Thanks buddy.

I am waiting to hear your ICE upgrade!
Most probably, ICE is getting installed this sunday.

front comps, rear co-axials, a 4 ch amp for the four speakers & a 2 ch amp for the sub & the likes...

What other mods planned for now?
Apart from the roof, only Roots windtone 90 horn & brighter headlamps, maybe 100/90.

Hmmm will the OEM HU be able to produce the SQ?

And instead of going for 100/90 try out Philips Extreme of 55W , i am hearing good reviews about those now. Apart from being illegal i have seen many cars where a black layer gets formed around the entire inside of the headlamp assembly due to excessive heat , it spoils the beauty of the car!

again i would say ,no to black roof.!!!
rather go for some unique body grafix or sticker preferably imported from abroad especially made for punto or abarth.

100/90 headlight may not be healthy as cooldhaya said. i heard one swift owner had melted reflectors and melted bulb holder. he noticed it only when the lights went out of focus!!

I am adding two amps for that & using a Scosche high to low converter to compensate for that.

Of course, a good HU is always better but I dont want to mess with the dashboard now do i want to sacrifice Blue&Me.

I do a lot of night driving these days & so good lighting is important for me. I will check out the philips. thanks.

As i said, I want something very subtle & not too loud or sporty. That is the reason I am going for a simple black roof.

I guess that must be 130 then. Many of my friends have 100/90 on their cars & they are using it since ages without any problems. Anyways, thanks. I will research about it's disadvantages.

Scorpio is not equal to Punto in terms of quality[rules]
huh , when it comes to freedom to go anywhere , punto leaves a lot to desire, where as scorpio would be unstoppable..!!

But my scorpio is still a performer!

raj , i think you havent pushed pintu beyond 100kmph much yet, you may forget scorpio..!!(but wait let her grow up a bit ,post 3k-4k)

ps: punto in india is bieng produced as "eco" model , less perfomance and more fuel economy.

1000 kms report:

Piling up kms on the car was really easy! In 20 days, the odo showed 1000 kms & it was time to rejoice!

As soon as it clocked 1000, I downshifted & revved her all the way to 4000 rpm, did not get the space to rev her more than that, planning to do that this sunday!

1000 kms impressions:

1) The car is NOT short on power. It pulls strongly after 1700 rpm. It's just that the instant "push in the back" feel is absent. Instead you get a linear & smooth pull which masks the speed well. Yes, the turbo lag is present.

2) Fit & finish is not as bad as projected.

3) After upgrading the music system, the Blue&Me calls are ear deafening loud, need a solution to that.

4) The car is a stunner, every morning I look at it & appreciate it's beauty.

5) Ride & handling... blah blah blah..!

6) The grunt from the engine when you rev it is awesome!

7) It would have been nice if FIAT had incorporated an easier USB player.

8) Under thigh support in front seats could have been better.

9) The AC is a chiller, freezes the cabin in no time.

10) Everything in this car is heavy & has a solid feel to it.

that is what mannerism and etiquettes of super small car from europe compared to competent poor handelling high pick-up cars .

wishing you very best for miles ahead.
cheers

Guys the more you write of "pintu", the more I am getting inclined towards it. I also liked the linear pull which is much better than other hatches. Yes turbo lag is present till 1750 RPM. After that its a different machine.

One best part i liked is safe feeling that I got in Punto at speeds @ 140. Its just amazing and I was always in control.
