Nice pictures! Does your car floor mat gets wet during heavy rains? Do check that. In my car the floor is wet (Front and middle row) horribly under rains. I am unable to find the spot from where the water comes inside.

I just logged in to seek help on the very same issue and saw your post. Even in my Safari the front mat (driver side) is getting wet. Earlier I thought it could be due to AC condensation dripping in. But that's not the case. Haven't driven my Safari since yesterday evening, still the mat is considerably wet. Its pouring pretty heavily in Pune since morning and now I am convinced that somehow the water is getting inside over the mat.

Need to fix this immediately else it would damage the mat as well as rust the floor. Any help in this regard would be appreciated.

As suggested by @mastersquall, where exactly do I need to check near windshield? Only the bottom (flat) part of the mat is wet, not the one that extends behind clutch/brake pedals.

Thanks.

There is no leak either from windshield and there is not rust either. I have got them checked. I think the water is getting in through the window glass beading. I have removed the mats and putted news papers in place of them so that they absorb the water and I keep them changing every day. Am clueless at now about this thing.

@mercedised & umalkars: Have you removed the carpet and checked the floor for any missing grommets?

@umalkars:In the last picture, one can see your Safari parked with the steering turned to the right. Whenever you park your Safari, please ensure that the wheels are straight. The Safari has a hydraulic power steering steup. If the vehicle is parked with the wheels turned to either side, the pressure built up in the hudraulic line could cause it to rupture leaving you with a failed power steering.

The carpet gets wet only when the car is stationary, on move this does'nt happens I have checked several times.

The power steering thing, you're right this is indeed the case with all of the hydraulic steering systems. Whenever I park the vehicle I do ensure this, but I have gone mad making others (my brothers) understand the same thing and they just ignore it everytime.[anger]

Will surely park the vehicle with straight wheels henceforth.

Will check for missing grommets, but how would water enter a stationary vehicle even if they are missing?

Please get the A/C drain pipe.lot many times A/C drain is the reason for the wet floor in the car. If not then the Floor is culprit

@ sam dinkar is this hydraulic line theory applicable for all vehicles with power steering (electro hydraulic setup) ? As far as I know these hydraulic lines are good enough to take the initial pressure surge, yes but age is a factor other than that it shouldn't be a problem. Pls correct me if am wrong .

Just checked the rear (middle seat) RH mat and surprisingly even there's moisture below it. Need to quickly find out the root cause for this. Door/window beading seems fine. What else could be the reason?

Just an update, got wheel alignment done on Sat (Aug 5). Also, had to top up the engine oil. There's minor leakage, will probably get it fixed during next servicing.

Also, the AC drain pipe is also fitted properly, it had become loose I guess.

Either the AC vent is clogged or the tube connected to the condensor has come off. Please get both these things checked.

I just hope that the engine oil leak is nothing major. Initial batches of 3.0 Dicors were notorious for engine oil leak problem from their sumps.
