No issues at all. Just avoid sudden braking or acceleration / constant speeds and do not over-rev the car. Good luck.

I got the point were one shouldn't do sudden braking or acceleration and alos not to over-rev the car. I shall keep the rpm below 2500 mark. But shouldn't i maintain constant speeds in highways? Any issues with doing so?[confused]

Sankar

I would like to ask one thing (I could not find it). Dont we need to do paint inspection too(may be under sun)..just to make sure paint is not chipped , scrathes, etc.?
Yes, of course it should be inspected. I have mentioned the same in second post itself.

Does Indian cars have/cover insurance on car paint; What if with in 6 months my paint starts to oxidized, fail etc?
Some carmakers (Eg: Skoda) offer warranty on paint and corrosion issues. Anyhow, early natural damage to paint must be brought to the attention of manufacturer.

It is recommended to keep the speeds varying during initial thousand kilometers. This allows the moving parts a chance to bed in.

Varying in the ene keep it between 60-80km/hr and constantly changing the speeds up and down? Won't that affect the mileage and efficiency?

It doesn’t mean fluctuating the speeds now and then. You anyway would have to change the speeds at certain times. Do not drive too fast if mileage is a concern.

Note: TAI's PDI checklist has been updated with much more in-depth information. Please ensure to carry its print out whenever performing a PDI.

Good Work Vibhor.

Nicely written off, and included the changes mentioned.

It will surely help the buyers as it assisted him a lot.

procedures for new car delivery

Hello all,

I plan to take a delivery of my brio VMT from Dakshin honda in 1 weeks time.

Since this will be my first car, I am not sure what all steps to follow.

It would be great to get some helpful information in this regard.

Regards.

Congrats. We have compiled an exhaustive Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) Checklist. It's attached along with post #8 of this topic. Just carry a print out and you’re good to go.

Will be using this tomorrow. Need to take a print out at the cyber cafe in the morning. My printer has stopped as usual when it is required. Stay tuned for more details.

Is the BMW finally joining your garage? Congrats for whichever car it is. Our revised PDI checklist is more comprehensive. Hope it helps.

Unfortunately no. I need to get my new house ready first where I will have a dedicated enclosed parking for it besides space for the other vehicles (Uno, Enfield, Activa & my wife's new car for which the PDI checklist was used.

Thanks. The review will be up shortly. Still awaiting the bank loan before taking delivery. The checklist was really good.

Going to Book My Car, What all should I take care of in terms of documentations?

As my other post would have suggested, after almost a month of thinking, planning and seeking help, I have short listed Wagon R Lxi CNG as my choice.

I would be making the booking tomorrow. I am not going to be at dealership as all deal details, colors have been finalized and sales rep would be there to collect booking amount and finance process related documents.

I need fellow TAI's inputs as to what all should I ensure getting from him and the overall process. I plan next to visit dealership only for taking delivery, is it a correct approach or you suggest something alternative.

Thanks in Advance

Get PDI done once the car is allotted and then decode manufacturing date through VIN. Visit the first page of this thread for detailed information and download our checklist from here.

Just a few Qs:

a) What if the salesman tries to avoid answering customer's 'request' to do a PDI?
b) Above salesman's designation - who can be more capable to co-operate with customer?
c) If customer himself/herself not allowed to do PDI at stockyard (perhaps company's policy), can customer tactically negotiate for any leverage?
d) If PDI not done by customer (at stockyard), what are 5 most critical (extremely necessary) PDI points from checklist to do at delivery day? (I think decoding VIN should be topmost priority)

Thanks friends.
