Engine is a bit noisy at cold start but once your drive it this noise goes away. Polo's cabin is silent, refreshing and give feel of safety and i like it more and more after every drive. Do take a test drive and many of your misconceptions about Polo will disappear. Its build like a tank and you will feel being in safe hands while driving a Polo.I instantly fell in love when i went to test drive this car. [thumbsup]

hey guys i purchased a polo tdi highline 2 months ago and clocked 2800 kms, after this much time i have noticed/concluded
1) The statement about engine noise as ashikawa quoted is true but driving continuously more than 70km and driving slow after doing 100 kmph + sometimes sound reminds of my dad's government jeep.
2) no provision of locking car doors from inside individually and they can be opened from outside if not locked from a tiny button on drivers side.(not so thoughtful).
3) rear view vision is hindered from passenger headrests.
4) no matter what sells person tells you about the glass being already tinted and all, you have to go for films as glass area is more and becomes hot (very) if parked in sun for 30 minutes or more. same goes for the "premium" seat covers.
5) most important is that company provides you a 2 DIN FM/CD player (awesome quality though), with no remote and no USB/Aux IN support what so ever, and if you want to change only dealer can change that.
I was given option to exchange the company fitted system and fit system of my choice (but from the dealership only as they started talking about warranty and all scary stuff on else case), and they will exchange it for 7500 INR. 2 din (kenwood w/o speakers)they were offering with i pod support and usb and other fancy things which is a must was priced 20000 INR so i have to give my new system and give 12500 INR to get my i pod connected to this music hating car. I refused and burned cds, but cds tend to wear out and it is not easy to navigate too.
guys this are not problems these are mere observations, but the car is good to look at, nice to sit in and better to drive. people complaining about 75 ps power and 3 cylinder odd engine is just baseless because frankly what are you going to do with so much power which is not even needed for a hatchback, acceleration is nice enough and handling is like moving spoon in bowl of cream (twin power steering), gear shifts are smooth in any condition. breaks are nice and ABS works great (personal experience).
i need suggestions regarding CD player and also open to questions regarding ownership and stuff.

First of all congratulations for buying the hottest hatch, that too a TDI Highline. Do start your ownership review with a lot of pics of your germen beauty.

2) no provision of locking car doors from inside individually and they can be opened from outside if not locked from a tiny button on drivers side.(not so thoughtful)..
Its a safety feature indeed. You can secure rear doors with child lock if required. I knew a few incidences where people got burnt inside car due to non availablity of this feature. Better educate the occupants about not pulling the latch while car in motion.
3) rear view vision is hindered from passenger headrests. .
Yes it is. But recessed headrests have their own disadvantage. You will get neck pain on long drive because its placed a little forward compare to seat backrest.

4) no matter what sells person tells you about the glass being already tinted and all, you have to go for films as glass area is more and becomes hot (very) if parked in sun for 30 minutes or more. same goes for the "premium" seat covers..
That's true. You need sun-films for complete protection from sun. Seat covers are art-leather and tend to get hot. Better one should get the same at around 2-3k from outside instead of 7k from showroom.
5) most important is that company provides you a 2 DIN FM/CD player (awesome quality though), with no remote and no USB/Aux IN support what so ever, and if you want to change only dealer can change that.

As i have a Trendline (no music system) , I got the VW one priced for around 13 k with usb support from dealer. If you want to exchange original do it now. Because you are getting good price 7.5k for the same. Outside also you will not get any better exchange price for the same. That 20k music system has all blows and whistles.

Agree. The 3 cylinder /underpowered etc. is a highly publicized myth. This hatch has adequate power to pull its load and stable at high speeds. Also the high engine noise is a debatable issue as it is not that high what is claimed by some people. You will also feel the noise getting less after run-in period

Better get any one of provided by VW to avoid any warranty issue and peace of mind. There are a lot of music systems available in market with better features and at cheaper price but its not worth messing up with electricals for saving some bucks.

Congartulation for your Polo.
I have purchased Kenwood Single DIN /AUX/USB w/F.Speakers code: 6R0346 USB
I had to purchase rear speakers from the dealer.
The music system comes with a remote control, system cost me around 13500(fitting charges + tax ) approx.

Hope this helps :)

Here you can find all features of a Polo Trendline Petrol Variants < Polo < Models < Welcome to Volkswagen India

As far as one reverse light is concerned, its not an issue. Better you go to any dealership, check the car yourself, test drive and make your own informed decision.BTW i too own a Polo Trendline Petrol.[:)]

Engine Oils for Polo Petrol
As you all know that I am a petrol Polo owner. Next month my car is due for service. And I have a 4 year AMC to take care of service needs. But what about those who don’t have an AMC. There may be people who even won’t go to dealer workshop for Oil change/ top up and instead will get it done themselves.
I have done a small research and found this info.
VW Polo Petrol car’s engine oil should meet VW 502 00 spec. So any oil which has this approval is right for your petrol Polo.
Available brands with VW 502 00 specs. are:
1. Castrol Magnatec Professional B4 5W 40 (sold at dealerships at 970/- per ltr.)
2. Castrol Magnatec Professional OE 5W 40 (Available outside @ 665/- per ltr.)
3. Mobil 1 0W 40
4. Elf Total Qaurtz 9000 energy
5. Shell Helix Ultra
Reference document and manufacturer approval information is attached with this post for your information. Hope this helps.
