Hi Saroya!
Finally I have read all the 18 pages of this wonderful thread by you. You have been very passionate about your Alto and its modifications, and I appreciate that! Good work.

I have a Maruti Ritz which comes with stock 2DIN head unit. I am having the stock speakers as of now. I want to install a subwoofer and an amplifier on the car. I see, you have installed subwoofer and amplifier also, and would like to know the cost of each, the performance and a video, if possible (the '12 Saal' track has good bass).

I am getting a 12" bass tube from Blaupunkt with 2 year warranty for Rs. 3400 and a 2 Channel Blaupunkt amplifier with 2 year warranty for Rs. 3000 from Snapdeal.com. They are running a free installation programme also, according to which they will fit the product at my doorstep.

Now my questions are:
1> Will the subwoofer and the amplifier specs match and would run fine with each other?
2> Did you get any warranty on your subwoofer and amplifier?
3> How much inches is your Panasonic subwoofer?
4> If you have any discount coupons (unused and spare, of course) or know of any better deals, do PM me or post here.
5> Will the subwoofer and amplifier fit on existing head unit of Ritz Zxi?

Waiting for a reply.
Cheers!

Thank you very much for your appreciation and for reading my thread.
Yes i have installed sub with amp in my car with Pioneer DEH 2950mp HU and pioneer 4 inch 2way coaxial in front dashboard and pioneer 3way 6x9 coaxial in rear parcel tray. Actually the sub i am using is part of my Panasonic Hi-Fi system i purchased from Dubai. system performs very well without sub and my mom don't allow me to play music with heavy bass at home. So when i was planning for sub in my car suddenly got idea to try this sub. When i purchased amp and tried this sub it gave a big smile on my face . Sub is 10 inches bass reflex 250w RMS power 2750w PMPO. Amp is Sound Barrier V14 2channel 3200w PMPO performing very well.
I have no idea about stock HU of Ritz . You need Pre out audio port on back of your HU to attach amp with it. Sound quality will not be as good as aftermarket HU( pioneer, JVC,Kenwood etc.) can deliver.
Before going for Basstube you should take demo to know the type of sound it deliver if you don't know already . Basstube will deliver boom boom type sound you will miss tight bass. Make sure that amp power in RMS should be higher than sub.

Thanks Saroya for your reply.
I had asked some installer in my area and they said that HU supports subwoofer and amplifier. So, the HU must be having pre-outs. Is there any way to check that?
Yes I know the sound quality would be poorer than aftermarket fitments. But, I don't want to alter with the stock looks of the dashboard and I'm pretty much happy with it.
Actually, I am comfortable with both type of sounds! The punchy and tight bass delivered by subwoofer and even the boomy bass delivered by bass tube. Ok, I will make sure that amp power is higher than sub power in RMS.

Should I give a try to some Local Amp, which I am getting for Rs. 1800 (2 Channel) or should I get Blaupunkt Amp for Rs. 3000?[roll]
Also, should I settle for a Sony Subwoofer (without enclosure) for Rs. 2600 or Blaupunkt basstube for Rs.3300?

Do you have any coupon codes or knowledge of any ongoing deals in Car Audio online? (Especially Snapdeal.com)

I'll post the links soon.

EDIT: Here are the links-

Blaupunkt Basstube [http://www.snapdeal.com/product/blaupunkt-gtt-1200-sc-with/651049]
Sony Subwoofer [http://www.snapdeal.com/product/sony-xsnw12002-30cm-in-car/1488053713#bcrumbLabelId:311]
Some Local Amplifier [Sorry, not able to find the link]
Blaupunkt Amplifier [http://www.snapdeal.com/product/blaupunkt-ema-255-amplifier/651037#bcrumbLabelId:311]
Pioneer Subwoofer [http://www.snapdeal.com/product/pioneer-ts-w304r-30-cm/651232#bcrumbLabelId:311]

Will the Blaupunkt Amp match the Pioneer/Sony Subwoofer?

Thanks Saroya for your valuable comments.

For now, I will wait, and arrange for some more finance. Actually, my current budget is around Rs. 4500 excluding wiring and labour. I think I will save my pocket money for some time and save around Rs. 9000, to include damping material and good quality branded amplifiers.

I will also visit accessory shops here and will share the prices of various components of music systems, if anyone wants to know.

BTW, sorry for hijacking your thread. You can continue with other DIY mods of yours on your little monster Alto! What's planned next?

Cheers.

you can consider Sound Barrier amp if you want budget amp. I am using same from last year. Had purchased from local market for 2600 with full installation . It sold by snapdeal also some times back but currently out of stock. Damping is not necessary. You can decide later if you want or not according to the rattling noises. If your door speakers are playing only high frequency sounds then your doors will not make rattling noises.

I also saw Sound Barrier Amp on Snapdeal but it is out of stock currently. I will visit an installer today (at around 1-2 PM) and will let you know the various options available.

Damping is not only for vibrations/rattles, it makes the outside noise stay outside to a great extent. My door speakers are currently set to Bass (+6 Max.) and make the door panel vibrate a lot. I will be touching 10k km mark in a month or two and will install a JBL setup then, as a gift to the car! I have heard that JBL Basstubes are best among budget basstubes and most installers have good verdict on them. For amp, I might consider Sound Barrier if the difference is considerable among it and JBL. I will avoid Sony.

Lakhvir paaji, now you'll make me read another 9 page thread of yours! Good to go, your threads are extremely informative and addicting![glasses]

JBL is much better than your earlier option (blaupunkt basstube). JBL 1150w and 1200w subs are very much popular here at my place.
Outside noises? I am sure your will not be able to hear even your co-passenger while playing music with sub [lol]. With sub attached you can set your speakers to play music without or less bass.
My HU set to 0 bass and speakers didn't play any bass , sub handling the bass department [:D]

Here in NCR, Alignment and Balancing cost is ~550 to 600 Rupees for normal steel rims. It is +100 Rupees for Alloy wheels.

Earlier I used to get it done from MASS during service but they charged from ~700 to 800 Rupees, so switched to Tyre Shops.

One question: Is nitrogen filling necessary/advisable? Is it worth the extra money than normal air?

I think if you are facing frequent air loss in your tyres, then you can try filling nitrogen. With nitrogen filled tyres you will need not to visit tyre shop frequently. It keep tyres cool and lighter than those filled with normal air.
I have
I never tried nitrogen, because it is not easily available at my place and my new tyres with new alloys never loss Air. I usually check once in a month and need to fill 2-3 psi sometimes which is ok for me.
