Hii TVM13 where do you stay?
I stay at Nanthancode?
Yes Harry Ford is very good, their after sales too is better than Kairali Ford, I ve been with Kairali Ford for the past 4 years and from this year on I have moved to Harry Ford, and they have done well to impress me, you can confidently book from Harry Ford,
Thanks a lot. That gives me a lot of confidence. I stay in Sreekaryam but might shift to the Peroorkada side in near future. Hence Harry Ford would be even more nearer. Once again, thanks and I appreciate your very clear opinion.

He is offering grey and gold colour. The reason to stick silver is for its benefits and I will travel around 1200 km per run twice in a month that too at night time. As silver has metallic shine during my night travel other vehicles can notice me at a long distance (chances from escaping any bad incidents).
So I am confused and not able to decide at the moment. Another worry is if ford hike their prices it will be added disappointment for my waiting till next year.
@Carguy: I really liked Blue and ruby red but as said above for the advantages of Silver only I have not considered any other colour. I will visit the showroom this Sunday again and will re-consider on colour choice.
i saw a similar research in which it was found that the red color is the most dangerous followed by black and at last it was the white color.
it's good that you are thinking it this way but in normal lit roads i think any color car will be easily visible. you can add reflective tape at the rear and even the front. won't look odd and will serve the purpose.

Why dont you email ford customer care.?
They respond within an hour or so.
You can also show the dealer the e-mail response.
He cant possibly give any excuse to that .
I did check with the Ford India on FB, got a call back and confirmed this is available only on Titanium and Titanium+ variant, not on trend, And brought up with Handling charges to which he replied Yes that is correct showroom dealers will charge Handling charges as they bring vehicle to showroom from the Mfg plant, i was SHOCKED! how could he be supporting or appeasing such illigal charges, asked him to show me where it is mentioned legally by Govt he immediately backed out and said he'll talk to his seniors and call back tomorrow.

i dont know whether to laugh or be angry. so they mean they transport the car from the chennai facility to delhi for just 7000rs ? haha. tell me which courier they are using i will be uisng that to transport my car to various cities if required.
every sane businessman will include freight/shipping charges in the cost of production ie included in the ex showroom price of the car.

jokes aside , when i reported on twitter i got a call within minutes and the guy said the charges have been removed.
anyways send a tweet again early tomorrow morning asking just about the handling charges.

ps : twitter is a really effective medium. i ported to airtel had some amount left on my vodafone account. for months i didnt receive the cheque and after complaining on twitter got a cheque in 4 days.

Re: New Ford Figo Trend (Diesel): Ownership Review

Hi guys, been following this thread even though it's a thread for figo diesel. I had booked my figo petrol trend from wasan motors Mumbai. I asked them whether they have silver figo in stock. They followed the same tricks like the other dealers by saying that they just got news that the person who had booked silver figo cancelled the booking and the car is free now. I immediately asked them to give me the vin number and I went to their stockyard to check the car and to check it as per tbhp checklist. To my surprise, the car they alloted had already 71kms on the odo (image attached). I called up the manager and rejected the car. Checked some more cars from the stockyard and they had 3kms or 5kms on odo. One innocent guy in the stockyard told me the cars come directly from sanand factory to the stockyard by trailers. So my doubt was right. The manager was trying to sell me a car which was been used for some purpose. He told me that it was 1 tested car out of 100 to which I said OK, but still I rejected the car.

Then via tbhp I came to know that petrol figo and aspire don't have anti roll bars. I emailed ford India and dealership about this and at first they weren't sure. But by repeated emails they finally agreed to it. But the brochure still bears the wrong info.

Regarding the handling charges, the manager said he will waive it off.

Now today I got another vin. I will check the car in the stockyard on Saturday. Hoping it to go well.

Hi Chirag, way to go.. Good job. Btw, does tbhp has a list of checklist guidelines ? If yes, can you share the link of the thread ?

@ chirag - it's good that you rejected that car. mine had 30kms which seemed ok to me. i dont know why they use unregistered cars for their work. i saw on tbhp that a guy was using a new swift as a taxi for short distances.
anyways there are many mistakes in the brochure and they have started rectifying it.

@ carguy - here you go.

Re: New Ford Figo Trend (Diesel): Ownership Review

30kms when the car is at showroom would be fine, as they drive cars from stockyard to showroom. But at stockyard itself it was 71 and if this car would have been shown to me at showroom it would have been over 100.

I will check the car tomorrow and will post some snaps. As per vin, car is November manufactured. :-)

Re: New Ford Figo Trend (Diesel): Ownership Review

Some dealers give some customers test drive of some delivery models, the reason they do it is because most dealers are allotted diesel vehicles for test drive not petrols since the take rate is low,I have seen some people taking test drive of delivery Aspire AT cars since the showroom dosent have an AT car as test drive car, actually I too drove a Aspire AT that was due for delivery that day itself. So its inevitable that some cars wil have some odo readings,my current Figo had 35kms on odo when I bought it back in 2010, there is no need for 35kms duty at showroom, but I did a thorough PDI and found no issues and took car for delivery the next day.

Still 50+ kms means it should have been used well. My 35 kms should have been a few 7-10 km test drives by some customers,I just made sure that everything is working perfect and signs hand impressions, missuse etc, and couldnt find any,so took her home the next day.

Re: New Ford Figo Trend (Diesel): Ownership Review

New Update: I got my loan sanctioned, I called the SA and told him I want to see the vehicle at the stockyard, he said no one is allowed to see the vehicle in stockyard, since I'm taking the delivery on 1st week of dec, and he would bring the vehicle to showroom and take it back to stockyard, this sounds completely ridiculous, I have decided to go to showroom tomorrow and hopefully check out the car before it is in showroom.
