Re: One year and 19k kilometers

Guys..
This one goes for my beloved polo for completing one year- HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

I still remember a year back, almost at this hour I took the keys and couldn't stop the ear to ear smile on my face, I still remember the smell of the new car, still can't forget how cool I felt, can't forget how she turned heads down the road.

366 days and approx 18800 kms on ODO and my polo doesn't fail to excite me every time I hit the road. Happy Birthday again!!
Congrats on completing 1 year. [clap] Wishing you to enjoy the company of your POLO in the coming year also.!!!

Yes, this is an old pic. I don't have good recent pics. I should borrow an SLR from friend soon to take recent pics. The chrome strip is very much there still.

Congrats on completing 1 year. [clap] Wishing you to enjoy the company of your POLO in the coming year also.!!!
Thanks pka11. I am sure I will enjoy every year that passes by with her.

Happy Birthday to your polo buddy.
And seriously, almost 19k in 1 year is too much for petrol. I mean, could have saved a heck lot of money on fuel if opted for diesel. I own a diesel & did only 14.5k in a year. Anyways, whatever happens, you are enjoying the car & that's what a driver should do!
May your car live a long time! [:)]

Well that's right, I could have got the diesel. You know I had some plans to settle near my office soon after I bought polo, but the plans could not materialize somehow. Anyways, I have never looked back at my decision coz I am enjoying polo to the brim.

Thanks for wishes!

How about the mileage in city & Highway? [:)]
As per my earlier tankful methods: City: 11 to 12.5 kmpl

Never did tankful for highways, but after considering MID error, 15-16 kmpl it should be.
That reminds me that its been quite a while since I did tank full calculation.

I would like to share something very important related to parking scenario in my area..
For a few days I noticed some scratches on drivers door in my polo, I was suspecting my neighbour as the car is parked more in front of his gate, so I order camera from ebay and it has been going fine for few days but what i noticed today was heart taking for any vehicle owner. I saw my neighbour and his friends making some faces watching the camera and then one of them stood very near to the car and the other was throwing a stone to show as if he was throwing the stone to that person but I was sure about what he wanted. I ran downstairs , it was chilly evening and I was also not dressed in accordance to the cold atmosphere. I asked him very politely why he was doing so and he told me I was not doing my friends were doing, I just wanted to finish this then and there and I told him in high tone not to repeat this to which he replied that, why don't you park your car in front of your home. To this I bashed him saying that we all are paying road tax and this place is owned by mcd and not in any sense he can talk to me in this way. I told him that he also owns a vehicle and even I can pick stones to which he replied that go ahead.
Now I would want you guys to help me on this. Should I stop parking my vehicle there, because I really don't have any time to even get in any discussion with these kind of loosers
I would want to tell you that the place is very safe where I used to park till now .
Any suggestions?

PS: I really want to talk to his dad, the guy is just 20 years old, these spoiled brats, or should I teach him a lesson with baseball bat ..

That's really sad to know Poloman. Seriously a bunch of losers with no work in life would end up doing such a pity thing.
Parking has become a real pain everywhere. Even we have a parking space for only 2 cars in front of our house and our 3rd car ends up getting parked in the neigbours empty space. But that goes without saying, a permission from them was taken before hand for the same.
To be honest if i were in your position, i would take up the matter with his parents first and let them know what's their son and his friends have been upto. But still no point parking your car at the same spot, as these dumbheads will again do something to your prized possession. Better find some other safe spot for your Polo and be worry free.

P.S. - Drop the baseball bat idea. No point going down at their level IMO.

I am sure this guy's parents already know about it, there is a possibility that even his parents aren't happy about you parking your car in front of their premises.
I would suggest you to be calm and talk to his parents, request them if you can park your car in that place. Give them some gyan on brotherly neighborhood etc. and they will definitely understand the problem. Every Delhite knows the parking problems in Delhi. If it doesn't work out then find somewhere else, because there is no point getting into arguments and fights, you both neighbors might end up with bitter experiences.

Go ahead and get polo. If possible get the comfortline variant which includes many features that you may miss in trendline.
If you love driving, you will enjoy each moment wit polo. Best of luck.

Hey guyz,
i finally got my new polo 1.2 L TL white a month back.
the steel quality, plastic quality and feel is just awesome, which no other car co could match.
But there are some issue which i need to reslove.
1. The car manual and petrol lid shows that car needs 95 RON fuel
(while in India normal fuel available is 89 RON, speed 93- Rs.76 and speed 97- Rs 91 delhi rates) I am confused which fuel to use and whether using 89 RON will have adverse effects.

2. The AC switches on automatically every time I switch on the blower, which is particularly annoying because most of the time i want only blower to run and not AC.

3. The engine noise. I bought a petrol car but now feel that this is no less than diesel because of huge noise .

4. The company claimed that mileage of 17.24 km/l and what I get is petty 10 km/l which is disappointing (I also own Honda City which claims 16.8 km/L and gives me 13.5 km/L)

May be there are some things which i may be doing wrong...I need your suggestions. Please help me regarding these issues...[confused]
