Congrats. Good you are getting complete unit, cable and fog switch.
If you want exactly like OE, then you have to go for Philips/Osram H11 55W regular, clear bulb. If it is really for fog purpose and better road illumination don’t go for any LED type.
One must be cautious if want to go for higher wattage as we are not sure about the quality of the lamp unit housing plastic.
I would go for this that is CREE H11 LED BULBS. I feel the following one will be better than what presently I have.

MY ALBUS: GOT THE BEST HUD APP

Hope, many of our friends would have read and even tried a HUD display after reading my earlier article.
http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...ew-honda-city-white-albus-103.html#post507999

I am sure; some of you may not be pleased as you would have missed the following steps.

 Got the best APP
 Selected the Phone
 Located the ideal Dash place
 Made reflection perfect
 Improved the GPS reception
 Happy, & enjoying.

GOT THE BEST APP

There are so many so called HUD APPs for Android phones.
My analysis categorized them based on their reflection as:

A. Reflects real-time data as connected to car’s OBDII port via Bluetooth (but No Navigation/MAP)

B. Reflects Simple (OR) Multiple data via GPS
1. Only speedo meter
2. Speedo Meter + Distance + Time + others like Battery/GPS signal etc.,
3. Navigation Arrow (Running on background map) + Data as in serial 2
4. Navigation Arrow (Running on background map) + Data as in serial 2+ communication like phone/ FB/ SMS

My choice was a free (without annoying ADs) or least expensive APP, reflecting bold minimal data like speed, distance, time and navigation.
I have downloaded and tried many (More than 20) applications but most of them failed to satisfy me. I wanted a simple design which does not distract our driving. The digits should be editable for color and background, preferably with bigger, pleasing fonts. Most importantly the navigation arrow should work seamlessly on real time background with Google Map.
I rejected without prejudice some of the best rated APPs, as they are cluttered, loaded very slowly, Google Map not properly integrated. Example –HUDWAY, DigiHUD Pro Speedometer, Ulysse Speedometer, Navier HUD Navigation, GPS HUD Speedometer, Z-NAV Z-HUD Navigation, Custom HUD Speedometer, Vision HUD (good but with Ads), Simple HUD (HubInSoft Inc.) and GPS Navigation & Maps Sygic.

The 3 APPs satisfied me:

1. Head-Up Nav HUD Navigation – simple, uncluttered data, so smooth to integrate Google Map for Navi Arrow. (@Rs.75/- for paid version)

2. Simple HUD (Matjaž Lenič) – I loved the simple, beautiful / powerful reflection of Speed / Distance & Time, (but no NAVI -Free APP)

3. Torque Pro HUD (OBD 2 & Car)(Plus Two Themes) – undisputable APP for OBD II Real-time reflection, but without navigation. Works on BT @ ELM327 Bluetooth Gadget.

Since NAVI guidance is my priority, I purchased, downloaded - Head-Up Nav HUD Navigation from Play Store. It’s awesome, the only HUD APP out there that integrates so nicely with Google maps @ voice, clean and accurate.

SELECTED THE PHONE
The color of the phone, display and reflection are important for a pleasant experience. Check your Android software version for APP compatibility.
A Black color phone is the best choice and others will leave unnecessary shades/reflections.
The majority of phones use back-lighting panels. TFT and IPS panels don't have perfect black & it may at night reflect a grey reflection of the light when driving at night. This means it will be better in an AMOLED screen.

LOCATED THE IDEAL DASH PLACE

Placement should be such a way that it is tilted towards windshield so that we, driver won’t be seeing the original phone display. Otherwise, two reflections will irritate us. Fortunately ANHC (3RD GEN) has a horizontal shallow depth on the dash board, easy to keep as we like. For other dashboards if flat, may require a slanting holder so that the phone goes inside and reflects on the windshield.
Without reflective screen / film, we may find ghost image reflection as windshield is made out laminated glass. (Windshields have three layers- A glass inside and another glass in the outside, both of these glass sandwich a strong vinyl called Polyvinyl butyral to avoid shattering).
If we want a better reflection, mark outside of the glass area where the reflection falls with a neatly cut 6x8 inch paper and then paste the reflective film inside, correctly/firmly without bubbles by using credit card & then remove the marker paper outside.
I preferred placing the phone on windshield in the left side of the steering wheel and not straightly in front of my face.
HUD on windshield glass is excellent for early morning, evening & dark situations only.
During the full daylight, stand reflection is better for viewing; I am yet to get it from AE and shall share my experience. (I am also afraid whether it will create three reflections – Phone, Stand and again on Windshield.)
CAR HUD 4.jpg
IMPROVED THE GPS RECEPTION

Learned the GPS antenna location in my SAM GALAXY NOTE2 and methods to improve GPS reception. Added an APP (GPS Test) and a strip of aluminum foil as understood online. (We can do only when we know the location of phone GPS antenna receiver inside and by this way, should nowhere connect two electrical points on the phone)

CAR HUD 3.jpg
HAPPY & ENJOYING.

