Yup. Tyres should ideally be changed after 4 years - thats the shelf life of the rubber compound. Your tyre guy is absolutely correct.

Re: Maruti Suzuki Ritz LDI Ownership Review - 3 Years, 30000 Kms - Zero Issues !!

After yesterday's WA and WB, steering was slightly pulling towards left. Visited the Wheel balancing shop again to check it.

Yesterday he rotated the tyres(right rear to front) so this tyre was culprit with its uneven wear which is not visible directly. The tyre shop fellow mentioned this about tyres as from now on these kind of issues will come up as the tyres have become hard and will have this kind of wear and tear. Changed the right front again to rear and now issue got solved.

Hmm, with this its seems to be I should be ready to replace the tyres after my 40K service.[cry]

He sell Hankook and BS , Michelin tyres and suggested me to go with Hankook which have same rubber like BS and cheaper by around Rs.1000. I will check them during my 40K service

I think 4years is too less to change the tyres. Tyres can easily last 5-6 years before they should be changed irrespective of themileage. Michelin on their site recommends 10years as the changing interval so assuming 6years for our lower quality tyres should be ok.

I agree with you, but it is all about my JK tornados, my running is less too.

The indication is there was no puncture till 2-1/2 years and 25000km, but after that I had 4 punctures within next 5 thousand kilometers which shows the tyres have become weak.

@petroholic My tires are Yoko A drive (4 years)and they have lots of rubber on it even after running close to 50 K.But whenever I visit my service station the adviser says tires are old so your ride will be bumpy [surprise].
@RK Waiting for a chance to change the tires since we love our cars !!!![lol]

Yes JK wont last that long as mrf or BS would.Still the issue is sorted as of now so drive with them as long as you can and then opt for changine them.

Great timing RK Sir for your trip to utilize the Diesel advantage before new government bring the axe over fuel pricing.

My Ritz shoes changed to Bridgestone 185/70 R14 B290.(as per your advice [:)] ) Beautiful and noiseless ride. But the look of Yoko tires I am missing .

Congrats GM !!

1. In first place post some pics of the car with these new tyres
2. What was the difference between AR20 and these B290 and what made you to select these
3. Please write the new tyre driving experience with little elaboration comparing the previous tyre experience

RK ji

Do not expect the JK tires last till thread disappear. Usually 3 out of 5 Jk tires(car tires) life end due to belt broken/shape loss or some other damages. Less usage may be a reason to this type of damage.
