ARAI claimed is 17.24 and your friend is getting 17
"False Advertising"
But this is true and top of that not a advertisement, so stop blaming [surprise]

And you will more shock to hear that ARAI figure of New swift diesel is 22.9 kmpl but few people are also reporting mileage of 23kmpl fyi.

He might be wrong in his calculation or i heard it wrong!

I havent got a figure of 17 kmpl yet as I havent exclusively driven on highways. For city driving 17 is almost impossible, even 15 is also hard to attain. But still smooth driving definitely improves FE.

You posted a pic showing 17.6 kmpl few days back- what were the % of highway and city if you remember.

..
@Rightnow : that was just for the sake of attaining the numbers. i did a tank full and then reset the tripmeter.
Drove at a speed of 50 in 5 gear for 15 kms without AC(some stops ) , i saw the numbers increasing and increasing
I think 12-13 is a good city mileage with AC and only way polo is able to achieve is due to the 3 cylinder engine
my i10 used to give not more than 11

@Toughguy : even i have heard some ppl claiming more than ARAI but only heard for diesel engines even i heard the same for swift and nissan micra 26 kmpl can you believe ,, diesel engines getting more and more advanced and refined

Confirmed the same with him again he is getting 15-17kmpl in his Polo petrol consistently on his office drive, he drives from Noida to Greater Noida and his fuel average depends upon the traffic and his flexi office hours.

Yes, and my i10 1.2 magna is giving me 12kmpl in city and 13kmpl on highway with AC on and with spirited drive.
Mine was 1.1 , used to give 12 with AC in city with sane driving, with spirited driving it used to give around 10 only
1.2 kappa is a great engine I guess

Buddy, the highways of greater noida are pretty open and less congested than Delhi ones. The Barapula highway in Delhi even has speed breakers!!

So, driving in Delhi is almost like driving in city and if I am getting 14 out of it is not bad at all. I can say that refilling doesn't pinch me now as it used to with my Wagon-R.

For all petrol owners per km costs rs 5 on an average
Earlier I used to drive with a very light foot and even used to shift to neutral while downhill on flyovers. ( but I have stopped doing it now)
It used to show good figures 15 -16 on board but never verified via tankfull method

I know, my waggy used to give me more than 12kmpl in city with AC then i got CNG kit on it and got 18km/kg did you had/have K-series engine or what?

I exchanged my waggy with Polo diesel as driving a car on CNG is a painful thing at least for me.

Check my Wagon-R 26 Hrs nonstop and Solo drive thread below:
