Since XUV already has some black mass in the form of Hexagon Mesh, Painting the cheetah "Teeth" Black will give it a strange Mustache like feel.
Instead, try going for De-chrome around the vehicle or Paint your all chrome accents Black/Dark chrome (like Logos, Emblems, Font, Headlight surrounds, Door handle Garnishes etc.

Thanks for chipping in. Both of you are correct. Dark chrome looks interesting. Let's see if this works. But stickering job will be easy and economical on the pocket. Thanks again for quick revert, and for giving me options.

My XUV was visiting Bhopal for the last 4 days.
It's a very beautiful place.I loved the ambience of the city and its surroundings.Tourist destinations were very much eye pleasing with the perfect Jan weather,and less crowd.

As usual the XUV performed flawlessly.It was a pleasure to drive it on all sort of terrains as there was lots of road work going on around Bhopal.

Stepney bracket has a tendency to make scoring/scratch marks on the alloy. I devised a jugaad in order to protect the alloy.This is actually foam sleeve for all the 3 brackets.
Problem is that there is very less space for the packing of tyre.If I put a thicker rubber bush(which I have already tried),the winch will not be able to pull up the tyre fully,and the tyre will hang further down and move about in potholes.That is even more dangerous and damaging for the alloy.Ideally there should be no movement at all between the bracket and the tyre.They should behave as a single unit when the car is bouncing around on broken roads.
This jugaad so far worked well in the last trip.Lets see how long it lasts.
XUV has a Multilink type of rear suspension,with anti roll bar.This is a far superior suspension set up than the conventional torsion bar setup seen in almost all the cars in market today. Suspension is not very soft but is well suited for actual Indian road conditions .Of late I was noticing that there has been few rust spots in the rear suspension.In the lockdown all the paint shops were closed so I used the olive green paint left over with me. I sanded up the rusted areas and painted with metal primer.After that I used 2 coats of paint to finish the painting job.All of this job required multiple trips of crawling beneath the rear of the XUV. Thankfully there is just enough ground clearance in the rear portion of XUV,to get this job done without anybody's help.
I did not raise the car on jack or any such thing.I did not remove any wheel for this painting job.I did not use any special tool for this DIY .Just the old conventional way of sanding and painting !
Just in the last post I had shared the clear pictures of rusted suspension. You can scroll back just a little bit and compare the before and after pictures .

Please try rubber tyre tube to make the padding
XUV has very few rust spots overall,as compared to say my erstwhile swift. Moreover I have used it more roughly than my other cars.In that way it has top notch paint quality and underbody corrosion protection.Still there are some rare spots where rust starts appearing because of underbody stone damages and chipping. I constantly look out for them. For that I have to crawl under my XUV many times. तुम गाड़ी के नीचे ज्यादा बैठे मिलते हो, सीट पर कम मिलते हो,complains my wife all the time . Maybe she is correct. But I have no complaints. I love, loving my XUV!!
Excellent Information. However I must say we Both are slightly Lucky.
As I am also a part of XUV whatsapp Group, I see tons of Complaints regards to rust. People have had their entire doors, Boot Etc replaced in warranty due to rust. Front Door rust is most common.
Some of the lug nuts are turning round at the edges. I changed them to new to avoid potential problems in future. I suppose rounding off happened due to over torquing/ over tightening of the bolts by power wrenches. I don't remember doing this myself. No puncture- wala has ever touched my XUV. So that is ruled out. Now I will request to avoid power tools at the MASS.
These are M14 sized bolts.
New lug nuts are pricey. At Least they will last for a while.
These are some pics from the last DIY. I noticed that XUV has full and complete plastic cladding in the rear wheel wells. In a time like these, when car manufacturers are skimping on these features and doing cost cutting,and proving partial or sometimes no plastic cladding at all in the wells ,I am pleased to see Mahindra not doing any cost cutting here.
