RK @

For the comfort, You dont need to goto 15" wheels but you can go for the broader tire in 14" itself. Also i think you can order and get a Ritz ZDi rear seat(60:40) from MGP store and change the stock one. This will give you better storage options.

Face Lifted VDI Also comes with 60:40 Split Seat - Is it the same seat used on ZDI ?

There is no 1st Gear at all, 2nd Gear behave like first gear - Only 3rd Gear provide some peace during those situation.
@ Arijitb, The car has enormous low end torque I presume.

@Sidd7hartha, I think you are refering to the petrol one it seems

Guys, I found an issue in the car

After ignition on these two red lights are not going until I crank. While cranking two yellow lights(right side) are glowing and quickly going off those are like "diagnosis" "other one" just top of the diagnosis symbol. Can you somebody help on this, however I decided to visit the service station tomorrow.

@Gurala74,No Sir, I was referring to diesel version of Ritz. Arijitb mentioned there is practically no 1st gear. But mine has 1st gear [It is petrol ]. I never tried 2nd gear to start, though at initial starting from garage it shows too high pick up [engine rpm slightly above 1000 ]. One of my friend asked me to wait a few minutes till engine rpm dies down below 1000.I tried it and found useful since at rpm below 1000 car pick up is controllable. After the engine warms up rpm remains below 1000.
The problem referred by you as per car manual to be brought before service technicians.

One shows battery and other is oil level, can you check the battery connectors and oil level in your car ?

[:)] As I mentioned earlier in my previous post certain situation there is no feel that 1st Gear exists, which is again I'm quoting my own line.
Arijitb said:
3. Didn't get the Turbo Lag point - but my experience driving in congested single lane two way traffic with A/C sudden Stop & Go is very painful - There is no 1st Gear at all, 2nd Gear behave like first gear - Only 3rd Gear provide some peace during those situation.
These are some unavoidable stop & you want quickly get rid of the chaos and continue your journey, In that short of case you feel insufficient 1st Gear behaviour.

@ Arijitb, The car has enormous low end torque I presume.
I Don't know if the Engine is new for that matter, for testing purpose In plain road / surface without A/C (with 3 passenger) from complete stop upon slotting Gear to 1st and applying the Biting point to complete clutch release the car rolling at 10km/hr without touch at Accelerator Paddle, Again the Slotting gear to 2nd position releasing the clutch fully it achieved 20km/hr without touching the A Paddle. Now if I become too greedy and did the 3rd the engine start knocking & may stop if I'm not careful - This kind of Torque it packed with.

But I'm 100% sure when I change the Factory Filled Engine OIL it sure loose this capability.

As of now I did 3 to 4 times touched 100km/hr (with 2 Passenger) and If I remembered correctly it achieved that speed between 2.5 to 3K RPM (Not Sure) at 5th Gear.
-------------------------------------------
For me here is Idle Cold Start RPM

With AC little bit Run

@ Arijitb, the event has been demonstrated by PCW/MDS during their training in Ritz Zxi. In spite of all these facts it appears to me your diesel car is far powerful than petrol engine cars.[:)]

PCW / MDS never demonstrate this to me, What I wrote here is my personal experience at my car during my learning days with a driver after completion of MDS Course. But if they provide you this type exercise during your Training Session, then I don't see any difference between Petrol & Diesel Model.

If their abused ZXI can do this then why not your VXI ? Please remember Petrol Engine Rev Happy, you can check your RPM meter which got mark up to 8000 RPM where Diesel's marking is up to 6000 RPM. Don't worry about initial RPM. Revving up little bit high is always forgivable for Petrol Engine.
Also remember Petrol version of Ritz or K12 Engine packed more than 10 Extra Horse power than Diesel cousin.

Just wondering how much did this installation costed you?
There is no installation required all are Plug and Play, Unless you want TPM in your car.

It's called OBD sensor and yes your Wagon R also compatible too - If you are interested visit OBD Sensor thread of this forum.

@Arijitb.....yes this is available in Vxi too. But your car's power can be tested on slopes [I think ]. If even in crawling speed your car can over come highest bumpers of kolkata,in 3rd gear then it must be powerful enough.

Re: Maruti Suzuki Ritz Vxi

Friends, I have a Ritz Vxi for 2yrs. Initially it was driven by drivers, but now a days I drive it. Occasionally for long journey driver is hired like last Sunday.
Now the problem is I find some difficulty in shifting gear. This happens for 1st & 3rd. 2nd,4th & 5th are OK. Last 15 th August I was driving back home and had been on a slope when I preferred to shift to 3rd. The gear could not be put into slot. I managed to put it into 2nd after having some distance in neutral. But when I came down to even road I found no problem to put it into 3rd. This kind of thing happened a month ago while tried start [ flat surface ]after a signal. The gear did not easily move to 1st. After some struggling and honks from behind I could move off.
Last Sunday[17th August] I had a long journey and hired a driver. He did not complain on this issue. Shall I visit workshop and the vehicle checked?[confused]

^^^ If you are uncomfortable with your machine & feel difficulties it is always good idea to visit MASS.The Hired driver didn't complain means the the gear box is ok...no fault in there.Anyhow ask MASS to run a proper routine check for Clutch pedal play as well as Gear Oil Level check up....it may problem of clutch dragging. How many KM's your car run till date ?