Yes, you will love it.
Just try, download the free version, and keep the phone as suggested in front of windshield @ no cost. If you really like, proceed to improve further.
We may link the Google Map Navigation Voice with our Bluetooth receiver / HU for better sound if needed.

Always concentrate on the road and just have a glance when comfortable.

CAUTION: Prepare everything leisurely (Like Map Destination) before driving and never ever fiddle the phone / APP while driving.
I repeat,

Hello Dr.!

Upgrading to 195 section tyres will reduce the fuel efficiency so I thought of upgrading to 185/65, Please suggest can I go ahead and change to 185/65?

Regards,
Piyush
It would definitely reduce fuel efficiency. Especially if you go for the soft compound Primacy 3ST. Softer compound and larger contact patch.

I used to get about 19.5 Kmpl on my Mumbai Pune trip on the hard compound Goodyear GT3's
After upgrading I now get 16.5 Kmpl.
(Mine is Auto Transmission and figures are via an always connected and calibrated OBD2 unit)

Just got back from a 1000 kms round trip yesterday. Overall fuel efficiency 15.1 Kmpl
(full Highway driving but Mainly because there was only a single lane, so overtaking took a hit on the Fuel efficiency.)

So you need to decide whether you want comfort from your car or high fuel efficiency figures. Also please note that the Primacy 3ST will not last as much as other hard compound tyres.

If you are looking at fuel efficiency and long lasting tyres than Bridgestone will probably suit you better.

PS : I use a lot of hypermilling so not all City automatics may be able to return those fuel efficiency numbers.

@HaruH.... not more powerful but somehow the illumination (as I said earlier also) is "no lesser" than 130w. May be the 130w were fitted for a long time when accident happened hence transition for me was from 130w in older/faded/browned reflector to XV+130% in new reflector. This might be giving me impression that both have almost same illumination. However, I still suggest to go for Phillips+130% with original wiring if you dont travel excessively in night. Remember, my reflector went noticeably brownish in just 2 years with 130w bulbs and reflectors (complete housing with labor) cost more than Rs. 12 k for a pair!
Hello,
After lot of thinking and QNA with you guys got Philips X-tream Vision +130% from ebay.in, Chose those bulbs as I don't want to ruined my reflectors.

Installed on car and checked..

High Beam Stock VS. Philips Xtream VIsion

As expected not much visible improvement on short distance, seems that throw is more larger as compare to stock. I'll see how effective & useful it is on Highway drive.. Initial statement, not much impressive with the result but will adjust with it for some more time until I made up my mind for projector set-up.. [evil]

HUD
As suggested by our dear Dr Mudhan I have installed Head up nav application on moto g gen 2. Placement also I've done the way Dr had suggested. The application runs flawlessly. It is a visual treat for both the driver and the passengers in the car. I have always wanted to have a digital speedo in my car and now i have achieved that. I had given up hopes after seeing that standalone HUD costs a lot, but thanks to Dr I could experience it. It is amazing how Dr not only suggests stuff but also makes things so much more easier by giving ideas for executing the plan. I am attaching a picture from my phone hope it is uploaded along with this post.

@blackpearlvkd

Thanks.

All colors are prone for oxidation and revealed more in white. Periodical maintenance as discussed in this thread http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...83-exhaustive-guide-car-detailing-basics.html will help you to keep the white shade in a best possible way. The yellow tint visible in the end of body lower line can be removed by fine rubbing compound if need be.

Modern white paints are better, have clear coat. I personally prefer Pearl White over Taffeta white, as Pearl white is glossy, metallic satisfy white loving people more after detailing. Unfortunately 3rd GEN ANHC was produced in INDIA only with Taffeta white. You have now the choice in 4th GEN ANHC.

I reproduce a best pearl white Indian ANHC which I could notice online (Courtesy: Mysticeyes, Trivandrum), you may like it.

Hi buddy, you need not worry about the white color of the 4th generation Honda City, but be aware of the bad paint quality. I would suggest you to go for 4th generation Honda City if and only if you are aware of the issues associated with it. Bad paint quality, inconsistent panel gaps, tinny build which is prone to dents (a lot of dents), dashboard and other rattles etc. I own a June 2014 manufactured Honda City (black), and I bought it because 'I always loved the Honda City'. Now I am moving on with the issues, and enjoying the 'fun factor' that I get from the i-vtec engine and the gearbox. I rev it hard when ever it is safe to (even revved until fuel cut off) and I have learned rev matching and other stuffs with this car. I have covered more than 37,000 kms in 2 years and 3 months, and I have taken very good care of my car in all possible ways I can. The tyres were upsized to 195/60/R15 with 6.5J alloys. Presenting my rare Honda City. Why RARE!!!!???? Black color is discontinued and hence it is a rare color on road.

Please share your preference, i-vtec or i-dtec.
Note : Have a thorough test drive (a long one if possible) and buy if it connects with you.
