pintu 1000km wow.

congratulations ,a million times.

that is what mannerism and etiquettes of super small car from europe compared to competent poor handelling high pick-up cars .

wishing you very best for miles ahead.
cheers
Thanks buddy.

Do you face a slight steering wobble at speeds of 90-100 kmph in your punto? I face that issue & I thought that was because of my alloys but it seems that it is inherent with Puntos.

Guys the more you write of "pintu", the more I am getting inclined towards it. I also liked the linear pull which is much better than other hatches. Yes turbo lag is present till 1750 RPM. After that its a different machine.

One best part i liked is safe feeling that I got in Punto at speeds @ 140. Its just amazing and I was always in control.
I agree. The punto is extremely stable at high speeds.

no wobble or any kind of problems yet for me. rather steering feels bit stiffer above 80kmph.
there was a side drag when it clocked +4000 . i thought it was same dreaded problem inherent in some older punto. but after wheel alignment and balancing steering returned back to normal (the alignment guys mentioned it was fully out on -VE side or something like that).

steering remains sharp consistent and precise at all speed that is the best thing i have come across this car. so one never know how much speed has been gained. just out of my experience.

ps: raj can you be more specific what kind of wobble..scary to note it.[confused] could it be a part of torque steer or such thing as post 90-100kmph punto become a terrific powerhouse as one can feel the push when accel is pressed .

Raj try swapping those tyres in the rear with that in the front along with wheel alignment.
And see the change.

Even my Hawk was having wobbling above 120 kmph now there is no such problem.

After swapping the tyre's.

Congrats Raj. I wish you many more happy miles with your "Pintu".

As for the wobbling issue, get the thing resolved. I never came across any such thing while testing the Punto90HP.

Congrats Raj , looks like you are also a mine muncher! I think you have also fallen in love with Fiat like other Fiat owners here. Maybe after a few 1000Kms of driving , the engine will open up and even i will begin to like its performance! And wobbling , even i feel it will be due to improper balancing.

Punto's ORVMs stick out like two elephant ears.

Two days back, an esteem knocked the right ORVM, inspite of my desperate honking, that guy dint care a damn. Luckily the ORVM folded backwards & nothing happened.

Yesterday, an indicab did the same. This time I was not so lucky though. It left two black marks. Today morning, scrubbed the ORVM with concentrated car shampoo & the scar was gone...

Phew! All this in just 1200 kms & within a month of ownership! Looks like I have to tone down my Scorpio style driving habits!

god only can help in mumbai traffic.
there are many kind of people and the unique ones i have noticed in mumbai could be known as "m/s.envious". if they are near your car then you are definilty a loser!!

mumbai rocks.

i think one can start a spare part shop , by collecting debris from mumbai city roads. bulbs, axles ,brake linings, wheel caps, floormats, brand logos, rubber beadings and et al.

one of the incident happened in front of me was.
the land rovers drivers door was being scraped by rikswaw in an airtight traffic in marol.
both of the drivers where spitting sanskrit and vedas to each other . poor landrover driver couldnt come out and grab the rikshaw driver as rikshaw was blocking his door,
when signal switched green, the rikshaw shooted like a missile into nowhere...
poor landrover guy was just left praying against rikshaw driver's soul.

Ah, I am still happy that I am in mumbai. Traffic sense in other cities is worse!

I need to understand I am not driving an SUV anymore & nobody is scared of me on the roads now!!!

Got an average of 14 kmpl in second tankful.

Please note - This is before the first service, in peak bumper to bumper traffic, with 100% AC & also some redlining!

Some IDIOT scraped my car in the parking today, it has left an ugly black scar on the front bumper... My car is just 1500 kms old... :-(

Meanwhile, got hub centric rings fitted on the alloys & the steering wobble issue has been sorted.
