. Black and gray cars were at a particularly significant disadvantage compared to white cars. Black cars had a 12 percent greater risk, and grey cars an 11 percent greater risk than white cars did of being involved in an accident. Silver color did not offer much protection from accident involvement; silver cars were 10 percent more likely than white to get into accidents.

At dusk and dawn, when visibility is poorest, the risk for black cars shot up to a 47 percent greater chance than a white car for an accident. Silver cars' risk increased modestly, to 15 percent. In full darkness, the risk difference between colors and white was much less, with red cars being 10 percent more likely to have an accident, and silver 8 percent riskier.

Many factors besides color are involved in accident risk, such as vehicle speed, driver intoxication, driver fatigue and distraction, weather, road conditions and vehicle malfunction. Good drivers understand that they can't control all the factors, particularly those involving the other car and the other driver. They focus on the ones that are in their control. The color of your vehicle is one of those factors that is within your control, and it's worth thinking about choosing your vehicle's color to improve the odds of you and your passengers coming home whole.

I request you to reconsider black color specially for brio as its all glass hatch from back.also the distance of rear passenger and boot glass is very less already.

when parked under direct sunlight for a long time, black or dark interiors will absorb more heat and it will take more time for the interiors to cool down after the air-conditioner is turned on. The higher heat level also results in a shorter lifespan for interior parts such as the upholstery and console.

Well that's really a great find. I never knew that color of the car plays a role in the risk of an accident. Will definitely keep that in mind when buying a car and will also let others know about it.

What can i say Sanjay.. I am really desperate to get a color other than black but i don't see that happening. Brio being the first car in my family i want even the small things to be perfect. What ever you have mentioned is absolutely true and i agree with you completely. But my brother is with the attitude "Anything in black is sexy". I have already mentioned some of the points that you put-forth but he says driving a black car is his dream/pasion and wants one no matter the disadvantages of it. That got him the sympathy and my parents are like "you are not even gonna drive it, then why force your brother to chose a color which he is not fond of and stuff." So i am left with no choice except to give him what he wishes for. But i will try talking to him again and hopefully convince him. If not then may be later at some point of time when he buys a car for himself he will be wise enough not to repeat the same thing.

With the festive season coming up and the Brio At launch there should be many offers/discounts on Honda Brio. It shouldn't be difficult for you to find out as you are first one to point out the ongoing discounts on Brio. In case i come across any offers i will definitely let you know.

Cheers,
Rahul

Also ask dealer that u want to do pre-delivery inspection.
Just check dents and other stuff thoroughly before making full payment.
Check car manufacturing date also.
