Need Advice - Re-Registration Process with RTO KR Puram

I had checked with the Insurance guys regarding the change of Registration Mark, i was told that all i need to do is send a scanned copy of the new RC and they will issue the insurance within 7 working days.
Pollution-check is pending forgot to ask the guy when i got the new one on the 12th ( just a day ahead of the RTO trip ) ... Hope dont have to spend another 120/- for a new one woth new registration number.
Number Plate- any idea on this if it has to be HSNP as there is a lot of hype happening over it. You can peel of the old number and write the new one on it, till you get the new one made !!

Planning to visit the RTO on Saturday to check the SC is ready with HR number.

I've got my insurance through Maruti dealer (National Insurance) - the lady there told me to simply walk-in with photo-copy of new RC and she'll do it immediately...with some 25/- as charges for the changes.

This time you'll get only a new RC with old HR number, and you have to wait for another three months for KA number...plus one month of waiting time..so you could use the same PUC for at least next four months :)

HSNP - again, your good old number / number-plate to will do for next 4 months. It is mandatory for new cars, but most of the old cars are still waiting for getting this. They never said anything while giving me my DL RC - had it been mandatory, they would have told so. I think a different process needs to be started for HSNP. I'm planning to go there on this Saturday to check the status of my KA number...will update here what did they tell me.

Visit between 3:30 and 4:30 only, as they won't entertain inquiry in other hours...at this hour the rush too is slightly less. Also, please bring the original acknowledgement.

Hey...although at the very last minute, but I did get my KA RC with KA number :) Yey!!! They dispatched it by post after exactly 30 days, and I received it today.

Remove Hypothecation and Re-Registration Process with RTO Bhopal

I have a questions regarding removing hypothecation from RC and NOC for other state.
I have purchased bhopal registered car on jan 2013 by a dealer in pune. At the time of purchasing, dealer promised me that he will make the registration of the car on my name with pune rto, and ill have new RC of my name. Its almost 7 months gone, but till now even dealer didnt get NOC from bhopal. There was HP on the rc which we didnt know till last month. Dealer has appoint agent in bhopal, as dealer doesnt know the process of bhopal rto. Now dealer's agent in bhopal again apply with all required documents with bank's NOC last month itself, already 10 to 15 days has gone but NOC has not been issued from bhopal rto. Every time agent tell us that process is going on.
Can any one tell me, how many days would bhopal rto usually takes to remove hypothecation from RC and issue NOC for re-registration.

Welcome to TAI. Your case sounds peculiar to me and not sure why the dealer or agent is unable to get the NOC. Maybe, they are not doing it at all.

BTW, any reason you purchased a car in Pune with MP registration?

No idea of Bhopal / MP, but in Delhi NOC takes around 10 days. Try taking RTI route - one of my friends had applied for LTT reimbursement from Bangalore RTO when he moved to Gurgaon. He had sent all the documents from post (speed-post), and when he didn't see anything / any reply for around 6 months, he sent an RTI application (with required fee and return stamped envelope etc.) and then in the reply he was told the reason (CRIT report needed). So try RTI route - you'll get the reply for sure, as well as the reason too.

hi kethfriend, am not sure of Bhopal RTO, but i had my RC fixed and NOC from Haryana while i was in Bangalore. The entire process was carried out by my Uncle who was a Brigadier in the army, he had put his contacts on duty and the entire process took like 45-60 days.

Welcome to TAI.
If the car's loan is fully paid, the bank has to issue an NOC to RTO and the owner(2 copies) which will be valid for only 90 days from date of issue. Please check with the Bhopal agent on the NOC date. If the date has passed 90 days, the original owner has to approach the bank for duplicate set of NOC by paying requisite charges.
In case all this is done, RTO NOC will be issued in name of original owner.

Yet to receive the SC with HR number. I had been to the RTO on the 10th day, and if you guys remember an old guy in the 2nd Floor with Spec's. Had shown the receipt to him, he seemed to be very well seasoned Government employee he dint bother to see what the receipt is all about looked at the date and said it's not 30 days and i would be receiving it by mail. Went on the again to the RTO on this Wednesday, same SGE this time he looked at the date and bothered to read the receipt. This time he maid me laugh, he said there is still one more day left . When i asked ok so is it done, leave the date. this guy directed me to the girl in the corner she checked something, said something in kanada, decoded it as " see him again". SGE read the receipt again, checked some SC's ( just 2-3 ) and said that it would be dispatched by tomorrow and i will receive it by mail tomorrow itself. hai !. Asked him if it hasn't been sent he could hand it to me now. He seemed to so confident with the Postal Department and was dead sure it will reach on 22nd. Again when i locked my horns to hand it to me now if its made. this time he mentioned " Speed Post". Damn !! SGE, what do i call it heights of laziness of working in a government office. I asked whats the use of this receipt when the 30 days expires and who is gonna explain the story to the cops. He gain confidently stated we are going you a receipt and it is valid for 30 days.
Result: Walked out cursing
