Re: 5 Days Epic Saga - My Honda Brio SMT Rallye Red

Hi Nitin, I have two queries related to Brio. Appreciate if you could provide some details on these
1.Since Brio does not come with tinted glass and in north, summers are too hot that car AC is almost ineffective or take time to cool the car, how you tackled this issue. How effective your AC would be in summers(July are hot as June :))?
2.What is the average service cost? I believe first 2 services are totally free. Do you have any idea about the service cost and the frequency of services that Honda recommends?

1. ac does take time to cool since the glass area is huge. leaving 1 to 2% of windows open helps in releasing/circulating the hot hair when parked in sun for long. Blowers are pretty solid and air throw is pretty good and felt at the back seat.

2. i have only got my 1st free service done yet. 2nd is also free so I cannot comment on how much the rest services would cost. They say 10k km interval for the paid service which i think is decent and should not be taxing on pocket. And yes it also depends on how you go about it. They may want you to fill synthetic oil etc which are costly, but then you can always deny these expensive gimmicks.

Also recently they have started a 2 year maintenance pack for @ Rs 11200 or so which you can bargain for free while purchasing the car. Anyways H! service is not that costly compared to others like Hundai and TATA so i would not suggest buying this separately. H! cars are known to be trouble free anyways.

p.s if anyone does visit H!, do inquire what all is covered in the maintenance pack.

Thanks Nitin.

Just got the news from Honda that they have introduced "Honda Care Maintenance Package (HCMP)" for free periodic maintenance service up to 40,000km or 2 years which ever occur first. The customer can buy HCMP package at just Rs.9996/-.

Re: 5 Days Epic Saga - My Honda Brio SMT Rallye Red

we get 2 years warranty + 2 years extended warranty ( paid) and now this package , is the package really worth it. what all do they cover in it ?

apart from the new AT, they have a new EX MT , kinda base model with 1 din audio with coin box and front speakets + body colored ORVM's + handles. Seems VFM and should help them get more sales.

DELHI EX SHOWROOM
E MT : Rs. 406,000
EX MT : Rs. 426,000
S MT : Rs. 455,000
S(O) MT : Rs. 499,000
V MT : Rs. 524,000
S(O) AT : Rs. 574,000
V AT : Rs. 599,000

But I am disappointed with increase in S variant prices. Gets some useless updates - Power Adjustable ORVM's + Front & Rear mud guards. Mud guards costed me 200 bucks from a local accessory shop and paying 12k extra for ORVM's is a waste.

Re: 5 Days Epic Saga - My Honda Brio SMT Rallye Red

Had complete first service today. Had left with Sore experience from green honda guys, they have misplaced my Parcel tray, and was saying that it was there when the car is leaving service station (saying that they are confirming by looking at the videos taken from CC TV cameras).
I have only parked my vehicle at two places yesterday one at service station, and other place is at show room (as i have to get some money refunded from them), where i have given my car keys to security gaurd.
Only one option i have now is to buy a brand new one. How much a new one would cost?

really sucks when u have to spend money on something which is not your fault. new one should cost @ Rs 1400.

insist on seeing the cc tv footage yourself.
and how did the service go.

1400 /- [surprise] for the tray? from Honda? how about any after market one?

Yep, the service went well body wash, and then those oil top-up, then they also look at the grar thing we discussed earlier (bit hard while slotting into to 2nd gear).

First i asked him to share the footage through mail? as i have to travel 25 odd kms for the service station, he said company rules won't allow blah blah.
I was polite all the time.
Again I called him some time back, and ask what they can do about this? said he will speak to Manager and let me know on how he can share the footage. [frustration]

no idea about the after market ones :( brio is relatively a new car and i read somewhere H! started giving the RR tray as stock in all models. The fact is that the car's rear looks horrible without the tray and everything in the boot becomes visible from a distance.

Take it strongly with them and shoot emails to them everyday. If nothing works out, try to get it at 50% or so by saying we split the cost. penny saved is penny earned.

This is a rare case of sloppiness from the dealership and you should take this seriously. It's not about the parcel tray or the monies, but about customer satisfaction and trust.

If they have misplaced it, they have to replace it. Period. At Honda, the people concerned take such kinds of complaints very seriously and will reduce the dealership points once found guilty.

If the dealership aint responding, get the number of the Honda regional office and call/email your grievance.

Thanks for sharing this bit. Sounds good.

I believe the HCMP will be available thru all the dealerships (all cities).

On an average the car is serviced twice a year. So once you opt for HCMP, you wont have to pay anything else during the service??

Also, my car's due for its 2nd service in the 1st week of Nov. During the service, do they top-up all the oils (engine, brake, steering, etc.)?? Do we have to pay for the oil top-up or as is said, the 2nd service is totally free??
