We just went for a TD of Polo Petrol this weekend. As I had mentioned in my other posts in other threads, my bro is on a look out. But finally taking a TD of this car, he is so awe-struck by the build quality of this one that he is 90% sure now that is he is going to buy it. Thanks ashikawa, as your thread helped me in pushing my bro!

Also, just a small update. Polo TDI prices have increased for all models and Petrol has the same finance option like Vento, i.e. 6.99% flat.

In Delhi - Polo TL - OTR - 5.08 lacs (excluding AMC and optional kit, but including everything else)

EDIT: ashikawa, can you let me know mileages you have been getting for petrol?
My mileage report which is already posted in this thread during initial run in period of 1500 kms reproduced here:

Mileage Report of my polo tested by tankful method for 390 kms. with driving condition druing my trip from mumbai to mahabaleshwar.

33 kms Ghat section going down 5th gear 50-70 kmph
54 kms Extreme Ghat section 1,2,3rd gear 20-30 kmph
64 kms City driving in mumbai with medium trafic and B2B trafic and inside mahabaleshwar city at 30-40kmph speed.
Mileage is supposed to improve further will keep updated.

You have rightly advised your brother. He will never regret buying one.
In addition there were some offers on petrol polo. check this for info. If you need any assistance from me feel free to discuss.

Thanks! I will ask him to look out for these as well. As per the dealer there is an option to take free Extended Warranty + AMC or the finance. Bro is still calculating which one to go for. If he can push in some more benefits like accessories free, nothing like it.

They will even not give a keychain in addition to what is the offer. Though you brother can ask for corporate discount of 8k if it is not discontinued and your brother's company falls under beneficiary list.
Another go for a insurance from outside it will save 5-6 k. First ask the dealer that which insurance he is providing than get the same company insurance from outside.(I bought Bajaj Allianz with drive assure package)

Hello All,
I am new to this website...
@ashikawa first of all congratulation for your new Polo [:)], I went through this thread and I am really impressed the way you have done the research.
I am planning to buy Polo 1.2 Comfortline,
I will be having running less than 500kms/month.
I will be drving to near by areas around city.
I have one question for you, in your post "UPDATE ON AMC" the Servicing and Maintenance chart you have provided
the 2nd(30k/2year) and 4th(60k/4year) servicing states that Brake Pad and Brake Shoe are changed. As considering my running
is there any need to change Brake Pad and Brake Shoe? Or after how many kms they worn out? Is it made compulsory by the dealer to change them? I had visited the VW showroom but as there was holiday I couldn't get much information. So did you ever got a chance to speak with the VW dealer regarding this?

And thanks for those who participated in the thread and shared their thoughts.

@PoloUser
Thanks for your compliments and congratulations for your to be Polo CL 1.2.

You point is right. I also think that with low running there will not be much need to change brake Pads/shoes. I too confronted my dealer workshop about this and they told that if i buy AMC, they will replace all these parts on kms /Yearly service basis without any excuse.

So after lot of thinking i decided to buy 4year/60k kms. AMC for 34072/- + 7199/- for two years extended warranty.

What i feel that it will increase the braking power as good as a new one and its being the only safety point for trendline and comfortline not having ABS etc. The cost of labour & spares also keep on increasing so i gambled and invested my money for tension free ownership for 4 years together with extended warranty.

Another Update for All VW owners - Rejuvenation Camp at VW workshops across India

Congrats on the polo..
The car exudes quailty. I like the no non-sense interiors.
VW dealers are notorius to find reason to void the warranty. As you rightly mentioned, please enquire before putting any after market accessories, especially electricals.
I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED IF THEY VOID THE WARRANTY FOR PUTTING THE WRONG FLOOR MATS[;)]

@ashikawa thanks for your quick reply [:)]. It seems VW is taking money from their customers in a sophisticated way. also looking at the 27950(for 3 years) and 19900(AMC 3years) we are SAVING 8050 and VW are LOSING 8050 [;)] , if they 8050(Brake Shoe+Brake Pad) ready to do it in AMC , I will ask VW not to change Brake Shoe+Brake Pad and charge me only 19900. are they promoting AMC?

@mumbaikar thank you.

I did not get your point. There are two AMC's 1. 3year/45k kms. 19900/- and 2. 4year/60k kms 34072/-. One has to opt between these two. Secondly extended warranty is for additional 2 years/ 100000 kms. costing 7199/-.

So one has only two options 1. go for any of these AMC's and 2. Go for usual services without AMC.

However if you are buying petrol car then check there are offers now and you can even get this 3 year AMC for free.

They are not promoting AMC. I had to push them to get this. Actually they are not smart enough to promote anything.

@Mumbaikar
You got it right. This is why i made myself fullproof with 4 year AMC+ 4 year warranty + all OEM accessories. Though so far people did not have any bad experience regarding voiding warranty.

@ashikawa I was saying that if they are overall charging less in AMC 3year/45k kms. 19900/-

Normal Servicing 3years : 27900
AMC Servicing 3years : 19900
So if they really want to save Customer's money(LOL) why are they not charging less in the Normal Servicing?
Don't you think this is little bit weird?
Correct me if I am getting this wrong.
I will get to the dealer this weekend and ask him about any free AMC is there or not.
Hoping that I will get some concrete information from the dealer and share with all [:)]

1. The estimate of normal service i.e. 27900 is calculated by me based on service bills and spare parts prices found on internet. It may be more and a little less , both possible.

2. AMC should always be on cheaper side because its a package and you are paying upfront for the same. If it is not cheaper compare to regular service than who will buy it paying upfront.

Boss you are great!!!

Considering Polo1.2 Comfort-line:

based on the information you provided I asked question question question to the Sales Representative...
1. Company is providing a free insurance on the car.
2. Some free 15k accessories.(In which I am planning to go for CD Player)I am allowed to spend on accessories only.
3. AMC is not free 3year/45k it costs 18k
4. 8k extended warranty for 2years/1k(kms) (It includes all engines parts ,as told by the Sales Rep.)

point 3 and 4 really gives a peace of mind...

The above point 1 and 2 are available till Nov 2011 only.
So what do you feel about the deal? Book this week or wait some more months?
Also I am little worried about A.S.S .

Awaiting your reply.

GO Ahead. After all you are buying India's most desirable car. You won't regret buying a Polo. Every time you sit inside you will know you took the right decision.

Rest AMC and Extended warranty will do the remaining job of happy ownership.

Ask your dealer , with which companies he has insurance tie up. If it is TATA AIG/ BAJAJ Allianze / Bharti Axa / ICICI / Oriental insurance / Royal Sundaram , then insist for a 0% Dep. Policy, even you need to pay some extra for that. You can also bargain to buy policy from outside and getting the insurance amount as discount. If you buy from outside then tell me i will let you know about some important things to check while buying.

You will get the 0% Dep. Policy from outside at the same price dealer is quoting you for non 0% Dep.
