re: Maruti Suzuki Ritz LDI Ownership Review - 2 Years, 30000 Kms - Zero Issues !!

Check this. Total bill was 12000rs in which he paid 650 for interior cleaning.

What's this service kit swift old diesel?
Intake manifold?
Caliper pin greasing?

And fuel injector cleaning just at 20k?
Intake manifold R&R <--- meaning what ... Repair & Replace ?

Service Kit Swift old diesel also very doubtful too.

Caliper Pin Greasing <---- Hopefully they dismantle the front disc brakes and greased it.

This is as a query, Is that Fuel Injector Cleaning means Engine Flush or De - Carbo ? Please let me know.

--------

To RK,

According to your Bill at post number 209,

What is the exchange filter cost you 1154/- ? This one is biggest value in your bill.

also there are 4 minor item I like to know if possible; What are they ? Can you remember ?

SEAT FRONT COIL --- 2PC --- 43/- (per piece rate)
SUPPORT FRONT STRUT ---- 2PC ---- 321/- (----)
MOUNT FRONT STABILIZE--- 2PC-----16/- (----)
FRONT COIL SPRING KIT ----1PC----103/- (----)

Else there 2 types OIL used

13 > MG00(15W40)-CASTROL ---- 741/- <--- hopefully this is the engine oil
14 > MG00(75W90)-TOTAL ------823/- <----- if this is coolant,

then what is this item number 9 ?

9 > COOLANT (SG) NON AMINE ----- 410/-

Its the same story with all ASS nowadays. The SA's usually try to add unnecessary stuff like engine flush, decarbonizing, paint protection.....and the list goes on.
While getting the job card made, the owner has to be very careful not to get fleeced. For ppl who know what stuff is necessary and what is not this is easy. For ppl who do not have much idea I always ask them to have a glance at the owner's manual before going for servicing. Follow it to the point and get nothing else done.

As for getting service done outside, maruti ( and now even hyundai ) have an advantage. maruti retails the parts separately so all a person has to do is go to an MGP store, buy whatever he needs and get the servicing done from wherever he wants.
This is not possible in any other brand ( except hyundai who have recently started retailing parts in bangalore )
I wish hyundai starts over the counter sale in delhi as well.

There was one instance : I asked the service guys to change break pads of my santro. Upon checking they told me both the front discs needed to be changed.

I told them to repair it( I don't know the exact word but they buff the old surface with a machine and discs becomes new)

They said no. And there was no point in adding new brake pads since it won't be effective. So I told them I won't pay for new parts just like that. (discs were 4000rs each) and buffing won't even cost a 1000bucks.

They charged labor cost and I said include the brake pads in the bill i'll take it and get it installed from outside. He went and taked with his superior.

They didn't give me the parts.

It means removing the injectors, putting them on an injector cleaning machine, an and cleaning their nozzles from the inside.
SEAT FRONT COIL --- 2PC --- 43/- (per piece rate)
SUPPORT FRONT STRUT ---- 2PC ---- 321/- (----)
MOUNT FRONT STABILIZE--- 2PC-----16/- (----)
FRONT COIL SPRING KIT ----1PC----103/- (----)
1. Seat of front suspension coil
2. Support of front McPherson strut.
3. Mount of front suspension stabilizer bar.
4. Front suspension coil spring kit.
MG00(15W40)-CASTROL ---- 741/- <--- hopefully this is the engine oil
You hoped right. Congrats:biggrin:.
MG00(75W90)-TOTAL ------823/- <----- if this is coolant,
Then what is this item number 9 ?
Thumb rule with Indian cars: any 90 grade oil is almost always the gearbox oil.
COOLANT (SG) NON AMINE ----- 410/-
Yes saar, thees ees da coolant saar.

Sam maruti charges 1350 rupees for cleaning the injectors [surprise] now it hit me after you wrote the process of cleaning.

I pay 150 rupees for injectors from the outside. They put it in a machine and run it with some chemical for 2-3 minutes.

Hello RK, Good to know your car completed 25k kms and is running smoothly without any issues. [:)]
I have gone through your almost entire thread and must praise you, you have maintained it well.
Want to get feedback on Capdase mobile holder. How is the quality? Is it still sticking to car surface or it falls off on bad roads? I am also looking for a good mobile holder, but have got mixed reactions on mobile holders. Is it worth spending @1k on that product?

Sad to say this,My MASS had started ripping me off the day the vehicle had crossed 40 K Kms. Changed all consumables on right time.Service have been dome diligently . Whats the point in doing all services correctly and still the vehicle starts behaving badly. Screws are loose ! Clips are not put back correctly.
After 45 K service, alignment never become right. Sound is coming from front shocks.Steering squeaking and hard. [anger]. Needs to find a better mechanic.
Don't know if they are doing it deliberately. So that we sell of the vehicle ?
Just called up Mandovi .Saying bye to Bimal. Let us see how things goes .Let good intelligence prevail!

Thank you for your appreciation buddy !! Capdase mobile was good in the beginning but now a days the back side red color locking switch doesn't function properly and gives some trouble, but the vacuum cup quality is good and it never falls off. Other day checked a similar one with our member from vizag where it was falling down and the locking switch was not operating well. So finally I can say that it is not worth the money spent. You can get a better one in interior shop for just 200 to 300 bucks and even it doesn't function after using for a 6 months we do feel that bad as we have not spent more money

Yes it was the same for my M800 earlier when it crossed 50K then there were lot of things cropped up and ASS never responded well for them, I do not know why and one service person gave me a valuable suggestion that better to sell the car during 4 to 5 years of age and 50 to 60k on ODO to get a good price and also
I was looking to buy a diesel, hence took a decision to sell it off. Now I need to see what happens in case of my Ritz

Thank you Sudhi. I have booked it in Kalyani Motors, Mysore Road. Regarding the tire upgrade, the dealer is pushing to buy Potenza, stating that Turanza are not so good, really confused now. One more thing, are reverse parking sensors really required?
Yes Reverse parking sensors are really helpful. Try to get it as a freebie from the dealer [:)]

Hello Generalmax,

From where did you get the news that MS is planning to halt Ritz production? Can you mention the source here?

In my analysis Ritz was always an underdog who never came out of the clout of Swift. Performance wise both Ritz and Swift is equal but the unique design at the rear end was one of the major problems which Ritz encountered in the market.

If you take sales numbers they haven't sold more than 8000 units per month since its inception. The average sales during the initial 3 years was ~5500 units per month. But during 2013 they have sold ~37000 units which is almost 40% less to 2012 figures which is an indication that this product is fast approaching the decline stage. So may be in next 2-3 years time MS might pull off this from their product line.

AFAIK Maruti is axing A Star and Estilo to ease up production for Celerio. Ritz is not in news to be phased out. Might be a facelift coming.
