Re: Mitsubishi Pajero Sport: Review | Test Drive | Pictures

@ironrock I got the unit from a small company that directly imports this unit. They handle the install as well. They are based in Kochi and I can send out their coordinates if you need. I didn't have to change anything. Basically plug and play into the mid and fits right into the standard slot/ mid interface. Has navigation/ dvd playback and all the other usual stuff as well. I was looking around for a long time since I hated the analog look of the original mid but I was unhappy with the new kenwood unit that comes with the anniversary edition. This fit my need to a T :)

I am out of town for this week. Will definitely send out chip installation details and pics once I get back. I want to dyno it before I can comment on its effect but the seat of the pants feeling is that lag has reduced and the engine feels less strained in all gears.

Hopefully there shouldn't be any long term impact other than increased driving pleasure. Fingers crossed on that.

Got ICE upgraded in my PS. Following came together to make it -

Ripped apart the Kenwwod stock and replaced by Pioneer Flagship 8690BT - 29000/-
Rainbow Soundline 12" Subwoofer - 1 Nos. - 16500/-
Rainbow iPaul 4.300 4 channel pre-amp - 1 No. - 24800/-
Digital Design AM 1 monoblock pre-amp- 1 No. 15200/-
Rainbow Soundline Comps - Front as well as Rear - 38400/-

supported by

Damping - 9000/-
AIV 4 Guage Kit - 7000/-
AIV Speaker Wire - 16 mtrs - 3200/-
Woofer Wire - 4 mtrs - 1600/-
RCA Cables - 2000/-
Rings - 4 - 1300/-
Woofer Box - 2000/-

Total - 150000/-

Initially I decided to live with the stock kenwood HU as it provided 3 outs. Later it had to be removed and thrown off. Just did not work well. Did not gel with the rest of the system. The Pioneer plays like magic.

Initially installed 2 Rockford Fosgate shallow subs to avoid wasting 1 third row seat space. They too had to be replaced. Came out to be huge compromise. For a car with such large cabin space, they were falling short. Finally they had to give way for a single Rainbow SL series and the world is a different place since then.

I got the system done at Driven Delhi. Took the team a dedicated 9 hours or day 1 and almost same the next time.

I must mention - It was an absolute pleasure working with team Driven. The job they did was commendable. I guess some 3 hours were dedicated only for the damping. The amount of cabling the system required called for almost all things in the car to be ripped apart and I had my heart in mouth at all times. But the way these guys were taking care, it just felt awesome. You don't need to tell them to take care at any point in time. Every panel, every screw that was removed were handled with atmost care possible and kept away from dust and accidental damage/misplacement. While I started the day with Rana, Subhaan dropped in after a couple of hours and the way he took pain to stick every peace of damping, it was just awesome! Gunbir Singh spent a lot of time with us and then finally worked on the tuning. The next time it was Jasjeet. Met Rajan also by chance. He was one of the guys who gave the initial gyan. It was a pleasure meeting him and exchanging notes while the installation was going on.

End of the day, the music is light years ahead of what the stock system provided. Anyone on this side of the world (Delhi-NCR), feel free to shout for a demo. Worth it!

And next on the cards - the alloys facelift! Will throw in some pics once done.

All pepping up for that upcoming leh-ladhakh trip. [:)]

Thank you Iron Rock.

Yeah, I was thinking of getting them painted. Still wondering whether the paint will have sufficient life or no. Any ideas?

That rubber paint is cheap, after spending nearly the cost of a thunderbird 500 [lol] just on a ICE - a 500 rs experiment is not at all a worry for you. Give it a shot, its easily removable anyways - what color are you planning though ?

mine is a yellow-white vehicle with a few stickers using red. So yellow, white, red, black and chrome are the colors used.

I am thinking of 'smoke gray'...with the Mitsubishi logo in the center of each type alloy - painted red possibly. Let's see how it goes.

Re: Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Review | Test Drive | Pictures

Dear All,

Wanted help or clarification.
I have been driving Pajero Sports MT since last 9 months and done 18000 Kms.
2 days back i had a clutch breakdown in middle of highway.
The dealer - Excel motors in Delhi and the company North service head Mr. Washim says that the only reason could be that "you have been driving car by constantly keeping your feet on Clutch" .

This is so ridiculous and for sure not true in my case. I have other cars and none have gone for clutch replacement till 80,000+ Kms.

Want to take them to Consumer Court for sure and i am here to find if anyone else has suffered the same.

Pls. suggest.

TIA
Sudhir

Assuming this is in warranty - please write to mitsu india - they should fix this under warranty. I havent heard of this at all amidst the vehicles i knew. Dont go by what the dealer says.

There is no reason a clutch could wear out in 18000km unless it was severly abused and clutch abuse can be detected upon opening the clutch bell housing unit pretty easily.

I would suggest you write to HMFCL directly and request them for an impartial investigation into the issue. You can also avoid Excel Motors and go to their other dealer at Ghaziabad, Vivek Autolinks. The Head of Service there, Mr. Tyagi is known to be a good person.
