No dhaya, Rs. 2820 for fuel filter, clutch pedal nut, WD40, door switch & labour cost of fuel filter, door switch, spring pivot & clutch pedal adjustment.

best part about mahindra's A.S.S is cost of spares are cheap but labour charge is sky high.

this is what i read from the scorpio website:

Labour charges for services rendered are by an hourly flat-rate as per A, B, C classified cities. These have been pre defined by M&M and each job is charged by the standard number of hours that is necessary for the job. (The calculation will be done on the basis of - hours for job multiplied by flat rate for the city. For example: If you’re in Mumbai, where the hourly rate is Rs. 375. A two and half hour job would be charged at Rs. 375 x 2.5 hours = Rs 937.50.
so if i look at my bill,

1) labour charge for replacing fuel filter: Rs. 230 = 0.61 hrs = approx 37 mins (do they need 37 mins to change a fuel filter?)
2) door switch: Rs. 80 = 0.21 hrs = 13 mins (reasonable)
3) clutch pedal adjustment = Rs. 110 = 0.3 hrs = 18 mins (reasonable)
4) spring pivot DR SH = Rs. 380 = 60 mins (i dont know what this means!)

Guys, i have an incident to share:

A close friend of mine was interested in the scorpio or safari. 3 days back, he was test driving the scorpio & was driving at around 70-80 kmph when the sales guy was explaining something about the auto wipers & he looked down to see the switch & missed a cyclist cutting across his path. to avoid the cyclist, he had to swerve hard to the left & braked hard. there was a 6 ft deep ditch on the left & the vehicle went nose first into the ditch! except the sales guy, everybody was wearing a seat belt & nobody got hurt. my friend was damn scared as he says the general policy is you will have to shell out 60% of the expenses if you damage the test drive vehicle.

a crane had to be called to pull the scorpio out of the ditch. To his suprise, except a scratch & small dent on the front bumper, the vehicle was totally intact & fine. the vehicle was taken to the A.S.S for a complete examination, especially of the suspension & everything was found to be alright with the only expense being some Rs. 2000 of painting front bumper. As a goodwill gesture, they dint claim any compensation from him.

the next day he went to the same showroom & booked a black Scorpio VLX 4x2. he seems to be very impressed by the vehicle's build. his message to me reads- "dude, the scorpio is truly mightly muscular!"

Hmmm labour charges are definitely on the higher side!

Service planner is interesting! Will be great if they can really keep track of all the vehicles and service dues. You submitted your chassis number?

That's a pretty sad incident to hear but the best part is Scorpio's build , nobody is hurt and no compensation too! What happened to the SE actually? He must have got some minor injuries atleast i guess. That' s a big mistake which everybody do while TD. Even when i went to TD some cars the SE told me to fiddle with some controls beneath and in the side but i said i will test it later after i finish driving , i din want to risk damaging the TD car and then pay for it!

Don think am boasting but the Safari has also an equally good sturdy body which can withstand impacts like these![:D]

OT:Hey buddy din get my PM?

Also, came across this SERVICE PLANNER thingy. Good initiative by Mahindra.

Anyone tried it?
Raj this service planner doesn't works.
I have updated my ODO reading, by entering chassis no etc.
You will get a reply thanks for registering.
But no further updates later.
So no use registering there.
-----------Next Post-----------
@ Raj why would they ever claim from a potential buyer.
Good to know that your friend was wearing his seat belt.
You would have suggested your friend 4X4.

Read from another forum that a SX4 was being test driven & it crashed into a divider. the guy was actually bullied by the A.S.S to pay the entire expenses.

Bad that the online portal is not working , it would be great if they can do something like it. Now one small incident which strikes me! When i was TD the Jetta i was waiting in a signal. Suddenly a Tavera cab standing in front of me starting reversing and i started honking but that moron still kissed the Jetta. I was about to get down but the SE said no problem you carry on must be only a small scratch. And when i finished the TD and reached the showroom the SE checked for any damages luckily nothing happened.

The point is , you need not be a potential buyer its the dealer's attitude that matters.

@ Raj Hey thats great to hear! Even my college is 40 kms away from city and so to and fro almost 85kms daily. My Verna will clock the kms in no time next year just like your car.

Friends, for the past 3 days, i feel that my mHawk's brakes are not as affective as before. i am feeling that you really need to push the brake pedal inside for the car to halt from a high speed.

my car's odo reading is 40k kms & just 5k kms before (35,000 service), the A.S.S. had changed the brake pads. so i dont think the brake pads have worn out.

i also suspected air in the brake line but i think when that happens, the pedal becomes hard. in my car, the pedal is not hard at all.

so what could be the reason? i just need a second opinion before i visit the A.S.S so that i am not unnecessarily looted by them!

also, my car's clutch pedal has become a bit hard. what could be the reason? what can be done? no clutch related work has been done on my car till now.

Raj i think the suspect is clutch bleeding.
The clutch needs to be repaired.
To know the problem press the clutch & while depressing do you hear some sound(Not the spring action).

If brake pads have been replaced recently, i think the tyre has worn.
So you my be feeling the brake is not enough.

Had your car followed a routine tyre rotation in frequent intervals???

no, the tyre has not been rotated but the tyre has not worn at all, atleast visibly from outside.
