Tushar,

did you have overcoat done on your car from the MASS? If not, if you haven't got any scratched on your car as yet, go to the MASS and have it done. You can do it with aftermarket people like 3M also. Overcoat is the same as Teflon / paint sealer / top coat / clearcoat / polish etc, as people refer it. Its actually a film of clear paint that is applied on top of your base paint and it serves to protect the base paint in case of minor scratches. In addition, it makes the car surface shine like those show cars. Any contaminants can then be easily wiped off. If you get a scratch, the overcoat will get scratched, so paint underneath will remain protected and you can patch just the over coat with the various pens available for this. You wont need a shampoo then, just have someone wash the car daily with a bucket of water. Use a good microfiber cloth to clean

For tyres, just ask the washer to clean with water. Even if you polish it, it will get soiled within a short distance

For interiors, our cars have a plastic interior, so those waxes etc don't work too well (they are meant for leather wrapped interiors). When I got the HU fitted, the installer put a number of scratches dirt in many places. I cleaned it and used STP son-of-a-gun polish. You spray it on and spread with evenly a brush or just your fingers (I shifted over to a paint brush after I cut my hand spreading the polish), then let is be for 15-20 minutes. It will start forming a transparent sheen. Then just rub off the excess with a microfiber cloth. That gives the interiors a polished feel. Don't use the polish on the controls such as steering, gear knob etc as it makes them slippery. Also don't apply polish if you drive with the windows down. Any polish has a sticky finish that will collect dust and look worse. Don't use Turkish towels for the same reason- their lint sticks to the polish

EPS Light stays On

My 2012 Swift VDi has started displaying the EPS light even after starting. The light first came up after I started the car after a week of inactivity. However, the EPS light comes up intermittently, sometimes at cold starts in the morning or after a long drive and shut down and restart.
I had shown it to MASS earlier and the error code registered was C1113. The SA cleared the code up and since the last few weeks it was fine until yesterday night it shows up again. Had to start and shutdown the car a couple of times before it finally went away.
The car had an under warranty replacement of water pump a couple of months back. The pump bearings failed and were producing noise, hence it was replaced along with coolant. Not sure if its related.

It all depends on your driving style. You should get somewhere between 60 to 80km. I've gone until 60km after fuel light came up. Couldn't fathom the courage to go further.

Tushar,

dont do it. You dont want to be stuck in traffic pushing your nonstarting car with horns blaring everywhere Just put in a couple of litres of petrol a week. Or as I do, top it off once and fill it when you get to half tank

Ideally I would never run my car until the fuel warning lights up. But it has occurred once that my preferred pump was busy and hence decided to continue. It is advisable on new cars to never run with low fuel. It might damage the fuel pump and you might have to incur heavy expense at Service center to get your car to running shape. It can happen once or twice that you fuel up after the warning lights up but I would suggest that you do not make it a habit. I normally tank up after my indicator shows 1/4 level.

Can anyone point me to the probable root cause of this issue?
