Re: Mitsubishi Pajero Sport: Review | Test Drive | Pictures

@ thinkingcoder I missed your posts fantastic stuff there with the double din, please share more details where you bought it from for how much - I was secretly hoping this comes in the facelift version but it didn't also did you have any back end interface changes or I guess this double din also connects directly to the mid interface ?

Btw race chip I looked it up but didn't have practical feedback, can you please post detailed pics of the connector and installation - please share a detailed review of differences. I remember an Internet video claiming some 217 bhp on Dyno
Also keep us posted on longer term impacts if any.

@vijayvm some differences I noted
Rear brakes go drum
Double decker mid with touchscreen
Auto Day/night internal mirror
Second row seat not sliding
Front bumper, fog and grille have visual changes
Rear tail lamps go clear
at and paddle shift off-course
Orvms with turn indicators
Tyres are Apollo ht but tread looked pretty similar to the at I have , either case you will eventually replace to better shoes
Rear bumper underhang not body colored as in anniversary edition
No dvd screens that was in limited edition only

Internal cool box is anyways a tropical aftermarket thing, some dealers are throwing it for free.
Pajero sport used to have sliding second row?

4x4 still gets rear discs. Only 4x2 has drum brakes at rear.

i guess 4x2 AT has disc in drum brakes ( seriously don't know what it is ).[confused]
There is a mistake in their official brochure. Only 4x4 has disc-in-drum brakes, which means it has both disc and drum brakes in rear wheels. This is normal in all cars with 4 wheel disc brakes I think. The drum brakes works only for hand brake.

4x2 AT has only drum brakes at rear.

PS doesn't have VSC so does it make a difference? coz vehicle of this SIZE should have VSC. Howz the handling without it?
Well they have it in Thailand and SA and Mitsubishi calls it ATSC, a fairly nice system, unfortunately we dont have it i the Indian version.

Off-course having it is great advantage, its not like as if you will be using and missing it daily, but its like a insurance, you will find it of great advantage in emergency maneuvers.

Dear Friends - I just joined today but have been reviewing this site for the past 2 weeks to understand more about the Pajero Sport.
I currently own XUV W8 FWD and was looking to upgrade, it has run 72k in 3 years mostly highway and city driving, was looking forward to upgrade to New Age XUV or Rexton until i test drove the Pajero 4X2 AT...and it was awesome...To decide on what to buy, i had read the reviews in this site by IR and SS and deciding to go for Pajero sport...
I am planning on 4X2 as 95% of my travel would be highways etc and not into real offroading but understand from the dealer that 4X2 AT is also capable of doing offroading except for slush...
I would like to know the parameters and guidance from you folks for doing the PDI and am located in Bangalore. Please share the PDI parameters and the procedure how to check.
Thank you

Dr.Kaustubh, am not so sure I would want the VSC. I would worry about its misfiring. In other South African websites I picked up stuff about its firing at the wrong juncture while in turns / crossings etc. Also, while the Fortuner in India has it, I also read in the same forums about old fishtailing problems and suspected that this VSC was a solution to prevent that. The Pajero does not seem to have any feedback anywhere about such problems of losing tail. The less the electronics the better, at least for me. I recent met a MT Pajero Sport owner at the dealer shop who also owns a new Fortuner AT, 4x4, which has the VSC. He still said Pajero was more stable and enable him to drive with greater freedom, except in cities where he preferred the AT.

Very warm welcome to the forum Anbu
Please check this thread for detailed pdi list :-

For the Pajero Especially try out the super select box with caution and the MID/ Stereo. I would pay very detailed attention to body and paint quality.

Thank You IR.

I have booked blue color PS AT. Expecting delivery around next weekend.

I will certainly go through the PDI.

Additionally, i was thinking about the tyres, they are giving Apollo and was looking at changing them...my mileage of tyres on my previous cars were app 80k with bridgestone dueller for Scorpio, xuv.

Firstly, should i change apollo? If yes to which ones...the show room guys suggested Pirelli ATR but asking me 45k extra for exchange...so should i go ahead with him or look for any alternative tyre showroom in Bangalore?

I am getting PS at all inclusive of 30L, is it a good price or still room.for nego?

He is giving me 3 d mats, fender mirror and door wisors.

Thank you

Anbu. Wise decision. Great choice. The deal is better than what I got last month. Congratulations.

I changed immediately to Michelin Latitude Cross for 15k for all 5 tyres put together so worked out very cheap for me. So far experience has been exceptional. Very smooth ride in city and highway but moves over potholes at high speeds like a glider.

Hi Iron Rock. For polishing the 17" wheels what do yo use? I noticed that they get pretty dirty and the regular washing does not make them shine easily.

Hi Giri, I dont do anything very specific, I just add a foaming shampoo on top of formula 1 to help ease up the grime.
