Well I am kind of late but anyways CONGRATS for the car.
The car looks mean and I thinks you should christen it with some other dashing name and keep Pintu as its nick name.
What say?
One question what is the stock HU in Punto sorry Pintu  ?

Black roof is coming soon...!

if it was me i wont ever blacken her top .
the bossa nova white is just impressive and awesome , she is neither too white nor too ivory rather just perfect shade to make everybody feel... WOW!!.
the black roof gives a panoramic roof effect!

Bearing in mind the traffic conditions mentioned by you and the age of your Pintu, the FE figure is pretty good. I am certain they will shoot up by 2-3kmpl after the first service[thumbsup].

Great looking car man. Keep it up but give it a thought whether you need a black top or not. Many people are trying something different and roof comes in first two conditions. Think something else, because you want your Pintu to look different after all.

Nice FE figures with 100% AC

Are you really sure you want a black roof? Woudnt that absorb more heat?
As i said, there are many black cars around. my car will only be having a black roof!

It takes me around 1.5 hrs to cover 20 kms, thats the traffic pintu has to negotiate.

I want something different yet very subtle. I think black roof is subtle & unique.

raj, hope you have gone through the pintus's manual. there are certain known but relevant recomendation/advices from fiat.

like:
do not keep your hands on the gear lever while driving .even with slightest effort, is not good .

Why is that so jaydev? I usually drive single handed with one hand on gear knob. Any particular reason for fiat recommending this practise?

Better get the vinyl work for your roof, if you like it, get it painted else get the stickers off.
If you remove Vinyl, it is very difficult to get the gum residue off.

I went through the manual, as you said, there are a lot of tips.

but my scorpio has an armrest to support my left arm, the punto does not. So i keep my hand on the gear lever (being careful that I am not pushing it) & sometimes on my lap.

The gum residue can be taken off , no problem in removing them.
also no harm to paint , provided you stick on vinyl for cars. LOTS of brand are there i suppose , paint need to breath. so using recommended vinyl is best and no harm even for years

As Ilango mentioned in the post above, removing the gum is an easy task and doesnt harm the paint at all. I just suggested the vinyls since the process is reversible. However, if you are sure that you want a blackened roof, painting is he best option.
