Re: Ritz Ldi G.gray Update !!

well he had 195\15r in his ritz. and normal tyre size is 175 i don't know what's the tyre size of swift but i liked ritz handling better.

and i was comparing ritz with polo and fabia and not with swift [:D]

i know engine is the same but insulation and all also matters. i have driven both the cars , both new , swift's noise is less than the ritz so obviously there is something other than the engine.
Hi,
I am planning for 195 60 R15 for my ritz, can you please share your review about those, I mean ride quality and effect on FE.

^^I agree to Sam here, stick to 14" and go for 185/70/R14 tyres which are good up-gradation to the stock one.

The car was running in 15" Alloys, if he comes down to 14" will there be any effect in shock absorbers ?

No significant effect, in fact it will improve the ride quality - just remember to keep the rolling radius the same or ±2% max.

My Ritz VDi has 195/55/R15 and Local dealer suggested to go for 185/65/R15. Please suggest.

I think that will be cheaper. You can get away from any spacers used too. I asked an idiotic question earlier about the alloy wheels. Now I am understanding that you are keeping the 15 inch alloys and going for new tires. IMO replace all tires.[:)].

Bonkers. This shall alter the rolling radius by more than 4%.

The better option shall be to go for 185/60R15.

I find this very amusing, why are you guys wanting to stick 15 inchers on a Ritz? I mean, the car is already top heavy - read good ground clearance and stiffer suspension to compensate for the higher centre of gravity - and to balance all this, Maruti offers 14 inch rims as OEM. Fitting plus size rims over OEM size with low profile tyres would only serve to screw the ride quality and lead to suspension/steering problems in the long run.

I do not understand what are the benefits? Better handling? Come on, how many of us would even feel the minuscule, if at all any, difference in handling afforded by an inch plus rims?

Looks? Yeah, probably. To each his own.

The Ritz is meant to be a humdrum, comfortable, fuel efficient, everyday city car. Let is be so.

If I had a Ritz I would chuck the OEM 165/80R14s (LXi/VXi/LDi/VDi - ZXi and ZDi come with better 185/70R14s) and get myself 195/70R14 or 190/70R14. Period.

pankaj: When your speedo shows 100kmph, rest assured your Ritz is actually travelling at only 96kmph. So when your odo shows 1000 kms, your Ritz has actually done only 960 kms.

SAM, Is it OK to fix 195 /190 on the OEM 14" steel rims? I heard maximum is 185.

In most cars, one could safely go for a contact patch hats 20mm wider than OEM . So 185mm is safe for Ritz. I think 190 should pose no problems but please check whether 195 fouls with the wheel arch/suspension. With a little bit of tinkering (if at all required), 195 should work nicely.

But for 14 inch OEM , he has to sell off alloys and buy steel wheels, I do not think Pankaj is interested in doing that.

I see that as an apt upgrade, a tall boy like ritz should become more stable with fatter rubber and lesser side wall (lower profile).

Ritz would be dancing around curves with that profile sir.

Just curious, why does your every post starts with ^^[confused]
