Hey, don't worry about it, when I took my delivery few days ago the dealer called me prior to delivery informing that car have got scratch on rear bumper and he will do the paint job for it and then I can take delivery. I went there and tried to find the scratch on the rear bumper and was not able to. Then he finally showed me where the scratch was and after that I was able to recognise that it was evident that the car rear bumper was scratched. But for the people who do not know that the bumper was scratched, will never be able to find one on my car. Yes I was bit sad on that [cry], but then when I started driving my Punto, I forgot everything and was enjoying the Italian Beauty. Dealer have promised me for paint job again during first service.
Hey Dharmesh thanks for sharing this. Congrates for ur Punto [thumbsup] . Write your ownership experience and share here.

Those who live in Maharashtra, I request them to PLEASE take your puntos atleast once on the Mumbai-Pune Express Highway.

MAN! This car is a blast to drive on the highways. On the ghats, I could comfortably take turns at 80 kmph & this car handled as if it was on rails. I dint push my luck further. The Punto is so well balanced dynamically that it is a joy to drive on open roads.

I was trying the push hard, brake late into corner, downshift & accelerate method & boy the way the Punto accelerates from 3rd or 4th gear cannot be explained in words. The steering feedback is so good that its like point & shoot.

I dint notice a speedbreaker when you are entering the express highway from Lonavala. I was at 80 kmph & it was too late to brake. I let go & without exaggeration, all I heard was a thump. nothing felt inside the cabin at all.

The Punto is an excellent machine, a well engineered marvel. Kudos FIAT!

I also tried to push the car to its limits. First came 140 kmph -

140.jpg

Then 160 kmph -

160.jpg

By the time it reached 170 kmph (this was with AC & 5 people in the car), I let go as the highway was not exactly empty -

170.jpg

The car was going at a constant 130-140 kmph & it felt rock stable. Even at 170 kmph, i just had two fingers at the bottom of the steering wheel!

There was a certain straight & empty stretch just before the toll booth while coming from Mumbai.
Well, I thing you might know this, at this place police use to hide behind flyover pole and they check the speed using speed gun , then they inform info to police at next toll plaza , and used to charge fine ?? [;)] over-speeding cars.

170 [surprise] with AC and 5 people on board. Tha's really great show of power and stability from our very beloved Punto.
Without AC & with 2 people, I think this will go atleast till 185 kmph?

You know what, this is the first & last time I tried this.

However good the road is, driving at 170 on Indian roads is absolutely foolish. I just wanted to test the car's high speed manners once & that is the reason I did this & hence I was willing to take a chance.

170+ is something suicidal on Indian roads not sure about other countries.

Just a point in reference to your post, no one die first to check how it feels when someone will die. They just die.

Note: TAI strongly condemn high speed driving in the interest of own and others safety. Please stick to speed limit guidelines and obey them.

The fun part is not how fast it goes but how quick it achieves those speed.

I cant understand what was in mind of fiat makers. why so much of power post 3000rpm,that too for us Indians.

One can dance along, with feet on accelerator and hands on the wheel (in power band).

raj how has ur after sales/service experience generally with fiat/tata ?
So far so good. I have not had any major issues with the car, so I cant comment how good they are when it comes to solving issues.

I have been to the A.S.S. only 3 times -

1) First service - I was satisfied.
2) Front bumper painting - they over sprayed on my windshield & side glass, rectified by them later.
3) Rear bumper adjust - Good job.

I will get to know how good they are in the upcoming second service. I have some rattles in my car which I expect them to fix.

Hey Raj,

For Front bumper painting how much they Charged? Is it full painting or partial...
Full Bumper painting - Rs. 3241/-

Which A.S.S. do you go to? And do you know about any good A.S.S. near Kandivali/Borivali area?
I always go to Fortune Motors, Powai (Saki Vihar road). I have read that, comparatively, they are better. Avoid Wasan Motors - Chembur/Deonar, unless you know someone there. they are thugs.
