Yesterday mobile court fined me for having black vinyl on the roof

They fined you? Seriously? What was the reason and how much was the fine? Unbelievable. Rishi Raj is taking things overboard now. They should first do something about the potholes and lack of streetlights first before fining for petty things such as sunfilms and black roofs.

Fining for black roof? What stupid law is that? This is something what you call as poking your nose into other's business.

Tell them even those government buses have blackened roofs and they should first be fined.

The were full gang with mobile court including a magistrate and lot of cops and MV inspector at Edappilly. They caught so many for so many reason, catching all black roofed cars . I was fined for 900 rupees, I didnt have PUCC also. But first I see someone fined for black roof In that any kind of sticker works also illegal ? Benz and BMWs coming with black roof from factory and they also illegal ?

That is the stupidest thing I've heard. This is the Kerala traffic police being desperate for money. I see no other reason. Makes me hate them even more.

Fining for black roof is like the worst thing which can ever happen. I don't think there is a law saying you can't have black roof. That morons just wanted to make some quick money. Bloody idiots!
I don't know where will this head sooner. The mobile court is getting stupider day by day. Here, too in kannur, mobile court makes stupid unbelievable laws & fine us.

BTW, what is this mobile court you people are talking about? Forgive me for asking but I have no idea. I don't think there are any mobile courts in Trivandrum or Kollam? Unless it's a building because I haven't seen any traffic police vehicles with mobile court written on it.
And yes. Fining for a black roof is pathetic. I mean. It's our car. We paid for it. We aren't changing the colour of the entire car. Only the roof. And we have to pay fines for that? Jeez

Mobile Court is the RTO Officials. They can stamp our car as not fit to drive anytime.
One of my friend's brand new Eon was confiscated for not sticking the "Registered temp No." on the number plate area.

Actually Mobile court is not just RTO officials, but with a van with a Magistrate and other court officials, they gives the notice and do all formalities and fine us on the sport..all so fast. This pace we dont see in the road construction or 0ther things

Lol. That was funny. If only they filled the potholes and fixed streetlights that fast too.

I don't think we have mobile courts here because I have never seen any in TVM/KLM.

simple law , as per RC book the color of his polo was white if we need to change any colour should specifed in RC , they can argue on the same point ! helpless here

To an extent, its true. But what would be the case of those cars which comes black roof as standard from manufacture. I remember Indica Vista Special Edition in White with Black roof. AFAIK, in the RC also its stated as White itself.
Either the RTO needs to clearly explain that this is not legal or else they should stop fining the innocent people.

Our polo had an accident yesterday. Was going down a slope while the Innova in the front braked hard in response to the car in his front. Unfortunately, couldn't stop the car on time & rammed on Innova's rear bumper. Due to physics playing role. Our car's front grille hit on the Innova's rear bumper. Was completely heartbroken yesterday.

Damaged parts:
Front Grille
Bonnet
Right Headlight holder
Right Quarter Panel

Is it possible to claim Insurance in these cases?

Gave the car to VW ASS on monday. Everything went fine & the ASS said an approx. cost of INR 1000 after bumper to bumper insurance. We were relieved after hearing that but only now we came to know that the insurance company fooled us.

I remember my dad comparing the insurance amount with different other companies & it was reliance which gave the least amount for renewal. We had asked for a bumper to bumper insurance but they now say that the insurance which they provided to us is the normal ones & we have to pay 50% of the amount for bumpers n stuffs.

Have attached the pics of the car before giving to ASS. :(

If it is B2B insurance why you need to pay 50% ? Also you could have asked for compensation from the Innova if it was their mistake.
