Yes, I recently got my Polo new model shadow blue. This thing looks great but the point is will it actually work as advertised?
Congrats! The new blue looks really good. Perfect Choice! [clap]
If you are planning to get one, try searching for someone who has got it on their car & ask their opinion. [:)]

Yes, it is HL. I'll post my ownership experience or atleast some pics :)
Waiting to see the beauty. [:)]

Update

On 27th March, planned a sudden trip to Kodaikanal (TN) at about 10:45pm at night. Then, as planned, left at 4am in the morning to cover our 390km journey on 28th March. Since, we left in the morning. It was easy for us to maintain a speed of 90-100kmph through the normally busy highways.
At 1:15pm reached kodaikanal through the ghats. At kodaikanal, the car had a tough time keeping up the steep hills with 6 people on board. Even if the car struggled a bit, it never gave up & never made our hopes die. Then as we reached our hotel, I noticed that the car's rpm was a lil bit over 1000rpm. I was worried but it naturally came down after reaching back home. Maybe it was due to the cold atmosphere.
We got ourselves ready & left for sightseeing the day we reached there. This continued the next day too (29th). At about 5:30pm started our return journey & reached home at 2:45am.

Observations after increasing the Ground Clearance

I'm glad that I increased the ground clearance of my beauty. Now, the car doesn't scratch its underbelly like before with 6 people on board. There is also no issue with the handling of the car. Its still sturdy & no bodyroll at high speeds. Was very impressed with the car's behaviour.

Distance Travelled (To & Fro) - 811km
Road Conditions -
  • 11% Ghat Roads
  • 4% Kodaikanal City (drove in 1st & 2nd gear at high rpm's)
  • 85% Highway (35% spirited driving)
Mileage (tankful method) - 15.5kmpl
Car's Odometer - 21xxxkm

Here are some pics:

Nice updates and photos Jihu, think heightening of the GC has made a significant mark by seeing your post,
just a question, with the increased GC do you find any amount of body roll when you drive at highways?
Last to ask the FE figures.

Good that GC has been increased and there's no negative affects of it.

By the way, which place is that wind mill farm if you remember? Sorry Mods for OT

Nice update. Loving all the pics.
I have taken a lot of pics. Posted only a few! [:)]

Yeah, it really did. I assume only the front end GC has been increased! Can't make out any difference from the rear end.
I expected increased body roll but to my surprise, the body & handling just feels intact.

Thanks. err... I don't actually remember. I guess its near Palani byepass, coimbatore road, SH-52. Not sure! [confused]

Great pics Jihu123. Your Polo is looking in great shape too. Even i am very happy with the increased Ground clearance of my Polo. Have taken it intentionally to places where i would have never taken it earlier and it didn't scrape even once giving me more confidence about its drive over bad roads. As you also mentioned, there has been really no change in the ride and handling of the car after the increased ground clearance. Highway stability is rock solid as before.
So how much did your Polo return on mileage front on this trip?

thanks. I remember you posting your opinion after increasing the GC. It gave me more confidence to go on & no regrets till date!
I have mentioned the mileage above. It gave me 15.5kmpl through 85% Highway (35% spirited driving), 11% Ghat Roads & 4% Kodaikanal City (drove in 1st & 2nd gear at high rpm's) on a total distance of 811km. I feel it gave an average mileage considering the kind of route the car drove on! [:)]

Glad to know that Jihu123. Turned out to be a wise decision i would say.

FE looks decent considering there was some hill drive involved too. Haven't been to Kodaikanal ever, but have heard a lot about that place. Had even planned to drive down with my school friends in Hyderabad(did my 11th & 12th from there) few years back, but that plan never got executed. Would surely plan a halt in Kodaikanal next time i am visiting south india.

Oh, that's nice to hear. It was my first trip to Kodaikanal. It's a real challenge to drive from their in traffic on steep hills!
Also, I forget to mention, it was my Mapmyindia which led me to almost 90% places in kodaikanal. It helped me to save time & not ask any persons through the route! [:)]

Guys, one thing which annoys me during the monsoons in my polo was that the windshield forms mist from outside when A/C is on. So I have to turn it off & open the windows. I don't know if anyone else has experienced this.
So I have found a solution for this from an aftermarket shop here. They are providing a Car Glass Sealant by which the water nor the droplets get stuck on the windshield. It slides all the way down or up considering the speed one is travelling. Infact, you don't even need to put on the wipers during rains.
Just check out this link & also the video to get a better idea.
Pureshield Range of Nanotechnology Products

My dad is interested in this & might get it installed. It costs 1500 bucks, but since the shop owner knows us well. He has decided to provide at 1200.
The only thing I wasn't impressed was that it lasts only 1 year or 10,000kms. So, it isn't a lifetime option!
