Amiti, many congratulations for your Liva. I went through the complete thread and while reading it, I was wondering what made you buy this car knowing the fact that this Toyota has earned not so good reputation during the early days of its launch.

It was then, when I struck upon the D4D engine pic. Now thats the real gem and a reliable mill which has already proven itself in the Innova. And with revised interiors, Liva has further graduated to a bit posh territory. Many congrats once again. Wish you lacs of happy miles[cheers].

EDIT: Dont you think 16k is a big amount you spent on sunfilms knowing the fact that they are banned? Hope the Pune cops are allowing those films.
Akash, I was also in a dilemma, had three cars on my radar as mentioned earlier, Punto 90hp, dezire zdi and liva. After punto liva has excellent brakes. Also coupled to it the d4d engine and low maintainence costs.

Yes I now think, that I should have had gone for low grade sun films. However I found 3M CR 70 better and no issues on visibility front. I had earlier enquired with the traffic cops. They said 50% is allowed. I took a risk, which I know is not sensible at all.

The seats look good. Can you let me know the brand and where can I get those?
I am afraid but they are not branded. You can get them made from any reputed installer but the quality due to which people like them is the material(of-coarse) and the fitting. They are commonly known as "Bucket Fitting Covers".

Its dampmat without any second thoughts, one of my friend is using it, its a VFM product and as good as Dynamat extreme.
I had a talk with Monty from Dampmat. He has given the price of 8990/- for one bulk pack. I want to damp the floor and boot as of now. Was bit busy hence could not order the same.

I have second thought, I am going for floor lamination. Instead of dampmat, if I use yoga mats or similar material and then laminate, will it reduce the engine noise. As this would be much cheaper. Any ideas?

Update on mileage front. Had been recently to Dapoli.(4 adults, 1 kid, full boot). While coming back we came via Kashedi>> Poladpur >> Mahabaleshwar >> wai >> Pune. 3 ghats all climbs average speed 25-40 km/hr speed till wai. Most horrible part was, we were stuck just near to katraj tunnel for 3 hrs. Car at idle with Ac on. Car gave a mileage on 17.91 kms/lt. Not bad I guess for Liva diesel.

Below is a snap from Dapoli.

Better get the underbody rust treatment done, as lamination can give you nightmares. Water coming out of AC drain(sometimes the pipe can get blocked) can lead to rusting of floor and you won't know due to lamination.

Congrats on your new car! White looks awesome. I have recently bought the facelifted Liva Diesel GD-SP (Grey). I have also upgraded my stock (MRF - 175/65 R14) to Bridgestone Potenze GIII (185/65 R14). I have a query regarding the tyre pressure. What is the tyre pressure that you are maintaining after upgrade? Please let me know.

I am also looking for sound deading material for my Liva Diesel. Have you done it already? Please provide your inputs.

I haven't done it as yet. However I have found one good material which is light in weight.

Dynamat Superlite. Much lighter and good quality. Price quoted 1000 rs for one sheet.
I guess I will need 6-7 sheets for entire floor. Will be doing soon.

chansek, how are tires and whats your mileage after changing the tires. I got my tires changed for 2500/- INR all inclusive for five of them.

Thanks. Please let me know your feedback on the Dynamat Superlite. I will also go for them.

My first service (1000kms) is complete. I have clocked 2100 kms in 20 days. I am getting a mileage of 20kmpl in the upsized tyre(185/65 R14) with highways speeds not crossing 120kmph. Never got to measure the mileage with stock tyres since I sold them immediately after the car delivery(2800 per tyre for exchange(MRF - 175/65R14) and 4600 per tyre for the new size). I went for Bridgestone Potenza GIII since it is a proven tyre for many years than My-01 or My-02. Bridgestone Potenza GIII has excellent wet and dry braking; moreover the upgrade is worth it since the ride quality and handling improved very well over the stock tyre which I observed during the TD's of the car. Stock handling is good with the new suspension. But upsize improved the ride quality very well.

I am maintaining a tyre of pressure 33psi(front) and 30psi(back). What is the tyre pressure which you are maintaining after the upsize?

I am maintaining 32 all round. I haven't checked straight line highway mileage as yet. On highways with couple of ghat sections and 3 hours traffic jam I got 17.81kms/lt

Amit, thats good FE figures that you are getting. But i guess the Liva should be getting more FE compared to Etios as a friend who owns one gets very similar mileage on his etios.
Get 3M underbelly protection would get the sound levels to much lower zone along with Dampmats, they are equally good as dynamats but if you can go for dynamats they are the best ones to opt for.
