Slowdown or not - December normally is one of the best periods to fetch a better deal because dealers are keen to clear up the remaining stock or to meet the certain sales target. This may not be applicable for cars with huge demand though which are selling like hot cakes (For Example: Suzuki Swift, Honda Jazz). its best you ask dealer itself as he might give you better discount if he is seeing more cars being purchased by one person

Sad to see Ford guys are struggling to achieve decent sales figures of their New Fiesta. I dont think Discounts would help Ford guys, what needs to be done is price revision.
