Hi Jihu,

Try to slow down a bit early while approaching a speed breaker or pot holes, don't attempt to break at neck of speed breaker. TDI variant got factory fitted engine protection sheet beneath, believe me it's quite tough and reliable. For your piece of mind you can also get add on steel sheet beneath that too for 1-2K bucks. Are you using after market mudflaps?

Regards,
TG

That's good news. I am sure it won't be an eye sore any more. You can get the bend straighten later. Regarding the underbelly scraping too often, I guess you should get the underbody engine protection guard to prevent any possible damages. I guess ToughGuy has installed it on his Polo. You could ask him.
Yeah, thanks. Will check on that!

Yeah, we do the same except when my sister's husband drives [frustration].

I know that. That's what saved my car all this while. But have noticed that it doesn't cover all the parts. [cry]

Hmm, where will I able to get that?
Na, using the original VW Polo ones.

Really sorry to see those scratch marks on your car jihu123. Clearly someone has bruised past your car. Even our Fiesta got rear ended a week back when it was parked and I happened to be there right next to the car when the incident took place. Its a real pain to keep your car scratch free these days with the ever increasing traffic and so many morons out on the road with absolutely no driving sense. This is the third time it got hit in a span of 15days and each time the car was just parked and that too all three times parked on different locations.

That's my Fiesta which got hit, though there were no major damages, the car has gone for repair and would be back on Monday.

The Santro which rear ended our car, was being driven by an elderly person. So I saw no point in fighting with him, even though it was completely his fault. His car was damaged quite heavily.

Looks like some street scum tried to steal your no plates. When they failed, they scratched your car as revenge.
Hmm. But over here, street scums are like very very rare & I haven't parked the car anywhere except for some relative's house and at an hospital. [confused]
I believe its either some truck or goods auto or something.

Also, atleast the santro guy deserved it. His damage is more severe! [evil]

Don't know which one is VW using for Polo/Vento but the closest you can get to it is with the - Roots windtone. One of my friends have it installed it in his Swift and they sound pretty much like my Polo's horn. Otherwise you can also try Hella twin tone or Bosch Symphony.

Monsoon Update.

Monsoon has made the car's odometer buttons rough, it gets stuck in the pressed position. Also, the door handles, key turner also has turned hard & really rough due to moisture. I guess it can't be sorted out through WD-40 but anyone else experiencing it? [:)]

Update - Brake Pads Changed

Last week, there was slight vibration from the front brakes. But then since it wasn't severe, we thought it might be because of water on the discs. But later, yesterday, the vibration became very severe & harsh. So we were sure that the brake pads were completely worn but since it was already 6pm. Couldn't visit the VW Service Centre & also had to do quite a lot of running.
Today morning went to the service centre to get it changed. We went there in the morning & told one of the sales guy there about it. He said, "Okay sir, let me check!". And then he started some hard braking tests as if he knows everything about it. The tyres screeched around 4-6 times. And the worse part is, he said the pads were normal after all this & he insisted on getting it cleaned. After about 10 mins he came to us saying the brake pads are worn out [anger]. Was a bit annoyed on that part but father kept silent.

Since the brake pads were almost completely worn out. It resulted in slight damage on the rotors too. Since it isn't severe, dad decided to continue with it. The sales guy insisted on getting it changed but dad denied it [:D].
Now I regret not checking the brake pads last week.

Here are the bill details:

Part - 1 set of Brake Pads for dt = 1,572
Labour - Brake Pads Replaced = 450

Total = Rs 2,306 including all taxes

Attaching pics of brake pad! One of them is completely flat [cry]

Good to know Jihu123 that you got the brake pads changed. The left one seems to be completely worn out. How many kilometers has your car done? It will give me a rough idea as an when to get my brake pads also checked. Is the vibration issue sorted now with the new brake pads?

Sorry for the late response. I log on to internet rarely these days!
My brake pads has been changed pretty early due to varying drivers. Changed it at 26400kms.
The salesguy insisted on changing the brake rotors saying there will be vibration but it feels totally fine.

Update.

Last week, repaired all the dents & painted it from a local paintshop. And already got few scratches within 6 days! [anger]

After the paint job, noticed that the front passenger seat is shaking when pushed from the side. Some nut has probably gone loose. Therefore, its making *squeak* noise when an average adult sits & the car goes on to a pothole. Also, there is a very slight rattle from the rear part. I feel it is from the boot lid. Not sure though since its very minute rattle! [thinking]
Would probably sort these issues out when the car goes for service in Sept last or so!

Got the 2nd service done for the polo. Had booked an appointment at VW Kannur last week for today.

Problems Faced/Rectified - The front passenger seat when pushed, starts shaking bad as if the bolt is loose. Told about this to the Service Centre & what they told was the bolt or something was ill fitted by someone else by putting cloth to hold up tight. Since the guy had used inappropriate spanner n stuff. It resulted in damage of the bolt. I don't know what exactly happened as it was my dad who got the service done. This must have caused from the aftermarket shop from where the seat covers were stitched. [frustration] As a result, had to shell out another 1.5k. The changed part has been listed below in the invoice details.
Another problem which was fixed was the rear Coil Spring Bush. It has been damaged. No idea how it happened. Came to know this when they said it. As a result replaced that too.

the Invoice Details:

Labour Details

Periodic Maintenance Charge - 1,500
Coil Spring Bush Replaced - 500
Front LH Seat R & R - 300
Front LH Sear Bolt Frame Welding & Spotting Done - 1,250

Parts Details

Oil Filter Polo D - 310
Fuel Filter 2 - 1,124
Air Filter 620 - 342
Dust & Pollen Filter - 497
Drain Plug - 136
Packing 49B - 663

Oil & Lubricants

Engine Oil -4L - 3283
Engine Oil -1L - 847

Total - 10,75x + 1,48x (taxes) - Rs 12,239
Now have to get Wheel Alignment done from outside. Odo is at 28,4xx!

Will post a brief 2 year ownership review & post what I love and what I don't about this beautiful babe next week when car turns 2. [glasses]
