Re: New Ford Figo Trend (Diesel) | 3rd Service Update | 20,000 Kms: Ownership Review

Car already started reaching the Showrooms. Spotted 2-3 S variants of Figo in Harry Ford's Yard [:D]
Yes I too heard of it but as per the birdie who gave the info he said it is just a Sport variant that sits between Titanium and Titanium+
It will have Sporty decals, spoiler, blackened headlights, blackened alloys, and new 15" 195 section tires, and a slightly stiff setup to counterweight the tire heft and not a proper European or Australian tuned suspension like what the 1.6S etc had, still it will be way better than the recently launched Baleno RS and Polo GT TDi with these updates,

What I wish for most is a Figo Sport with 1.5l 110PS petrol motor with all these updates and Manual

Friends,

I need some advice. I recently purchased Ford Aspire 1.5TDCi Titanium variant and took delivery on 8th April.

Headlight seems to too mediocre. I return home from work close to midnight and the headlight doesn't inspire any confidence. Checked with SA who told that they can't upgrade as what is given is as per Ford

Second, I'm badly missing the central lock buzzer and reverse horn. Again the dealer has told these can't be fitted even by their service center as it is against Ford policy. This doesn't sound logical as these are vital in city conditions. People dont even give way on hearing the reverse horn and without it is a nightmare.

On a side note, this variant is equipped with a perimeter alarm. Which means it should buzz right when locking or unlocking? can someone please clarify.

Regards.

I saw these Sport version while taking delivery of my car in Chennai. 15" black alloy to go with blackened head/tail lamp and roof.. While the Figo looked good, this didn't look much good on Aspire.

I give space but most people lack basic driving sensne.

Try changing the bulbs of the car. You can ask for suggestions on the relevant thread.

Perimter alarm is to avoid any unauthorised access to the car. Even if you get the reverse horn it's the people coming who may or may not give you soace to reverse. If they can't see a car coming out of a parking space i dont know how they will listen to the reverse sound.
Also press the lock button twice to confirm if the doors are locked or not. The car will beep after pressing the button twice.
Also if you park in a badly lit area, when you take out your car keys , switch on the high beam of your car. Lock the car and the lights will turn off after some time automatically - guide me home feature.

@marcprad Just change the bulbs to Philips Extreme vision or Osram Night Breaker within 55/60 wattage. It will make a hell lot of difference.

Definitely. If you are just changing bulbs within same wattage there is no need to change wiring harness but if you are going for 100w or more changing wiring harness is a must.

On a dufferent note Two issues I need to check during service. Petrol smell coming into the car after fueling up. The smell goes away after a while but I think the petrol vapours are making into the car. Other one is there seems to be a tiny leak at the exhaust. Some other owners have reported this issue in FB group and here as well? I am not sure if it is a issue or not but will confirm during service. Has anyone else noticed this issues?

Got your point. There are always people who are unmindful on the streets and are unmoved by anything. But there are still people who behave with traffic sense. reverse horn is a sign for those to make them aware a car is moving back.

Regarding the perimeter alarm, my concern is i distinctly remember a demo session where the Ford guy told key can be used to identify car in a parking area by clicking on it which turns on the light along with the alarm. But this alarm is what is missing in mine? Was is removed as part of the features taken off in 2017 model?

Thanks for the info. Will check with the dealer.

By chance, do you know what is the stock bulb that comes in Aspire? I'm hoping just changing the make with the same wattage wont give any warranty issues

I don't know if its the same as Figo then it will be Osram H4 55/60 cheap bulb and PS. no one goes to the dealer to change bulb. Don't invite the dealer to fleece you. Read your manual where it clearly states the specification.

If your car is in locked status and you unlock it using the remote, then the parking bulbs in the front and rear tail lights will get switched on for some time. This is the standard feature in the new Figo. Yours also should be having it.

Also press the lock button twice to confirm if the doors are locked or not. The car will beep after pressing the button twice.
To be more precise, the car will honk [;)], which may not sound good in some places like in an apartment parking during the night.

Any ideas where is the cabin air filter ? I wanted to clean it but didn't find it behind the glove box.
The manual says it's behind the center cosole [confused]

I also saw a video for a ford fiesta. Sharing link below.
https://youtu.be/E9YIuKQmWG0 is this really that difficult to remove the cabin air filter ?
