Hello,
Dear sir,
A quick question. I bought a pre owned car (City ivtec sapphire blue) a month back
Heartiest congratulations and welcome to Honda City family.
I am wondering what can I do to keep the dust to minimum. I also face the issue of bird droppings, thanks to metallic color ;)
With a good quality wax, dust attraction can be minimized and if any, can be easily removed with car duster. I also noticed Proklear RAW products reduce dust attraction to surface but car shampoo increases.
I was wondering, should I get only 3m Auto Speciality Shampoo (For wash) + Formula 1 carnauba wax (for waxing) and Formula 1 tyre shine (for tyres). Or get Abro premium which has wax in it and skip the 3M + Formula 1 combo.
These are recommended products from me:
Sonax Car Wash Shampoo
Muc-Off Ubershine Car Shampoo (Good product but hard to find now)
Armor All Wash & Wax (Most of their other products are good too)
Proklear's WAW (Wash & Wax Shampoo)
Proklear's RAW Xtreme CX (Waterless Wash & Wax)
Meguiar's Hi-Tech Yellow Liquid wax (Available in Flipkart for ~750)
Mothers California Gold Synthetic Wax (Available in Ebay India for ~1000)
Menzerna Sealing Wax Protection (Available in Amazon and Paytm for ~300)
Menzerna Power Protect Ultra (Available in Paytm for ~400) (This is a AIO type wax. It has cleaning, polishing, filling and protection abilities so you don't have to use multiple products. Saves time, effort and money. You can use this once a year.)
Meguiar's Black Wax (Available in Paytm for ~1000) (AIO type wax, same as above)
Proklear's SX Car Wax Spray (Application is little difficult but durability is great)
Optimum OCW4 Car Wax (Expensive but very durable and protects from UV rays)
Note: Shampoo that has high cleaning ability (i.e bug and tar cleaner) will strip wax coating so make sure you buy a mild shampoo. However, when you want to apply new wax, you can use strong shampoo.
Also should I need something seperately for polishing? And I am yet to get something to keep the alloys good (May be Formula 1 Foam Wheel cleanser?) Please help.
Separate product for wheel cleaning is not really necessary and car shampoo works fine for it but still I have bought Wavex Alloy Wheel Cleaner and will post review soon in
Car Detailing Basics thread. For more queries on car maintenance and detailing, feel free to ask in that thread.
Thanks...
Best Regards
