Re: New Ford Figo Trend (Diesel): Ownership Review

New Update: I got my loan sanctioned, I called the SA and told him I want to see the vehicle at the stockyard, he said no one is allowed to see the vehicle in stockyard, since I'm taking the delivery on 1st week of dec, and he would bring the vehicle to showroom and take it back to stockyard, this sounds completely ridiculous, I have decided to go to showroom tomorrow and hopefully check out the car before it is in showroom.
I have learnt the hard way trusting those showroom guys. Just be adamant that you want to see the car in stockyard. And you have full right to check prior to allotment. If not, then ask him and confirm from him in writing that if you find issue in the alloted car, they will allot a new one to you.

Till now I have lost approx 8k for cancellation. One while dealing with second hand accent and other booking a grand i10.

So please make sure they don't take you for a ride with false promises.

Bro,

It doesn't matter you check the car at stockyard or at showroom. What matters is you should do PDI before the car is registered at your name. Ask your SA to provide the VIN of the car allotted to you. Ask him date and time when you can visit showroom or stockyard to do PDI. Do remember to take the printout of the PDI and check vehicle as per that. Allhundaicar provided the link in his previous messages, check it.

If you find the car is fine, ask SA to go ahead with the documents and ask him the delivery date. Best wishes for your new ride.

Hi
This is my first post in TAI. I am planning to book Figo Hatch 1.2 petrol trend and would like to know if missing anti roll bar is a cause for concern . Is it ok for petrol cars not to have anto roll bars? Thanks for your time

@allhyundaicars : Do you have any plan for getting undercoat paint from 3M.
To all,
Which is better 3M car care or Buying a good brand anti rust paint and get the job done at local painting shop.
If buying is your answer kindly suggest a good brand available in India.

Re: New Ford Figo Trend (Diesel): Ownership Review

Did a pdi and came out satisfied. Even driven for 100m or so. All good.

Note: No rear adjustable headrests in November manufactured cars confirmed. Checked trend and titanium variants (white car in attached images).

The hood release button is changed slightly and feels much better now.

People have been complaining about absence of thud while closing doors. No complains from my side. Better than my i10 1.2 and even than my brothers desire.

Plastics are neat and cost cutting isn't evident.

No underbody protection for engine bay, but is higher compared to new Baleno.

One thing I hated .. The fuel lid. It's really flimsy.

Sharing some snaps.

Thanks for conformation mate,

Any news if the rear headrest is going to change to adjustable in next lot of cars or is it just a rumor? Might be someone has done aftermarket changes which lead to all this rumor.

By the way, happy to know that you were satisfied with the car. [clap] Best wishes.

@mikemk91 : I think 3M is better choice.

No confirmation of future implementation. Even the showroom guy has no news about it. And thanks :-)

Re: New Ford Figo Trend (Diesel): Ownership Review

Guys anyone from Chennai has got the vehicle delivered? Booked on Oct 10 and still waiting. Had very irritating response from one dealer and now shifted to another one. Initially Ford India promised to waive the handling charges and hen they refused stating dealers across India are not OK with that. [embarass] Fought a lot and got it waived today and paid full amount in DD. Keeping fingers crossed and hoping a good first car buying experience. [confused]

@ganna - i think the trend variant has the anti roll bar. the base and ambiente petrol doesn't have one. still confirm that from your dealer.

@mike - i dont think there's any need for anti rust in delhi so never had it done.
i dont know about any brand other than 3m but you can check facebook pages of many other car care service providers and compare.

@ prakash - congrats for your booking and i too hope you have a pleasant overall buying experience. which model , color , fuel did you book ?

All diesel figos have anti roll bars whereas all petrol ones don't come with anti roll bars.

Paid balance amount today. Got handling charges of 3k waived off. Didn't opt for essential pack (mud flaps and floor mats) of 5k. Got 700 bucks floor mats. Insurance prices changed a bit. Maybe 1k higher than last month. Got zero dept insurance for 20k from dealer. Car will be delivered on Tuesday. Was needing it on Monday as its my birthday, but anyways, never do anything in a hurry. :-P

Re: New Ford Figo Trend (Diesel): Ownership Review

Hey guys,
Im really confused as to what colour i should go for.
I've eliminated the blue ,black and red as it did not appeal to me as much as the other.[roll]
So its narrowed down to the rest. i.e white , ignot silver, smoke grey.
I was initially keen on geting white but now i realize as white does not have the metallic lusture, it does not bring out the characteric lines (on the hood, bumpers, and side) very well.
Other colours seem to bring out the edges and lines more prominently.
Any inputs are appreciated.
Thanks.

Boss, heard from a mechanic like light colors are always better.. Not only for night visibility but also for a good resale value..

+1 to what prakash said. Mostly colours like white, silver are preferred as they will be retained for a longer duration compared to dark colours which when loose lustre over years seem to look faded. The resale value will be better for white and silver ones

Secondly visibility at night. Silver and white are good for that. Whereas if you travel areas having fog or dense smog, then white and silver won't be visible easily.

Below are my views on colours of figo:

White : looks smashing. But should be maintained well. If not, then it becomes pale white over years.

Silver : My choice considering visibility, resale and longevity. Figo looks good in silver. Scratches are not visible easily.

Golden : Different colour. Attracts attention. Easy to maintain. Visibility OK. Figo looks good as this one is the advertised colour. Over years it may turn into faded orange. Again its my assumption seeing many cars.

Black : Scratches are difficult to hide. People who are totally devoted to keeping their cars shinning buy this colour. Visibility is poor at night but then reflectors can be used. Lot of articles stating that AC efficiency is reduced and car heats more. Figo looks lovely in this colour

Grey : Close to black. Doesn't stand out in crowd

Note: the front grills looks much more prominent on dark coloured figos.

Red: I personally feel its not red. It maroon red. Not sure how to describe it. Figo looks good in this colour. But fading and loosing shine over years might make the car look weird.

Blue: Haven't seen either a blue figo or aspire.

Re: New Ford Figo Trend (Diesel): Ownership Review

@ chirag - happy birthday in advance [:)]
when i took the delivery they just gave a photo of me with the car and a 2 liter diesel coupon [lol] i asked whether they give any flowers or any chocolates to which they replied they don't. they also said if we know that the customer is asking for delivery we do arrange a cake and surprise the customer. so i hope they call you tomorrow and deliver the car.

@ ford guy - just like everyone mentioned , light colors always bring out the character , the lines of the car. i bought a white verna and when i saw a silver i was like why didn't i bought it.
red color looked good on the figo so bought it.
my color preference for figo
red > smoke grey > black > silver > blue > white.

even though white looks good but i have started hating the color. there are so many white cars everywhere.
