The brakes being sharper might be due to the brake dust being washed away by rain. With no brake dust on the disc and pad, the brakes might have performed better.
Thats a good explanation. Do the Swift owners feel that replacing the original brake pads (I think they are TVS) with Bosch or Brembo helps braking in the Swift?

Its prudent that we slow the car using engine braking and stop the car using clutch and brake for effective braking. Engaging the clutch prematurely disengages the engine (along with the benefit of engine braking), which translates to more input force on the brake pedal.
I know. While I am trying to get rid of the tendancy to declutch while braking, sometimes I do it intentionally such as when approaching a signal that I know will not change. Also, you know, sometimes we lift and coast. In these situations the brakes feel infdifferent.

WagonR has a comparatively lower kerb weight than the Swift hence would require less force. With the same amount of force, the distance would be lower.
I had the older Waggie. The difference if I remember is only 30-40kgs

Its a spring type antennae. Inside there is a coiled spring and then the short straight antennae run. Saw it on someone's car which had lost the rubber cover. It will bend but after putting a cover for a few days, I noticed that it retains the bent shape

Yes, it does bend. If you use a car cover for a considerable amount of time (without provision for antenna), then it will bend surely. Even if you try to bend it by hand, it will not come to its 100% original shape (though it will try to come back to the original shape).

What you can try to straighten the antenna is to remove it from the car by rotating it clockwise/anti-clockwise (don't remember correctly :stupid:) and then trying to figure out the point of bend and correcting it. Straightening it when fixed on the car is a tad difficult as it is tilted when fixed on the car.

PS. My MGA cover for Dzire is very helpful as it has proper provisions for ORVMs and Antenna.

Its due to it being Petrol. Petrol cars require some amount of accelerator input to get moving. Idle rpm of petrol cars being lower also contributes to an extent since a car would only start moving when the weight is overcome by the force pushing/pulling it. Also, petrol cars being made more fuel efficient also contributes since you would have to lower the performance to gain the maximum mileage.

I did get a quote from the local battery shop for 5500. Adjusting another 500 for my old battery. So stuck with BatteryBhai.com. Placed order at 4:30 PM and the guy called me at 6:00 PM to confirm that he is on his way and the approximate time he would reach me. The guy came in at 7:05 PM with a sealed battery manufactured in June 2015. From there on it took about 15 min to replace the old battery with the new one. I opted for Cash on Delivery. By 7:25 PM the guy left after settling the amount and took my old OEM Exide with him. He gave a warranty card, proper bill and his contact no. for any issues. The funny thing is I paid 4749.00, however, his bill mentions 5749.00.

Yeah i just wanted to confirm if they give recently manufactured batteries or not[thumbsup]

And i don't know how these bill things work. When purcahsing a mobile they do the same and write the actual amount with pencil at the back.

A small query- do you find the rear suspension on the swift too stiff? I had 33psi in both front & rear and i was vibrating & bouncing away on a generally road in the back. When i reduced both to 32psi, it went softer but still not as comfortable as in my friend's Alto 800 (he puts in 30psi). I have had balancing and alignment checked

I think the company defined rear tyre pressure for Swift is 33 psi. You could reduce it by 2 psi at max and check it. People have reduced it upto 30 psi, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you drive on smooth tarmac.

I drive within the city but you can hardly call it as smooth tarmac.

The question I am asking is, do fellow owners have the same problem?

A smooth tarmac meant a normal roads within our city. I drive with 33 psi on my rear tyres since my daily commute is not through smooth roads.
