Why to price it higher when they have to give discounts in one way or the other.
OT:- Sale of Petrol cars are so low now a days. Even if the running is less people are plunging for Diesel cars irrespective whether it makes a financial sense or not. (I am talking in general.)

well anyway 1 lakh discount is mouth watering for anyone. new city dont have major changes. its VFM to go for this city now IMO.
1 lakh discount with 15K freebies is good but unfortunately few dealers in Delhi / NCR do not have a car with them to give these offers.

I don't think so. They had been giving hefty discounts since the price surge happened for Honda cars. They need to sustain in the market despite the ravages in Thailand.
Yeah. Bookings are going in full fledge. The SE was very much excited (Read: To pocket more incentives this month).
The particular offer of 1L cash discount is available on pushing the SE. Forgot to mention in my previous post (This was for my friend who wanted to book a ANHC).
90K cash discount is on paper for everyone. For extra 10k just a little bit of push is enough along with 3M sunfilm + 3M teflon coating + Car cover + Reverse parking sensors (~15K) and further push is required for tank full petrol (Remember - It's a costly item).

Petrol prices have also affected the car sales. Since Sunny is available only with Petrol variants right now, there’s not much Nissan could do to push up the sales.

I agree with you Vibhor but they should have corrected the prices at the beginning itself. What is the point giving discounts so early OR they can pump a Diesel heart in it and get some attention. I have seen one only Sunny so far.
