Another problem which was fixed was the rear Coil Spring Bush. It has been damaged. No idea how it happened. Came to know this when they said it. As a result replaced that too.

Hi ,

Even i changed the rear coil Spring Bush , One was damaged and i changed both instead of one.
Oh, I guess your polo has completed only 1st service. right? Sad to know that it got damaged so soon.
Also, did they give any reason for the damage? I wasn't there at the spot to ask them in my case [sad]

Hi,

Anyone here upsized the polo tires and alloys. I have upgraded to 205/55 R16 for my polo. I would like what % of FE drop they are experiencing. Also was there is acceleration drop?

I don't know anyone who have upgraded to 16" yet.
AFAIK, there will be about 2km FE drop & also a slight acceleration drop too.
Why don't you share your experience clearly here?

Its more than 2 years now owning the German beauty. Now, let me tell you my views in a very short unbiased way. I might have said this before but a short & small one to help out the new buyers if they are looking forward to get this German baby.

Pros
  • Great Quality
  • Excellent Handling
  • Effortless drive (not considering the engine)
  • Good Ride Quality
  • BIG Boot
  • Looks too Good
  • Solid Build Quality
  • Pride coz you own a German

Cons
  • Engine Lag
  • Rear Seat Legroom
  • High Maintenance Costs
  • Cannot be taken to local workshops
  • Under belly scrapes under Heavy load (only a few like me experience it )
  • Not so good re-sale value

Verdict: If your heart says that you want a polo, then consider the above cons before getting one. And people who think practically wouldn't find Polo a better bet. Well, infact, it isn't.
What I have to say is, if you have the Vitamin M to maintain & if you are sure that you are not a performance guy, then this is the car a auto enthusiast need to look.

Thanks. The hatches I prefer currently in this segment are Jazz, Polo & Punto. These are 3 hot hatches which are capable of doing wonders.
I haven't posted pics since the car is all stock & nothing new. Will post up some pics after getting a wash next time!

Last week I have upgraded my wheels and tires to 16 inch, it was used lenso bronze finish alloys and Hankook Ventus S1 evo 205/55/R16 tires both are in good condition. Well I was confused a lot before changing it like whether I should go for 15 instead of 16, 195 or 205 something like that. Finally I decided to with it.

Few things I noted:

GC increased almost 0.5 inches.
I did not find so much comfort reduction after changes 55 profile tires, shakes and bounces as same as before in the 'pot hole' roads of Kochi.
Noise is more for the tires in the bad road, but on highways it wont get noticed, tried bit of high speed cornering as looks steady [:)]
I almost completed 500 kms after changing wheels and not much issues to say, [:)]
Did not find any reduction in acceleration except in the first gear and steering became bit heavy [surprise].
And finally regarding FE, got 22 kmpl (full tank to full tank) during my last trip (60% highway and 40 % city traffic with 60 % AC), I think I did not get any bigger number
with stock tires

Thanks for sharing it.
I'm actually trying to convince my dad to go for alloys when a tyre change is required. Right now, its on R14 & I'm thinking of R15 only.
I'm glad that you aren't facing any problems with the 16". I thought it can be a bit of a risk.

Why don't you share the cost & also post a pic? Would love to see it.
In the meanwhile, try starting a ownership review too. [:D]

That's one sexy polo you have there buddy. It looks amazing!
Which variant do you own? Petrol or Diesel?
Also, I can see that you have black roof, GTi grille & projector setup too. Why don't you start yourself a new ownership thread. I would love to see a bunch of pics & even ask a lot on the mods too.

PS: Mods don't like going Off-topic.
