@allhyundaicars: Things to remember about changing cables:

1. ALWAYS go for an OEM cable (I guess it's Minda for the TBTS)

2. It's the routing of the cable that should be correct. Roadside mechanics wont have a clue about it. Do yourself a favour, go to a RE showroom and have a look at the routing of a new TBTS. Any replacement cable HAS TO FOLLOW the same routing. Its hardly a 10 minute job to install a new clutch cable.

And c'mon, what are you doing with an Enfield if you aren't a grease monkey;) !!?? Try getting your hands dirty, its fun. Really!

Rotuing = Route = The way or path taken by the cable from the clutch lever to the clutch actuating arm. If the path is wrong, the cable may have to bear extra torque due to which it will eventually fray/break.

Just a suggestion: High time you changed your login to allhyundaicarsandanenfieldtoo ;)

^^^ Isn't the 350 a twin spark??
Oh, yes, sorry. But Thunderbird Twinspark and Thunderbird 350 are different bikes.. :/
Not really. Just a nip here and a tuck there. The engine and mechanicals are exactly the same.

thanks for explaining. the mechanic had to remove the clutch lever , something went wrong i think.

a guy , who himself came to buy something , suggested me to go for atleast 2 clutch cables to save me the trouble from coming back again.

but there was no point in purchasing 2 because i know this will last for many months [:D]

and why did i say this , if there is any minor problem , i do it myself but if i don't have any knowledge about anything it's best to let the professional do the work.

anyways , i see each and everything any mechanic does with my bike or even my car.

lol , many people will get confused [:D] some people only write AHC and just all hyundai also , and after your suggestion it'll become AHCAET. lol.

Time for an update.
odo is around 9000kms.

just came back changing the rear brake shoe. ( 315rs + 100rs labour )

mechanic said there was minimum oil left in the bike [confused]

he said , since it's a heavy engine oil consumption is normal and you drive in high rpms ( which i do ) that's causing the oil to burn.

is it normal with all bullets ? i paid him for the oil and will get the oil changed tomorrow. last service i did was in december and the bike covered just 800 kilometers since.

Had loads of fun today [cheers] 3 REs together on silent roads around the ridge area.

2 friends bought RE CLASSIC and RE ELECTRA. We're stopped at 4 checkposts but had all the paperwork [;)] and the police guys too were asking about the price and mileage of all the REs.

It should be a fun to go on trip with 3 different bullets with different characteristics. Hope it should be a different experience. Please share your riding experience to the forum. And photos too.

We just roam around the DU. We did not go on a long trip ( I wish I could) :(

Anyways, the Classic doesn't join us everyday but me and my friend with electra ride everyday. [:)]

TB has covered around 9050 kilometers. And got new seat cover from karol bagh.

I was thinking of selling the bike but will fix it instead [;)] paint and rust removal, horn, a new leg guard and possible engine repair. And all done ;)

i haven't started the bike for 3 months so as a result the battery is dead. i didn't check the battery itself but none of the electrics were working.

anyone knows which brand and what type of battery i need to buy and the estimate price ? ( don't think recharging will be a solution since the battery is 6 years old , so would like to change it )

The UCE does consume oil - frictional losses are somehow too high. It's best to keep checking the oil level at regular intervals else one may hazard an expensive seizure.

Replaced the battery. Battery is 14A and costed 2200 rupees after giving the old battery.
What brand?
