Nitin,

I am just trying to put a short picture of the rear wheel area which I am talking about. If required, if will post a snap of the area later.

Thanks
yes, gravel and all especially during rainy season makes a lot of noise by touching the body courtesy the typres. We will have to search an after market accessory to cover that thing.

Hi Rikku,
Gr8 to hear you enjoying the Brio. Which model did you take .Please post some details on the pricing and all. Let me also share my experience with Brio.
1. Gear: Had to consult nitin and akidd on this. Its not only hard but at times so notchy that it does not go into the groove. Specially with the shift b/w 2nd and 3rd gear. Backgear is also notchy. At times you end up accelerating the car while gear does not change ending with a sound from the gear box.
Also 1 month from ownership and 500k no improvement as per now.

2. Yes the Brio does not have mud flap. Please get it fitted from outside .It costed me 200/- for 4 of them

3. Please do not miss on the service date .Get it a day earlier I say. Honda offers a pick and drop facility as well with no extra cost. But if want some touch up for some of the scratches that you managed, better go personally and get it done.

Do share your driving experience.

Best wishes and happy driving

Hi Praveen,

I opted for the Brio SMT and got it cost me Rs. 4.8 OR Delhi. the freebies/package included the following

1. Gear lock
2. RPS
3. Seat Covers
4. Foot mats
5. Zero Dep.
6. Ext. Warranty
7. side protectors
8. divinity/car freshner/cushions

Could not manage either a further reduction in price or increase in the freebies.

Regarding the drive quality, i fully agree with your views. Except for the gears, which Nitin said would get better after 5Ks, no complaints. I was doubting my driving and ability to put the gears rightly.

Reg the service, i plan it to take it to the service centre sometime in the coming week. would request you and Nitin advise any special care that need to be taken.
Thanks

Good and crisp review
B/w how were you charged for the 1st free service?
where did i mention i was charged for the 1st service ?
the 2nd service is what i went for and only labor is free, they charge for parts/consumables.

would request you and Nitin advise any special care that need to be taken.
Thanks
nothing at all, just tell your issues visa-v gears etc.

do carry the service manual/booklet along, i forgot to carry mine today and the SE was kind enough to do my service and said he will send someone to my residence later in the evening to collect the coupon.

Perhaps you have had the best deal for Brio SMT than 1 could imagine. Can you please tell us the name of the dealer/showroom.

Thanks Praveen. I bought my car from ACE Honda, Noida, probably since I bought at the year end, the offer could have been good as you say.

Got my beauty serviced yesterday. Felt that it was not basically service, it was just a formality for me as well as for them. Just routine checks. nothing more.

But I do need to look for that rear wheel cover/matting seriously. checked with the service station also, they also did not have any fix. That running gravel noise is getting on my head and not letting enjoy my ride.

The service centre advised me to go for antirust paint (>Rs.3000) to solve this problem. But I'm not very optimistic on the same and hence I declined.

Would take timeout to visit the local market/car accessory shop. Hope that even though Honda does not supply this cover, other car mfd would be having and try if some other car's fits in my H.

In the meantime, if anyone else on the forum has found a resolution to this problem, pls let us know.

Thanks

it depends from which company you are taking the insurance. some will charge you with lower premium but do keep in mind the IDV will tend to be lower.

get quotes from 2-3 companies and then decide.

i got a call from honda cutomer care, even though i purchased my car on July 30, they are offering me a 30% discount on the tariff + 20% NCB. IDV = 4 lacs. What they want from me is PDC for couple of days before the due date. my earlier insurance was from Bajaj Allianz. This quote is from Reliance.

with 0 dep, premium = Rs 11,926
without 0 dep, premium = Rs 9,903

the agent said he will throw in a free car freshener. Anyways i will take a 0 dep only but i asked for the normal insurance quote too.

Is there any catch ?
