Again, those are very good figures.[:)]
Can you please share your gear shifting speed / rpm.?
^^Same question was on Page#1, once again its repeated now

I am not sure whether the gear shift pattern that I follow is as per standard or not [thinking] but by adhering to the following gear shift pattern I manage to get above mentioned FE.

1st - 0 to 10
2nd - 10 to 15
3rd - 30
4th - 40 to 45
5th - 50 onwards

I never pull/revv the engine much with clutch pressed to get required momentum in upper gears, I prefer to shift downwards it its need be.
And I Always drive above 2K rpm up to 3rd or so then it must be above 3.5 k atleast.
Besides that I maintain average speed of 80-90 kmph on highways with some 100-110 kmph at times. [drive]

Could you please share your pattern ?

^^And the same answer this time as well.

You missed a question about the size of your tires.

Yes I remember.[;)] The reason for repeating the question why because your mileage has been improved by around 2kms with the AC ON. So I thought you must have changed your shifting pattern.[lol]

Your Previous Post about Petrol mileage
About FE, it roughly gives 14+ in city B2B Traffic with A/C
16+ in city B2B Traffic without A/C
17+ on highways with A/C
19+ on highways without A/C

and the present.
One more FE Check:

This time also same method, same fuel station.

Result : 19.13 kmpl

AC on full time with 30% city driving & 70% highway driving.

Loading: 4 Adults + 2 kids with minor luggage.

I am very much happy with the performance..

Are you sure is it ABOVE 2k? Or do you mean BELOW 2k rpm?

Tyre size is stock one 155-65-R14.

I've replaced all 4 tyres with Apollo Amazer at 33k KMs and replaced regular air with Nitrogen in Tyres. This is the only change as compared to previous conditions.

Yes .. its above 2k upto 3rd gear in my case. I don't know if its ideal to do so but this pattern works fine for me.[:D]

I have changed my stock JK 155/80/13 at 26k(Poor experiences with JK Vectra[cry]) to 175/70/13 XM2.

Really confused[confused]
How come its possible for you to ride ABOVE 2k upto 3rd gears with this shifting pattern?
"1st - 0 to 10
2nd - 10 to 15
3rd - 30"

I don't think our cars gear ratios have much difference especially the first 3 gears.
If I shift at 2k rpm the speed goes around like this.
1st - 20kmph at 2k rpm
2nd - 35kmph at 2k rpm
3rd - 50kmph at 2k rpm
(If you want then I can make a tacho vs speedometer video.)

So if I keep the rpm above 2k in 1st gear then the speedo needle goes to 25kmph or even more, then how riding above 2k in 3rd gear keeps your at 30kmph, I think it should be more than 50kmph.
Next time when you get some time kindly recheck the rpm vs speed of your car.

Anyways yours is an awesome mileage. My recent mileage with approx 80% city + 20% highways + approx Half an hour of Idle yields 14+kmpl with the AC on full time. Wider shoes are may be the reason for this higher fuel consumption.

Tallboy's first highway drifting this monsoon.

With pulled up socks to welcome this monsoon, intermittent heavy rain in this 400+ kms drive, tallboy performed very well with good grip on wet highway and ghats with new Apollo Amazer shoes. [clap]

Special Browny points from me to rear wiper of VXI model without which I can't even imagine to drive on highway in rainy reason.

Here are some snaps.

And also, any particular reason on going for Apollo?

Thanks Buddy. [:)]
Yeah. I agree that this device gives you freedom to enjoy entertainment in car by all means.
For Apollo amazer tyre selection, it was due to good feedback from a friend, and I am very much happy with the performance as compare to stock Goodyear tyres.

Thanks a lot Vira [:)]

The cost is 6.5K including installation charges.

Update: 2nd AMC free service of the year.

Kms: 38+K

Just to give a brief idea to those who haven't gone through this my full ownership review thread, I've an AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) for one year with MASS.

So as per AMC schedule (3 Free services in a year), today I had visited MASS for 2nd free service.

I was asked about problems I am facing, I had nothing in my pocket to complain about.

So, test driven by technician to find out any abnormal sound regarding suspension and for that matter any abnormal cabin sound. Result was NIL for any abnormal sound. [thumbsup]

Nothing much was there to do, so just fine tuning(clutch setting), washing and dashboard & tires polishing done.

Also replaced rear wiper blade with new one and some mud flap clips.

Although, I was insisted to change cabin filter/AC filter for which I was not convinced at all. I agreed as a good will for SA. [angel]

To Conclude, Tall boy is rising day by day, by his performance and stance in the locality by creating fans. [cheers]

Did they show you the old filter? with ~6 months a lot of dust can accumulate on the filter. If your filter was clean. then there is no need to change it. BTW how much did the filter cost?

Nope.

Initially they didn't showed me the old filter. But when I asked for old filter and old rear wiper blade, they somehow managed to show me both. I doubt if they were really mine. [confused]

Its been more than 6 months since filter change. There was dust accumulated on the filter, but I guess it would have gone, if cleaned properly. Is it possible to clean old filter and use it again?

Here is the break-up of cost of this service.

Parts:
1. Mud Flap Clips - 6 Nos - 16.02 INR
2. Blade Rear wiper - 1 No - 244.44 INR
3. Distilled water - 17.78 INR
4. Cabin Air Filter - 1 No - 311.11 INR

Labour:
1. AMC Service - 0.00 INR
2. Wheel Alighnment - 0.00 INR

Sub-Total - 589.35 INR
5% Discount on Parts (AMC) - 29.47
Vat @ 12.5% - 69.98

Final Total - 629.86 INR.

That seems a reasonable rate.
I think we can pressure blow (air only) the dust from filter, but @300Rs they won't promote it.
The only trouble is that we are unnecessarily adding to the huge amount of waste material.
Here they return everything (including screw, nut, bolt, filters, rubber spacers metal clamp etc), only trouble is that we have a find way to discard them properly.
