@SandeepJohn,

I had an issue of a 'tuck tuck' sound coming from the rear of the car even on smooth roads. Not regular, but keeps coming and was irritating. First time the service people could not rectify it. The second try, they found the problem under the back seat, some rivet/or something was loose and they rectified it. Now no problem. What kind of sound do you get?

I got a poor FE this time, tank to tank, 13.97. Must be due to all the speed test done for the wheel balancing and the use of AC in city.

Will be visiting Chennai for Easter. I will see how the car behaves on high speed and decide if I need to do wheel balancing. If needed, I will go to Lal bros and get the bill refunded by Tata Motors.

@HR: I had this problem before 4 months . but did not update this in this thread. now that i remember I give it below. During October 2011, I noticed some sound from the rear particularly the boot. While driving in bumpy roads I noticed this. So I thought may be jack and other things in boot make noise. I removed it and drove still noticed the sound. The sound is similar to the sound when the left or right indicator is used. But is discontinuous. So I pulled over and switch off engine. Open boot and saw. When I shake the boot door, that "tik tik tik" sound is coming near the wiring to the boot lamp.
I had given my car for first service after 1 month of purchase. Problems reported were:

Tuk Tuk tuk noise in boot door
- This was not solved in 1st service . Then next week I showed the door noise problem.

They told they changed something in the boot door. The noise was not coming for 1 month or so. but occasionally it comes. But not too frequently like before.

My problem was not on the boot door. And it used to come even on good roads. I am glad they were able to finally solve the issue.

I think you get your car serviced in KHT Whitefield. They are supposed to be good. Why don't you drive in again and inform them about the sound. Talk to their workshop manager and tell him. I am sure it will be only a minor problem. Just need to identify the source.

@HR: Thanks for advice. Now I donot get the noise. Only rarely I get this. Probably some loose screw or loose pad in the boot door. I got this noise problem fixed in Chennai Ambattur Concorde. Recently for the suspension noise problem I serviced in KHT whitefield.

Of late, I have been seeing a lot of Swift deszire with yellow boards in Bangalore. Saw on Etios yellow board also today.

The only Manza I have seen in this segment had a black board and belonged to Royal Orchid hotel with the hotel logo on the sides. I have only seen a picture of a yellow board Manza posted in another forum.

Hope Manza dosen't go the Dezire way.

Seen one white Manza with an yellow board in Cochin Airport. It was about 9-10 months ago.

See Manzas with red beacons now a days. It has become the favourite of District Collectors, Senior Govt Officers and Police Officers. May be due to the space and comfort factor.

In Delhi NCR I have seen plenty of manza, merc, inovva as taxi so what?
Toyota innova runs across India as taxi that in no way lowers its value, in fact it increases road dependability & worth in customers mind. Now I am seeing SUV X-500 too running as long route taxi, just saw 1 last week on the way to rishikesh.

In bangalore I spotted 2 Manza Taxis of VIVANTA TAJ in ITPL campus, one in silver and one in black.

Hope Manza dosen't go the Dezire way.
Even if it goes that way that doesn't reduce Manza's value. Dzire also went the Taxi way only after 5 long years of being private owners only. In Manza's case also thats inevitable given the FE engine and Spacious rear and boot. May be Manza will go the Taxi way later like Dzire did.

Exactly my point also.

But I donot how Taxi owners chose XUV-500 given its 3 rd row could accomodate only 2 persons and absolutely no boot with 3rd row occupied.

As far as I know, that black and yellow body paint disappeared long time ago. And there are no more taxis in Chennai or Bangalore. They are now called call taxies and they can be of any color.

only Autos still follow the required paint colors and that too varies from state to state.

I was about to reply in similar lines after seeing Xover's post and then backed out thinking not to discuss more OT.

Now, what I have observed is that Manza is in damand amoung executives in MNCs and other big companies. These executives are provided with leased cars by the company.

Reputed companies insist for yellow board registration for these leased cars. So many operators buy Manza (other makes also), register with yellow board and then lease it to companies.

These leased cars are for long term use (minimum one year in most of the cases) and used by company executives as their personal cars.
