Hello @Cracing,
I've asked my question in the thread you referred . Expecting Tornado's response. But meanwhile, I read your conversations with TSIVpul and Mudhan sir regarding tyre upsizing but even after couple of pages I was not able to find what you and Dr settled on. Did you upgrade to 195/65 3ST or ER300 with 5.5j rims? Or did you go with other options?

Can you tell me your feedback on your chosen tyres? Thanks in advance.
Yes we had discussed about tyre upsizes (posts in 54pg) but due to some reason I had to postpone the purchase. Later after one and half years the OE tyres (XM1) had unacceptable sidewall cracks so I had to buy new tyres (posts in 99/100pg). Since I'm a big fan of Michelin tyres, I didn't look for any other brands, though I was in a state of tyre size dilemma but later finalized 195/60 R15 size.

Michelin Primacy 3ST tyres are running great so far. Excellent grip (dry, wet and cornering), handling and comfort. I have driven over best and worst roads but had no issues. Steering is little heavy compared to OE tyre size or I would say before it was light and now its perfect but it is expected when we go for wide tyres. Due to soft compound, tyre noise is low but if any, depends on the condition of road. When driven over gravel roads, stones get trapped in tyre thread grooves and later over good roads, they will produce annoying noise. So I keep darning needle in my car and clean the tyre threads regularly.

If these tyres are well maintained, they won't not let you down. I say this because these are luxury tyres and not made for rough usage, off-roading or take abuse. Regularly you have to apply UV protectant, remove trapped stones, keep tyres well inflated, WB/WA done, respect the load capacity, maintain driving speed and etc. More info about tyre care tips from Michelin.

BTW; This is how I categorize different tyres based on my research and undestanding. Following tyres are available in 195/60 R15 size.

Economy touring tyres:
Bridgestone Turanza ER60/AR20
Michelin Energy XM2 (Very soft sidewall)
Yokohama A drive
Yokohama Earth 1

Premium Comfort Tyres:
Continental ContiMaxContact MC5
Michelin Primacy 3ST
Yokohama AVS db V550 (Very soft sidewall)

Performance Tyres:
Bridgestone Potenza GIII
Yokohama S drive

@Dr MUDHAN

Sir, Sorry for hijacking your thread with long posts, but I couldn't stop myself from helping other members. [:)]

Selecting tyres is not a easy task and lot of research needs to be done before buying. Some of our follow members have taken months to decide. So I suggest you to read this thread and also ask your query there. Tornado has good knowledge about tyres and he will definitely help you. [:)]

I'm not sure but have read that spacers are fine if driving around city but not recommended for highway trips and high speed driving. May be there is a risk. So research about it in different forums.
Currently I have Michelin 195/60 XM2 tires with space adjuster installed on my honda city. I have clocked ~35K KMs on this setup. It includes ~40% highway driving with speed up to 120 KMPH. I have not faced any issue however I am not technically strong to comment on body roll or like that parameters. But after installing space adjuster vertical movement of the suspension reduced drastically and ride became comfortable with 5 people on board.

Thank you cracing and Mudhan sir.. My tyres had some damage and thought to change it soon. I wasn't able to bear the noise. The tyre shop owner recommend the Mc5 and I went with it. I went with 195/60 as he said 195/65 is becoming too hard. I did enquire other shops, they are ok with 3St and also 195/65. But something made me to trust this continental dealer, due to not much of his persuasiveness and also in the genuinity I found in him.

So I changed 4 wheels to 195/60 conti Mc5 at 5.2 ₹ each. Alignment free, balancing 600 and tyre buy back of 200₹ each for two tyres and two others deemed unworthy.

He said drive around, and if you still need spacers he will help me add it at 5.5K for 4 wheels. I'm starting with my initial ownership review and probably don't hijack Mudhan sir thread. Just thought to update on this as cracing and Mudhan sir and others are helping me.

Hi All,
Anyone here who has parking led lights but the headlamp still in halogen? Can you post a pic with both of them on. I'm wondering if it'll look good that way, otherwise I don't bother to change parking lights to LED

Yes, LED parking lights and O.E halogen won't match well. Previously I had Philips Diamond Vision and LEDs for parking lights. Used to look awesome but throw of Diamond vision is bad. Now I'm using Philips Crystal Vision and it comes with matching (blue coated) halogen T10 bulbs for parking lights. Throw of Crystal Vision is good or similar to O.E bulbs.

Since you are going for or using Xtreme Vision, its better to stick with O.E T10 bulbs.

BTW; if you want to switch indicator lights to LED, kindly note the indicator starts to blink faster then before (aka Hyper Flashing). May be the ECU thinks indicator lights are blown hence it alerts driver. Canbus LEDs may not have such problem but I'm using normal LEDs for long time and got used to fast blinking indicators. I had replaced my parking light with LED and halogen in headlamps. I didn't like the combination so I replaced the parking light with the original. I believe "like" is relative term and it varies person to person.

I have it only on rear two wheels. My primary reason to fit the coil spring adjuster is the bumpy ride when 5 people on board. That's why I have just put it only on rear suspensions. I read somewhere in the forum that people have installed it on all 4 wheels (mostly on civic) and they didn't face any issue. This is completely reversible solution so if you face any issue you can simply remove it.[:)]

I would like to put my views on spacers after using them for more than three years and 45k km. I placed spacers alongwith new set of tyres in my 2009 City (in all four springs) three and half years ago (odo was at 56k km). OEM were Michelin XM1 and they were replaced by Bridgestone Potenza of same size. Positives of spacers: 1. Ground clearance increased and 80% reduction in under body hit 2. no more vertical movement of rear end while going through uneven roads at high speeds 3. did not notice any change in dynamics of car at high speeds. Negatives of spacers: 1. tyres are worn out and need replacement in 45k km (may be Michelin has longer life) 2. even after regular balancing and alignment at ASS, all four tyres are unevenly worn - more outside than inside 3. effect on springs is unknown 4. At low speeds, every bump is felt 5. fuel economy dropped by 1 - 1.5 km/lt since the spacers were fit. Not sure if it is due to spacers or Bridgstone or due to age. Hope this will help. Wishes

Hello Dr,

The clutch of my CITY 2009 SMT with ODO reading 54K km had become hard and HASS suggested the replacement of Clutch kit , Please advice whether to get the clutch kit replacement from HASS or any mechanic from outside as the difference in cost will be 4-5K.
Also, suggest which brand to prefer if I am getting it done from outside?

Regards,
Piyush

Since, I don’t have personal experience so for I tried to get you the best information. There is Exedy Genuine Part Replacement Clutch Plate for Honda City is available as aftermarket.
Buy Exedy Genuine Part Replacement Clutch Plate for Honda City, Amaze and Mobilio - GenuineParts.in
I would suggest to go with Honda Dealer for safety and peace of mind.

I suggest reading these information:

Hello all, I see that the cloth on door arm rest has become very dirty. Any ideas on how to replace / clean the same. Cheers, Nitesh
I have used Amway L.O.C and it cleans the cloth easily and safely. WaveX upholstery and carpet cleaner or any such cleaning products also work.

Apply the solution to microfiber cloth and rub it over the door arm cloth. Don't use brush as it may damage the cloth. After cleaning, the cloth will be wet so let it dry in shade.

If still it doesn't come clean, you have to get new cloth installed from car seat cover shops. I think same material is hard to find so you have to pick Artificial/PU leather which easily to clean and looks elegant. [:)]

How are the MC5 performing on your car? Please share the details on road noise, handling, breaking performance.
