In MSIL cars there is a lot of body roll while driving with 4-5 persons inside, and you cannot just push it harder because the weight messes up with the handling of the vehicle due to its flimsy built.

Can anyone tell if the tensile steel used in ciaz can help in improving this aspect of the vehicle keeping in mind its light weight?

Can't say anything now, we need to personally drive the vehicle. [:)] By the way high tensile steel is not a flimsy stuff, it is very strong and light weight. And also expensive. I know this because my father is a builder. He showed me the strength of high tensile steel wires in construction. They are pretty impressively strong. High tensile steel is used to build ships frame, used in construction, used in vehicles etc.

Lol, no. How could I ? I know as much as you know [confused]. I have my own reasons for leaning towards Ciaz. I am not expecting the performance of Ciaz to put the roads on fire. I personally like Fiesta, but the dealer here is very lethargic here to sell the vehicle. So far only 2 Fiesta's have been sold and another 5 people are awaiting for delivery from more than a month. I think Ford is least interested in selling fiesta's. And more over my current work load has increased to an extent where I cannot dedicate much time towards my vehicle, so I need a reliable beast. Over the years I have built a good rapport with my Maruti dealership as well as service personnel. So, no matter what they will fix my car in a jiffy. Not once in 6 years neither they over filled or under filled engine oil in my car. All the spares are readily available, if not they get it from some where else. And above all, I know in and out of 1.3 MJD. If something happens on road, I need not wait until mechanic arrives, I can figure it out myself mostly. [:)]

By the way, I would like to add that "INDIANS DONT LIKE OUTDATED"

You didn't? I'm sorry, then. I saw that post, I cannot find it again. I can only find the closest match, vm2011 saying he had "the chance to feel Ciaz.". But I'm quite sure that wasn't it. Either way, sorry again [roll].

Chill out bro, you need not apologize. Its just a mis-understanding. Pricing is still being decided. It might be between 12-12.35 lakhs for ZDI+ on road hyderabad.

I went to a local dealer. Apparently the brochures of Ciaz are already dispatched but he ran out of them. His estimate on pricing is Rs.7 – 12 Lakh (based on variant).

12 lakhs [confused] Ex-showroom or on-road ? If it is 12- lakhs ex-showroom, then it is going to be expensive than city. If it is expensive than city then it is going be utter flop. Anyways Maruti will never mess up the pricing.

Showroom guys normally tells on road price, thus I believe it was the same case here. R
ight, Maruti will never keep it costlier than City. In fact we all are hoping that it would undercut City by 1 lacks [:)]

Maruthi Suzuki still wants to play with People Safety with their lower variant of premium cars. [frustration]

Projector headlamps,
Keyless entry
Four speakers + two tweeters,
Keyless entry,
Tilt-adjustable steering,
Height-adjustable seatbelts,
Chromed interior-door handles,
Trip computer,
Manual AC,
Rear AC vents,
Front and rear armrests,
Electrically adjustable ORVM's with integrated turn indicators.

Are these are much more important features than ABS & (Atleast) Driver side airbag.

Look at the base variant of 2014 releases. All the below releases have ABS & Driver Airbag in their base variant.

You are right. ABS and Air bag should be mandatory from base level. What happened to Indian government that has announced mandatory ABS and Airbags from 2017? has Maruthi Suzuki forgot it?

I'm also disappointed for launching a NAKED version of Ciaz in India, removing or not providing bigger engine, larger alloys, sunroof, chrome grille, chrome encasing and don't know what else. Its not just Maruthi Suzuki but most of other companies do same for India, including Honda. Are we different from other countries? Do we get products for free?

they showed a different car in auto expo 2014. Why is it that they show modified cars that we are going to launch this soon and when the real version comes out, it feels like it is somehow incomplete version [surprise]
