These things are on priority

1. Servicing this Saturday -- Will replace existing mineral oil with fully synthetic oil. Also need to check the mileage. Currently it is hovering between 18-19 kmpl in not so congested city traffic.
2. Will try out Octavia door rubber beading on all four doors. What about the hatch door? Any pointers?
3. For sound deadening I am getting dynamat extreme superlite one sheet for 600 INR. Will require 4 sheets only for door and one extra for the hatch.
However the service guy mentioned that I can go for all doors damping and use 3M anti rust under body thick coat - I don't know whether it is the right way to go.

Then the seat covers and rear parking sensors. Also will be getting the android phone to act as a proper MID. I have found a good space on the speedometer to fit the phone. So that I can have speed and RPM as well. Next in line will be alloys and philips extreme vision bulbs.

After servicing, will get the fresh snaps.

10000 service update. Mine is the face-lifted model.

Things done --
1. Oil and oil filter change -- Technician advised for mineral oil only. Synthetic was too costly.
2. Brake cleaning
3. Engine check
4. Windshield washer fluid change
5. Wheel rotation, alignment
6. Good wash
7. Change of front and rear shocks --Twist before giving the car to service by the technician--
My service technician came to me and stopped the service adviser from making the service card. We took the car on rough road and he himself mentioned that we will change all the four shocks under warranty. I was like what..
He mentioned that few days ago Toyota came up with new improved shocks both front and rear to eliminate the hardness of shocks. Please see below the part numbers and pictures.
Result -- Car has become smooth on roads.
I took the smiles pack for Rs 3487/- for a year which covers 10k and 20k servicing. My regular bill would had been 1900/- for 10k service. By smiles pack I have got 2 3M interior cleaning, 2 free pick up and drops, 2 full car wash for free.

Mileage update -- Latest check the car gave me 19.90 with 100% AC on in not so congested city driving.

Front shock being changed, part numbers for front and rear shocks. Also notice the Bosch make brake assembly --

Friends,
After exactly a year sold my liva diesel off. I got a good price and now I am hunting for a petrol car now. Though the car was really good, my daughter and wife were not comfortable in the car, my daughter used to get a sense of vomiting every-time she sat in the car. I think she was allergic to diesel.

So the car is sold and I am looking for good used, new petrol cars (good hatchback, sedan preferably automatic).

OMG! that news was fast, yes diesel cars doesn't suit many people in my family too, especially the diesel clatter makes people nauseous and uncomfortable.Sorry to say Liva had worst damping toyota ever gave and it wasn't upto the mark.

Suggest you try for Maruti Celerio AMT, might suit you better, won't suggest an used Automatic sedan. Or if you can see into Hyundai again I10 Grand would suffice your needs.

Liva is good except on comfort. Hence had to sell it off. Let's see, my hunt has started and I will be going ahead with broader perspective and will TD all cars.
Will go for grand i10 auto provided they offer me ABS and airbags, which are missing.

Wow...Liva and Etios are good cars but somehow it is not a family car. You can look for Honda Amaze petrol.

That was indeed a quick decision. Just curious, in what context the car didn't feel comfortable? I found the seats quite supportive and spacious last time I tested one.

I used to get a headache, my daughter and wife used to get a vomiting feeling. May be we are allergic to diesel. Otherwise it was the cheapest and best hatchback with necessary things. It used to give me 22kmpl in city driving with 100% AC on. Very good visibility, excellent legroom, easy to use controls good pickup and excellent quality Bosch make ABS, EBD and Airbags and brakes.

Do not worry, cars are bought to travel comfortably and not to yield anything out of it, so which car have you decided for? Why don't you give a try for Honda Brio?
