I just observed yesterday, I was riding back home from office late night around 10 pm. road was pretty empty, the RPM indicator was around 1.5K RPM and Speed was around 70Kmph. I was on 5th Gear.
The engine noise was absolutely nil. I could not hear a thing except a very faint whine. there were no vibration at all. I kept cruising for the next 4 -5 min before some idiotic rick came in between and had to brake, change gears.
I was absolutely amazed to hear such a silent beast. Generally i can hear the GRRRR sound which is normal for a diesel engine. But that drive it was super silent. I turned off my music, still no sound of engine, then i rolled the windows down, could only hear the wind.
My question is has anybody felt this? Or is there some issue with the engine of my car. (Seriously I dont think there should be any issue, but the super silent engine has just knocked me off. ;) )

My advice: Just pop the hood and check if there is an engine inside. As TATA is cheating customers big time. You never know, you'll fine Karl Slym himself inside, pulling the car for you.

@ vicky , Lovely thread .
White was my favorite color in storme , but after watching the pic posted by you , with that blue additiona to the headlight , I have changed my likings.

For exterior paint protection , meguir's paint sealent treatment is best and vfm option .IIRC , I got it done @3k INR 1~ half year back for my sedan.. It not only removed previous swirl marks but also prevents them while cleaning it now.
BTW ,70 K INR for 3 M is too much .

I beg to differ , I am against converting the whole cluster in to blue, whatever has been done by viky is enough.

Till date I have filled in approx fuel worth of Rs 3000. In litres its approx (18x3 =54 Ltrs) I have driven only in Hyderabad bumper to bumper traffic with AC on All the time. the tank is not empty yet but i guess would give me another 50 odd KMs inthe remaining amount. This gives me close to 10 KMPL. is it on the lower side? what should i do to increase the fuel efficiency?
New Issues:
1. the Front right hand side door knob when pulled slowly tends to slip and in instantenously in the second attempt opens the door as if there was no issue. I have observed it 3 times.
2. Some times when the engine RPM is around 1-1.5 K, the engine kinds of gives the growling noise as if some valve has opened. Observed it 2 times. I was on 3rd gear. Speed was around 40 kmph. Is it that I was on a wrong gear at wrong speed? The other time it happend i dont recollect the gear and speed but the RPM was around the same range. Is this an issue? No Idea. Pick up, acceleration NVH are all as before no change, wonderful performance.

Congratulations on black beast. My favorite color but i had to settle for White. Which is also damn good. I think you are referring to the same engine noise that i was getting. Check my post. May be we can meet somewhere near kondapur. I can also bring Gurrala74, we both stay near by. I have not yet rectified all my issues as another 400 kms and will go for the 5K service. Also the person , team lead, i know at Concorde service gone to pune for Training. We can have a short meet. I stay at Miyapur MH46 :). I am from MH12 :)

Hi everyone,
I have found one issue, the alpine player in the car is not able to play the songs from Nokia or Android or Blackberry phones (when connected via USB cable)
If I use USB drives (4GB/8GB) it plays without any issue. Is this how the player works or that I have issue in my player?

Yes did that but invain. Cannot read it infact I tried with HTC Widlfire (And ver 2.2) and MMX Canvas HD (And Ver 4.2)

Most factory fitted systems face this kind of issue.But wait for a Safari owner to comment about the Alpine system though.
Have you tried an iphone or an ipod?
What does the display on the player say when you connect your phone to it?
